Eggjarnar is only 2 km up the hill south of the village Vágur on Suðuroy (South Island) in Faroe Islands. There is a road leading up here, it stops only 20 meters from the edge. The view is fantastic. This is more than 200 metres above sea level and the cliff goes vertically down to the sea. Further south is Beinisvørð, which raises vertically 470 metres above sea level. In clear weather the view towards Beinisvord is great from Eggjarnar. During World War II a Loran C station was built here, that was when the road was made. The Loran C station closed in the mid 1970'ies. www.visitsuduroy.fo/UK/ Suðuroy (literally South Island) is the southernmost of the Faroe Islands. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Su%C3%B0uroy
