Hello, crafty friends. Today, I have a floral card to share with you following the new sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps!. The Petal Promenade DSP is so pretty that I had a hard time deciding what stamp set to use as I didn't want to cover too much of it up! lol Finally, I decided that the stemmed flowers from First Frost set would match perfectly, so I started from there. Of course the greenery from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits was an easy choice to complement my flowers. And just for fun I added a butterfly from the Beauty Abounds Bundle. Grapefruit Grove is my top favorite 2018-2020 In Color and doesn't it look great with Mossy Meadow? Of course, the Artisan Pearls match the subtle colors in the Petal Promenade DSP, so that was an easy accessory item to add for the final touch. I would love to see these pearls carry over to the next catalog. :) Here's this weeks sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps! created by Melissa. A super fun sketch to follow that will work with many of our designer series papers that are bold, busy and/or just plain beautiful. We would love for you to challenge yourself and play along with this weeks sketch challenge. Creating a card following a challenge is a great way to get those creative muscles working! The deadline to submit your entry is Friday, April 19, 2019. Note: Did you know that you can create an account for free at Splitcoast Stampers and then post your card there. Once its posted, you can grab the link to paste in the Sunday Stamps! linkup tool. Do you need help linking your card up? Please email me and I can help you with the link up! :) I used the Stamparatus (love) to help me get perfect stamped flowers using my Mossy Meadow, Grapefruit Grove and Blushing Bride markers. Hi everyone and welcome to Week 44 of our Colour Creations blog hop with the Art with Heart team. Striking a pose this week is the lovely neutral colour of Sahara Sand. Sahara Sand 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - Neutrals Collection In fact my card features all neutral colours, with the addition of Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy on a Whisper White card base, in my absolute favourite square sized card. Even though I think my Night of Navy ink pad needs re-inking, I really like the effect the flowers have going on here. The flower images have a water colour look to them, and actually, the less "juicy" your ink pad is, the better effect you'll get when stamping. The images and sentiment are from the First Frost stamp set that carried over from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue, and I purchased the stamp set and matching framelits as a bundle at the time. The bundle is no longer available, however they can be purchased separately. A set certainly worthy of a place in your collection - in my opinion. I embossed a piece of Sahara Sand with the Lace 3D embossing folder and wrapped a length of the 1/2" Night of Navy gingham ribbon around it. I stuck this piece onto a panel of Night of Navy and then attached it to the front of the card. I stamped the stem and leaves in Mossy Meadow onto a piece of Whisper White and cut this out with a stitched oval die. Then I sponged some Sahara Sand, lightly, over the image to give it an aged look. I almost ended up with it looking like Very Vanilla cardstock! Anyway, I stuck this onto a layering oval in Night of Navy and attached one of the flowers with tombow glue and the other with a dimensional. The oval was added to the front using dimensionals. I stamped the leaves tone on tone onto their matching cardstock and sat them both sides of the focal image with a touch of tombow and a few glue dots. The sentiment was die-cut with a stitched rectangle and popped on dimensionals. Lastly, I added three of the basic adhesive-backed sequins from the Annual Catalogue and the sweetest little bow of gingham ribbon. Here's the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the Best Bunny stamp set, stamped in Sahara Sand and the flowers look lovely here I think, again in Night of Navy. Well that's it from me tonight, thanks for stopping by. Hop over to Catherine's blog here, to see the rest of tonight's Sahara Sand creations from the team. If you're leaving a comment below, thank you so much. I read and appreciate them all. 💗 Until next time, Happy Crafting. 