We have been exploring "shades of meaning" aka synonyms for the last week to spruce up our writing. First we read this book: Then using paint strip samples from Home Depot and Lowe's, we brainstormed "shades" of overused words and created anchor charts. Created by the talented teacher next door:-) Finally these anchor charts were added to our writing wall for reference during Writer's Workshop. (Can you tell we're working on transition words as well?) I'd love to hear from you. Share an activity you have used for "shades of meaning."

So I had another play with this wonderful bundle and this time used the shopping trolley, well I used it for one of the cards.I love all the elements in this set and had great fun colouring them. I stamped a variety of images, die cut them and then set about colouring. Once done I decided which images would go on which card. The first card I created was the ‘Happy Birthday’ one. I wanted to really focus on the images and went for a simple, single line arrangement, overlapping and randomly placing
Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is a neutral palette; whites, grays, ivorys, browns or black. I chose browns for this card - Basic Beige and Early Espresso. The floral image was stamped in Early Espresso on Basic Beige cardstock and "colored" with Clear Wink of Stella. The W.O.S. picked up the ink from the stamped image like using a Water Painter, adding subtle shimmer, as well. I love the circle dies in the Spotlight on Nature bundle! I think they're going to be used a lot in the near future. That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.
