Hello, Crafters. I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Today’s card is very similar to the card I shared on Saturday, which I called Petals & More Thinlits. They are also similar in as much as the Petals & More card I used the branch and leaves Thinlits die for the first time, and with ... Read More about Flourishing Phrases

Flourishing Phrases with Stampin' Blends When I am designing my card classes I often look through my stock of stamp sets and see if one jumps out at me. The Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set was introduced a few catalogs ago and it immediately caught my eye. I love the scroll, love the coordinating thinlits and I love coloring the floral scroll in a variety of colors. Do you like the Flourishing Phrases with Stampin' Blends? What CAN'T you all do with Flourishing Phrases? Here several different ways I've used this set (again!) to create cards for a variety of occasions.
I have another card for you today featuring the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. This time, I did not use the bundle, but instead took one of the sentiments and used it on a die-cut from our Leaflet Framelits. I absolutely love the way this masculine sympathy card turned out. Isn't the new Burlap Ribbon awesome? It's a wow in person, too, as it has the very tiniest shimmer of silver strands holding the threads of burlap in place. I predict that I will be using this ribbon a LOT in the upcoming year. The inside panel features the coordinating sentiment
FabFriday is back with a great color combination for Christmas - Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. While I chose to NOT make a Christmas card (and instead made a sympathy card with these gorgeous colors), I'd argue (well, maybe I'd just softly and politely suggest) that this card
I was just noticing in this picture that the colors almost look black. I used Night of Navy ink and paper and Whisper White paper. I am going to have to figure out why that did that. Hmmm Nobody likes to make sympathy cards, but when you do you want...
Flourishing Phrases has been a favorite of mine for a while. I love all the things you can do with it. It really is never ending and you can create for just about everything that you would need a card for with this great set! Here I made a sympathy card. I used Merry Merlot. I used Wink of Stella to water-color the flower tops. They are really sparkly! I also have three pearls on the main panel of the card. I created the same card using Blueberry Bushel on this one. Isn't it amazing how different these two cards feel with just a small color change? This card has a washed out look to it because I stamped the flowers and then spritzed the card stock with water and let dry a couple of times. I was hoping for a more imperfect look than what I got but I do like the soft, hazy images. This card is more of a simply stamped card. The lattice looking piece is die cut though. I did add a pearl to the center of the flower. Another set I have so many ideas for but just not enough time to create! Man, my full time job is getting in the way! Can you relate? Happy Stampin'! I'm on a bit of a roll with card challenges at the moment so here's my second post in a row entering different challenges! My card today is for CAS(E) this Sketch! #269 and the design brief was to create a card using this layout. I wanted to incorporate some colour technique into this card so for the Daffodil Delight/Pumpkin Pie card I inked up my stamp with Daffodil Delight and then used my marker pen to draw directly onto the stamp (not "thumping" I actually drew lines where i wanted to add accents of Pumpkin Pie). I also thought the card would look great in Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turquoise. This time I used the baby wipe technique, adding drops of ink from my reinkers to a baby wipe and using that as my stamp pad to pick up colour onto my stamp. EDIT: For a look at how I created these colours, here's my video tutorial from my regular Tuesday evening Facebook live slot. I just love the motivation a card challenge gives. Use the link above to go to the CAS(E) this Sketch post to see what every one else designed using this design template. Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are well, I'm just about dried off from the horrid weather yesterday, although today isn't much better!! I have been having a look at my stamp sets and realised I haven't used the Flourishing Phrases stamp set for, well I can't remember when I last used it! So, I decided to create some pretty boxes for some Yankee Candle Votives that I can gift. Measurements Flirty Flamingo Cardstock 1pc - 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" 1pc - scrap for sentiment Whisper White Cardstock 5pc - 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" Take your piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and using your simply scored and score as follows... Long side - 2", 4", 6" & 8" Short side - 2", 4" & 6" Now cut away at the cardstock so you are left with a piece of cardstock that looks like this... Then on the 5 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock stamp the the Flourish from flourishing pharses in memento ink. The stamp is far too big for the panel, so make sure you stamp so you get a good mix of flower and leaves. Once the ink is dry, colour using blends. Add these five panels to the card stock. Adhere four panels the right way up along the central row, then add the fifth piece to the panel that is left - this is the lid so you will need to place it upside down as you look at it.. see below.... Using a circle punch, add a small thumb notch to the panel that will be the front and round the corners of the thin tab at the top of the cardstock, above the upside down panel. Add tear and tape to the thin tab and adhere it to the furthest panel away. At the bottom, fold in the side and the back and pop some adhesive on the front tab and adhere it closed. Fold in the tabs at the top and close the lid. Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock, towards the right hand side, then add to the lid of the box. Finally using 4 strands of bakers twine, tie a little bow and add to the left hand side of the card strip with a glue dot. Here's a list of all the supplies I used in today's project, click on the images to head over to my online store.