😘 Product List Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock [140490] $13.50 Sahara Sand A4 Card Stock [121695] $14.75 Night Of Navy A4 Card Stock [106577] $14.75 Mossy Meadow A4 Cardstock [133683] $14.75 Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad [147117] $13.00 Night Of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad [147110] $13.00 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad [147111] $13.00 First Frost Clear-Mount Stamp Set [148420] $38.00 Best Bunny Photopolymer Stamp Set [147136] $28.00 Simply Scored [122334] $50.00 Big Shot [143263] $159.00 Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies [147895] $57.00 Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies [145372] $50.00 Layering Ovals Framelits Dies [141706] $58.00 Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies [148551] $61.00 Night Of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon [144232] $13.00 Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins [146933] $12.25 Liquid Multipurpose Glue [110755] $7.00 Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] $6.00 Glue Dots [103683] $8.00
Good Day Crafty Friends, Welcome to October's Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month we are featuring the stunning First Frost Stamp Set. This was one of the first sets to hit my wish list when the Holiday Catalogue was released, I absolutely adore the water colour washed images. For this months challenge I created a gift box and a couple of cards. All the cards have a whisper white card base. The Gift Box has a Blushing Bride base with a Whisper White Lid. The Gift Box Lid has been stamped in Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo. The first card has panels of Soft Sea Foam, Powder Pink and Tropical Escape DSP. The images from Floral Frames have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo onto Whisper White and die cut. These have been mixed with the images from the First Frost stamp set and sentiment from Painted Glass. The second card has a card front that uses a similar floral display as the Gift Box, stamped in similar colours just more vividly by stamping the images a few times using my Stamparatus. The centered panel has been raised using white fun foam and then adhered to the card base with Tombow. This allows a little bit of wiggle room, as I eyeball everything when it comes to placement, and I find things with height can be deceiving when trying to get them straight. The third card is bright and colourful one. I have a whole pack of these gorgeous Coloured Doilies that I wanted to needed to stop hoarding and start using. The inspiration for this card was the Coastal Cabana Doily. I started by cutting one in half and adding bits and pieces until I was happy. A layer of Coastal Cabana card has been used to break up the white layers and coordinate with the doily. The sentiment from Follow Your Dreams stamp set has been adhered with foam strips for lots of height. To finish the card, a few Grapefruit Grove Faceted Dots have been added. The last card was fairly quick and simple and probably my favourite of the four. The card front is a piece of whisper white card ripped on an angle and stamped with the sentiment from Floral Frames. A piece of Sahara Sand card was embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder and adhered to the whisper white card base with Tombow. The two flowers from First Frost stamp set were inked in Berry Burst and Melon Mambo. The rest of the images have been stamped in Soft Sea Foam and Memento Tuxedo inks. The floral elements were adhered to a banner created from Sahara Sand card with dimensionals. To finish the card some Linen Twine was added and a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. The Gift Box is a fantastic size, this one holds a mini tea cup candle and its saucer with room for some choccies around the sides. Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to follow the hop all the way through for some creative and inspiring ideas using the Stitched All Around Bundle. A participant list has been provided below, just in case there are any hiccups along the Blog Hop journey. Participant List: Until next time, stay awesome, stay organised and stay crafty

Common Name: Snapdragon Tetra Mixed Scientific Name: Antirrhinum majus maximum Life Cycle: Perennial Remarks: Tall variety ideal for the vase. Slightly scented Planting advice: Light is required for germination, but a fine layer of vermiculite covering the seeds can maintain moisture levels and prevent algae growth. Type Of Seed: Open pollinated, a non-hybrid type of seed that can reproduce itself to have similar traits the parent plant from one generation to the next. If you are saving the seeds, as long as pollen is not shared between two varieties of the same species, the seeds should remain true to type year after year. 7-14 days 21-24°C Seed to Bloom: 115 days Number of Seeds: 500 Note: WA orders are sent weekly as they require quarantine inspections on arrival to WA
We have a fun vintage, country photo as inspiration this week at TGIF Challenges. See my project featuring First Frost with lots of country elements.
