Anxiety triggers are stimuli or situations that make people, including kids, feel nervous or scared. These triggers can include difficult schoolwork, talking to others, or feeling pressured to do well. Kids deal with anxiety triggers when they go through things that seem harder than what they think they can handle, causing emotional and physical reactions that might affect how they feel and behave. The Anxiety Triggers Worksheet is a tool for kids to figure out what makes them upset or anxious. It lists different triggers, which they can rate on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 being relaxed and 10 being frantic. There's also space available below to write down other things that make them anxious and their current coping strategies. Using this worksheet, kids can build resilience and face challenging situations with a greater sense of control and confidence. For instance, if thinking about the past or future makes them nervous, they can practice coping skills, such as taking deep breaths. Once they finish the worksheet, parents and teachers can support them by placing uplifting quotes from the Anxiety Coping Statements handout in the child’s environment. This creates an ambiance that seamlessly reinforces learned strategies and cultivates a positive daily environment. *This item is an instant digital download.
