The use of colors in this Compagnie Générale Transatlantique Algérie Tunisie (The French Line, Algeria Tunisia) poster will certainly draw the eye. It can easily function as the centerpiece of your travel poster collection! This piece is advertising ferry / shipping services between Marseille and Algeria, Tunisia. Lovely, colorful and unique poster. Will go well with any collection of travel art, transport posters, seaside themes, etc. Originally printed by Maison Devambez, Paris. This high-resolution, 300 dpi, digital download can print crisp images in a variety of sizes. Our recommended size is 40cm x 60 cm (approx. 16in x 24 in). This digital download can be printed on poster paper, high-quality photo stock, custom paper, glass, metal, canvas, etc. Many of the digital travel posters offered in my store are also on display in my home - ranging in sizes from 70x100cm (28x39in) to 11x15 cm (4x6 in) (I don't have room for large prints of all the posters, though I wish I did!). Disclaimer: at extra large sizes, such as 70cm x 100 cm (approx. 28in x 39in) the print looks great from a distance (how it's meant to be viewed) but can appear fuzzy around the edges up close. Originally from the midwest US, I currently reside in France. In the last 10 years, I have been a nomad (for work and school) living in various US cities, Argentina, England, India, Myanmar (Burma) and Vietnam. I have been fortunate enough to visit an additional 40+ countries and counting. I love art, travel, cultures, languages, film, history and food/wine, and collect related things that interest me.

Date: 1930 Size: 24.25 x 39 inches Artist: Unknown A spectacular, and spectacularly rare, poster for the Companie Generale Transatlantique and it's joint venture with the PLM railroad. Created between 1858 and 1862 from the amalgamation of the earlier Paris-Lyon and Lyon-Méditerranée companies, and subsequently incorporating a number of smaller railways, the PLM operated chiefly in the south-east of France, with a main line which connected Paris to the Cote d'Azur by way of Dijon, Lyon and Marseille. As such, it was perfected positioned to offer a train/oceanliner experience to it's traveling passengers. The Compagnie Generale Transatlatinque was founded in 1861 and was known overseas as the "French Line". In its present iteration, it is known as "CMA CGM S.A.," and it is the third largest container company in the world. Offering passage to North African ports such as Tunis, Bizerte, Algiers, Phillipeville (now known as Skikda, Algeria), Oran and Bône (also in Algeria), the combination travel promised door-to-door arrival of a previously unheard of 37 hours. Poster is unlined, in overall excellent condition and ready to frame. From a private collection.
I am awaiting the arrival of a new PC. As ours has decided to run excruciatingly slow when I try to do anything. Anything.. I have tried all the tricks but our 5 year old HP dinosaur is just not cutting it. Soooo.... I will be absent until the arrival of my maxed out, crankin' Dell. Woohhhoooo! At that time, I am hoping my digital world, images, and art will be resurrected. Because it's a custom build, it's going to take 3 and half weeks before it even ships. Arrrgghhh! I am NOT a patient person, but I know it will be so worth the wait in the long run. I am looking to do some design work 'for hire' so to speak starting this Fall. ie.. blog banners, layouts, avatars, etsy banners, widgets, linkies, and anything else people request of me. The sun is out, the snow is gone and Spring is violently calling me outside. So, dear friends, I am taking a vaca of sorts and will return, hopefully full of bright ideas, brilliant thoughts and lovely images just for you! Step away from your PC's and go out into the world and enjoy it! xoxo~
