The following 11 websites have collections of free sewing patterns for stylish, on-trend women’s clothing: Mood Fabrics, fabric.com, fabrics-store.com, Peppermint Mag, Fibre Mood, BurdaStyle (Russia), Bernina, Lekala Patterns and pattern-vault.com. Wearing History Sophie - 1899 French Jacket E-pattern Sizes 30" Bust- 46" Bust, all in one size packet. This listing is for an E-Pattern to print yourself at home on your home printer's USA letter and A4 sized paper. This also includes A0 size for copy shop printing. Many thanks to Sophia Khan for the beautiful photos of her in her jacket she made. You can find her on Instagram at http://Instagram.com/Sophia_khan/ --- DESCRIPTION --- ~ Upper Intermediate to Advanced Difficulty ~ An elegant jacket, from the year 1899, that is ideal for late Victorian, early Edwardian, and steampunk looks. This jacket has a flared Medici collar with petal detail, circular cuffs, and scalloped hem. The jacket may be accented by rows of top-stitching. Works well in wool, linen, or cotton for both the fashionable lady or the lady adventurer. This pattern originally appeared in La Mode Illustree in the year 1899. While based on an original pattern and while this pattern follows the original silhouette very closely, this pattern has had significant improvements to make it more user-friendly for today’s dressmaker. This pattern has been trued up from the original pattern and includes the addition of multi-sizes, seam allowance, grain lines, notches, facing pieces, and pattern markings which were not originally included. This pattern has been supplemented with my illustrations and text to make basic, untailored construction easier to comprehend. Basic lining instructions are included, but are not in-depth. If you desire more tailoring or lining instruction, it is suggested to supplement this pattern with a book that instructs tailored garment construction. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE A MOCK UP TO TEST PATTERN FIT AND CONSTRUCTION BEFORE CUTTING INTO YOUR FASHION FABRIC. Fit and construction of this garment is more complex than the majority of garments made today. Test the construction and fit first in a cheap mock up fabric, since the fit and construction of garments from the 19th century are so VASTLY different than garments today. The fit is unchanged from the original 19th century source material. This was originally designed to be worn over period foundations, including corsets, of the period. The fit of the finished garment, however, does not have the exaggerated bust/waist ratio of many period garments and can easily be adjusted to wear for modern wear, without corset, in the mock up phase - SIZING - All sizes below are included in these e-pattern files. This pattern was meant to be very fitted over the bust. Very little ease is included if you want more ease, or desire to wear it over a full blouse, consider cutting a size larger. Bust 30 - 32 - 34 - 36 - 38 - 40 - 42 - 44 - 46 Waist 24 - 26 - 28 - 30 - 32 - 34 - 36 - 38 - 40 This pattern is meant to be very fitted at the waist and has very little ease. If you are between sizes, cut the next size next larger. - HOW TO USE THIS E-PATTERN - YOU WILL NEED ADOBE READER, A FREE PDF READER PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO OPEN AND PRINT THIS PATTERN. Wearing History #E-R144 "Leslie" Day and Evening Skirt Pattern E-PATTERN- download and print at home on US Letter or A4 size paper. This uses A LOT of paper. Also includes A0 paper size for copy shop printing. "Leslie" Day and Evening Skirt Pattern This lovely skirt is perfect for daywear or evening. The front has beautiful inset sides with gathering and a heart shaped waistband. The daytime version buttons down the front and hits at mid-calf length. The evening version is full length and the front is cut on the fold and opens at the side seam, and can also be cut a daytime length. The back of the skirt is un-gathered and cut with an a-line flare. Add a petticoat underneath for extra fullness (not included). *Note- this does not have pockets. The tops in the illustration are not included. The skirt does not have inside netting or skirt supports, so add a petticoat if you desire extra fullness** SIZES This pattern has been multi-sized to included sizes 24"-40" waist. Please enlarge second image for size chart. This pattern is based on a period original that was in size 28" waist. In the time period it was only available in sizes 23"-30" waist, with one size per packet. This pattern has the addition of sizes 32"-40" waist, and all sizes are included in the same packet. - Difficulty - Intermediate This garment uses basics like straight seams, buttonholes, gathering, and setting a waistband. The more intermediate skill is setting a curved seam, for the front of the skirt. - Yardage Requirements- Period yardage included and should be tested when making mock-up. Size charts have been added for modern fabric widths based on a non-directional fabric of 52" or wider. Allow extra for fabric that shrinks when laundered, or matching patterns, fabrics with a nap, or directional prints. -Additional Notes- Because this was based on a period original, a mock up is HIGHLY SUGGESTED. Test construction and fit on your unique figure before cutting into your fashion fabric. This pattern has slight alterations to the period original in order to ensure accuracy and add ease, as no waist ease was originally included. 0.5" of waist ease has been added. --HOW TO PRINT AND USE THIS E-PATTERN-- YOU WILL NEED ADOBE READER, A FREE PDF READER PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO OPEN AND PRINT THIS PATTERN. About Wearing History Resto-Vival™ Patterns Resto-Vival™ Patterns are original historic patterns that have been restored and revived. Original patterns are usually available only in single sizes, precut from tissue paper and totally unprinted, with details like grainlines and darts indicated only by small perforations. Resto-Vival™ patterns are printed on sturdy bond paper instead of tissue and clearly marked with drawn and labeled markings. These markings aid the modern sewer in understanding the markings of the original pattern and the construction of the garment. Resto-Vival™ patterns follow the period shapes of the original patterns, maintaining the historical accuracy of the completed garment. Original period instructions are included. These instructions are text only (unless otherwise noted) and fairly minimal, especially compared to instructions for modern patterns. At least an intermediate knowledge of dressmaking and a good familiarity with pattern construction is suggested. You may choose to have a modern or period sewing book handy to help with basic construction methods that the pattern instructions do not cover in detail. Also, fitting a muslin mockup is strongly recommended, as all garments were meant to be worn over period foundation garments or corsetry.

Levenwick is a top-down, compound raglan cardigan worked in Reverse Stockinette Stitch. The gentle curves of the well-known Shetland “Old Shale” motif accent the collar, front opening, and pocket. Levenwick is the name of a small settlement of houses in Shetland, smaller than even a tiny village. It was here, beside a beautiful crescent of white sand beach, that designer Gudrun Johnston was born. Designer: Gudrun Johnston Collection: Wool People, Volume 1
