Today’s card was inspired by this rich color palette created by Katy McGloin. I have struggled with the new In-Color Sweet Sugarplum therefore this was a true challenge for me. I created two cards because I was struggling finding my stampin’ mojo. Let’s look at the one I chose to share as a design team member. Floral Affection Textured Embossing Folder adds texture and the small flowers from Jar of Love Bundle add a splash color.… Continue reading

Happy day to you! If you're looking for a quick, easy, clean and simple card, look no furter! The Floral Affection embossing folder makes a powerful impression in this layout. I CASEd this set from fellow Pal, Susan Itell. Her clean and simple style spoke to me with this card. I'm going to make an admission. I have a bit of a hard time getting rid of retired paper, ink, etc and do my best to use what I have, but then end up not using current items, so that before I know it, I have lots of other paper that is now retired. It's a vicious cycle! Do you ever do that? This is LAST project I made using retired card stock - Not Quite Navy. My church is holding a huge garage sale and after making this project, I pulled out my box of one gallon zip lock bags along with my retired card stock and filled the bags by color - retired card stock, ribbon, ink and marker. I added a few more household items to my boxes and drove to church and dropped them off. I now don't have to think about retired card stock! I feel so free:) No matter the color, this layout is beautiful and makes a wonderful gift. I recently met a colleague for lunch and presented her with this set. She loved it! She was so impressed that she asked me to design a gift for the presenters at an upcoming conference she is planning. How fun! This is a great set to make ahead and have on hand when you need to give a little something to a host or friend. What makes this card pop? Scored lines 1/4" from the edge Dimensionals lifting the main panel from the base A coordinating stamp on the inside of the card and one one the envelope Thanks so much for stopping. I'd love to hear about your stash - please share! Hope your day is a creative one!
Welcome back to the 2015-2016 Stampin' UP Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! I am so blessed that I get to create and inspire with these amazing Stampin' UP products and share with you all here for another wonderful year! Remember that every other Thursday, all 20 of us from all over the world will post on our blogs an inspiring project for you! Be sure to get Google Translate so that you can read in your language all about how they created their projects too. Please keep hoppin' thru them all....you do not want to miss anyone of these amazing ladies! This week we are showcasing our Artisan projects for the Stampin' UP Facebook Page this month. For this project, the team was to focus on the Love & Affection Stamp set, Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and/or New In-Colors. So I picked a combination of them all to use together! I am totally loving this Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with the flower bunch! I was able to use it twice on this project in different ways. First the background is the embossing folder thru the Big Shot several times in different angles. Then I took my bone folder and flattened the raised areas. Second, I can show you a step by step tutorial on how to color and emboss and color again. I used a half of 8.5x11 piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. You use Watermelon Wonder, Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach Classic Ink Pads with Sponge Daubers. You want to first sponge on the Peekaboo Peach randomly. Then you want to sponge the Flirty Flamingo nearby. Next sponge on the Watermelon Wonder around the other two. Add another round of Peekaboo Peach to fill in the area. Now select a section of the coloring and emboss it with the Floral Affection TIEF. You can see how some of the cardstock comes thru the color? No worries.... Color it in with more ink on the sponge daubers! Now cut it out with your Paper Snips. (Careful as it will tear!) To finish off, sponge the edges of it. Ta-da! Don't forget to add some Peekaboo Peach splatter with your Aqua Painter and Ink, some cut leaves with the Love & Affection Stamp Set in Old Olive Cardstock and Classic ink, a layer background DSP from the Playful Palette DSP Stack and some stamped letters from the Labeler Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp Set! Thanks for stopping by here and if you leave a comment then thanks for truly making my day! Inspire. Create. Share. That's what I love to do. Isn't this Embossing Folder so lovely? I love the elegant feel it gives to my card!! I've combined it with the gorgeous Flourishing Phrases stamp set and the wonderful Flourish Thinlits Dies - so so lovely!! I'm thinking you'll be seeing LOTS of ideas from me using these divine framelits!! I hope you like them too!! (That way, you'll be happy to keep seeing my projects using them, and you'll keep reading my blogs posts!! teeheee)
We are showcasing the beautiful Love and Affection stamp set and coordinating Floral Affection Embossing folders in today's Artisan design team blog hop. For my first project, I wanted work this gorgeous matching patterned paper (from the Affectionately Yours pack) into the mix. I sometimes find it tricky to really feature a pretty paper in a way that allows it to shine, but I'm so pleased with how this design turned out. The Bold Butterfly framelit is a lovely shape for revealing just enough of this beautiful pattern to not feel too busy. The embossing folder and white bakers twine added subtle interest to the white panel. I've heat embossed the sentiment in white on black card to help it stand out from the vibrant background. I'm in love with the very on-trend shiny copper tones in this Specialty paper! I wanted to carry some copper over into my second project today. To do this I chose to stamp some Love and Affection flowers in VersaMark and heat set with the brand new Copper Emboss Powder. The colour scheme of the patterned paper pack made the colour selection for my spray of flowers super easy. Rather than tuck a doily in behind them, as would normally be my go-to subtle layering technique, I decided to add some detail from this second Floral Affection folder instead. Thank you for stopping by today. I know you'll have fun following the hop and browsing all the beautiful creations the rest of the team have come up with! Hello Stampin’ Friends ~ Today is a cute -n- simple card created with the Floral Affection Embossing Folder and the “Better Together stamp set, choosing the “forever friends”…
Here's one of my favorite cards that we made at our Simple, Beautiful Card Class lately... I love the flowers against the bold Night of Navy backdrop! And that embossing folder.... I just haven't had a chance to play with it as much as I would have liked this year. I'm sad to say it's retiring at the end of the month (or sooner, if supplies run out before then!). Read on to learn all about this card..... We start our card with a Night of Navy card base, then added a layer of Whisper White card stock that we embossed with one of the Floral Affection Embossing Folders. I love how the embossed flowers mirror the stamped flowers on this card! Floral Affection Embossing Folders 141713 Next, we added a strip of the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper to the bottom of our card. This has been one of favorite packs of Designer Series Paper from our current annual catalog - I am really going to miss it when it retires on May 31 (or sooner, if supplies run out before then!). Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper 141632 Then, we did our stamping (using the Love & Affection Stamp Set - this stamp set will retire on May 31)..... -our sentiment in Night of Navy ink -the leaf in Cucumber Crush ink -the flowers in Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil Delight ink Love & Affection Stamp Set 141545 We had to cut the flowers out with our Paper Snips (gasp! there's no framelit for these flowers!!). Thank goodness our super-sharp, super-precise Paper Snips make cutting detailed images a breeze - and they are a steal at just $10!! We also added a couple of Pearls to the center of our flowers. Unfortunately, our Pearls are retiring and already sold out. But, not to worry.... Stampin' Up! is just re-formatting our Pearls and Rhinestones, and they will be available for purchase again on June 1 :). Paper Snips 103579 I hope you enjoyed this card!
