The French Loterie Nationale is known for having used many fantastic art deco designs in the 1930s, and this one doesn't disappoint. With artwork by Edgard Derouet (who studied with famed poster artist Paul Colin), this poster features Derouet's famous "jumping man", a consistent theme in the campaigns he developed. This one is for Arts Menagers, an annual market of household goods. What's not to love? Condition: Very Good to Near Mint. Minor border wear. Conservation mounted on linen.
Created in 1933, the French National Lottery became widely popular after the media coverage of barber Paul Bonhoure's win of five million francs in the first draw. In a very enlightening article "Loterie nationale : Mythes et symboles" written in 1969, the influencial French journalist and author of many books on consumerism, education and advertising proposes an in-depth analysis of posters comissioned by the French lottery. The lottery was said to have hired some of France's best designers, developing a corpus of some of the most effective posters in history. This particular piece is signed Derouet-Lesacq who did a large number of pieces for the French lottery. The pair was composed of Edgar Derouet, artist and printer, and Charles Lesacq, artist. This particular poster is in keeping with their usual approach of placing a stylized character front-and center and respecting a very clean style. The poster has recently been professionally linen-backed and is in excellent condition. less

An original rare French vintage poster : Loterie Nationale... Tranche de L'enfance au profit du Secours National, advertising the French national lottery. The French Loterie Nationale was created in May 1933 and was created to raise funds to war veterans from WW1 and victims of the agricultural disasters of the time. It ran until it was replaced by the more popular Loto in December 1990. The poster displays a woman sprinkling gold over a young child as this lottery 'tranche' is in support of childhood (L'enfance). Tranche 25th which dates 1943. The lottery commissioned some of France's best illustrators and designers to create effective images for their posters to encourage people to buy tickets and support various causes. This poster was by Pierre Fossey. Clean, simple style with great vintage colours. Measures: 60 x 40 cm A lithograph print. The actual image of the print is in good condition however there are slight tears and handling creases around the edges and one large tear into the image on the bottom - when laying flat or framed this would not be particularly noticeable particularly if framed above the level of the tear where the piece is missing in the word 'secours'. Please see photographs for overall condition. The paper has become discoloured on edges due to it's age. The photographs have been taken in natural light but colours may vary very slightly depending on light conditions. The poster is printed on thin 'newspaper type' paper which is fragile. It could be framed as it is or if you prefer professionally backed with linen to preserve it. It will be sent carefully rolled and packed in a cardboard tube. Original Vintage Blonde French National Lottery Poster Advertising Yoldjoglou money coins gold 21 November print wall art retro 1966 1960s An outstanding large vintage french poster showing a beautifully drawn woman with gold coins flowing out of her golden hair from the 1960s. Artist is Yoldjoglou and this is from 1966, advertising the lottery on Tuesday 21 November. Dimensions: 61.8 in x 45.3 in (157 cm x 115 cm) Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. This poster has been stored folded, so there are crease marks which shouldn't be very noticeable under pressed glass. These posters will be delivered in a cardboard backed envelope for protection. See the FAQ section for more information on shipping, tracking and insurance.

25th anniversary - French poster of the 1957 national lottery signed by illustrator Grove. The French national lottery, created by the decree of article 136 of the law of finances of July 22, 1933 with the aim of helping the invalids of war, the veterans and the victims of agricultural calamities, was at that time the most important organizer of lottery in France. It hired fashionable artists to create the illustrations for its advertising posters, most of which included humorous slogans with cultural references. The national lottery succeeded to the former Royal Lottery of France, and remained in existence until its dissolution in 1976. It is the French games, that we know today, which will succeed to him. This poster corresponds to a special trace of the national lottery, since it is a drawing on the occasion of the 25 years of the national lottery. The slogan "For its 25th anniversary, give yourself a ticket" invites the French to participate in the draw as if they were giving a birthday present to the young woman with the golden hair, who is illustrated on the poster and personifies the national lottery. She is depicted with a blindfold, like the goddess Fortuna of unexpected success and material fortune. On this blindfold are written the date of birth of the national lottery, as well as the current year, 25 years later. In place of the young woman's top, are represented the three future winning numbers of this draw. Rather rare product almost unique In very good condition. Size: 60x40 cm Sending in tube

The French Government’s decades-long lottery campaign made 'Loterie Nationale' a household name in France. Prolific artist Edgar Derouet created the majority of Loterie Nationale posters himself, but some special edition campaigns were done in conjunction with famed graphic artist Charles Lesacq. In this graphic we see a joyous winner hanging ringing a bell that reads "1939 5th drawing" to the tune of 5k! What a beautiful moment. This classic Loterie Nationale piece will look fantastic hanging in your home. Condition: Very Good. Border wear. Faint age toning.