DAYS TO GERMINATION: 7-14 days at 70-75°F (21-24°C) SOWING: Transplant (recommended) - Surface-sow into open, or 20-row flats 8-10 weeks before last frost. Light is required for germination; cover just enough to hold seeds in place. Transplant into 72-cell plug flats at first true-leaf stage. Harden-off and transplant out after danger of frost has passed. Pinching encourages branching. Light is required for germination, but a fine layer of vermiculite covering the seeds can maintain moisture levels and prevent algae growth. Bottom water or mist lightly to avoid covering the seed with displaced soil. Transplant to cell packs or larger containers when the first true leaves appear, approximately 3-4 weeks after sowing. If desired, for a bushier plant that produces more flower-producing side branches, pinch young plants back by half their height when plants have formed 4-6 leaves or are approximately 3-4 inches tall. Pinching will delay the crop time by a few weeks. If pinching, space plants 6-12 inches apart. Direct seeding is not recommended. LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun/Part Shade. PLANT HEIGHT: Varies. PLANT SPACING: 4-12". HARDINESS ZONES: Annual. STEM LENGTH: 12-60". When grown as a one-cut, stems can be as long as the full height of the plants. When grown for multiple cuts per plant, stems vary in length at 12-36". VASE LIFE: 7-10 days. STORAGE TEMPERATURE: 32-40°F (0-4°C). HARVEST: Florets on lower 1/3- 1/2 of the spike are open. SOIL REQUIREMENTS: Rich, well-drained, moist soil. pH: Neutral soil is preferred. USES: Cut flower, edible flower.
Euphorbia hypericifolia 'Diamond Frost' is a tender evergreen perennial, usually grown as an annual, boasting a profusion of tiny white flowers reminiscent of baby’s breath from late spring to the first frosts. The upright stems are clad with widely spaced, narrow, gray-green to bright green leaves. Blooming continuously all season, this Euphorbia features a mounding habit and can be used as a filler in floral arrangements. While Diamond Frost might look delicate and frilly, it is actually tough as nails. Easy to grow, low care, heat and drought tolerant, disease resistant, it is a terrific addition to garden beds, containers and hanging baskets. Its small white flowers pair well with other flowering plants of almost any type or color
Full Sun (6+ Hours Direct Sunlight) Mature Height 3 - 4 Feet Mature Spread 2 - 3 Feet Growing Zones 5 - 10 Nothing says romance in a garden like a beautifully full and fragrant rose. The Alnwick® Rose is an incredibly romantic English shrub rose with gorgeous flowers that are perfect for any garden. The showy and cupped flowers open in a shade of soft pinkish coral, offset by gorgeous dark green and glossy foliage. The Alnwick® Rose flowers from early summer until the first frost. It was named after The Alnwick Garden in the UK. The flowers of The Alnwick® Rose exude a lovely Old Rose fragrance of sweet lemon with a hint of raspberry. This shrub rose has an upright, rounded yet slightly bushy habit. The smaller habit makes this rose a great choice for containers, groupings, and mixed borders. Alnwick® is considered disease resistant with a vigorous growth habit. The Alnwick® Rose Care The Alnwick® Rose prefers a location in full sun. It tolerates various soil types but does best in rich soil that is well drained. Roses prefer slightly acidic soil with a pH of around 6.5 or neutral. The Alnwick® Rose requires regular watering and does not tolerate wet feet. Provide the plant with good air circulation by not overcrowding the plant to avoid fungal diseases. The Alnwick® Rose does not require heavy fertilizer; feed in the springtime with an all-purpose, organic fertilizer or a rose-specific fertilizer with a higher proportion of phosphorus such as 18-24-16. Deadhead spent flowers of The Alnwick® Rose to extend the bloom period. Prune weak and old woody canes in the wintertime, and reduce the overall size of the shrub by half. Remove spent foliage in the winter time to reduce recurring foliar diseases. For container care, plant this shrub in an 8 - 15 gallon pot with good drainage. Place the container in a location that receives 5 - 6 hours of full sun a day and plenty of air circulation. Water the base of your potted rose plant when the top two inches of soil are dry. The Alnwick® Rose Spacing The Alnwick® Rose can grow up to 4 feet high and 3 feet wide. Space plants 30 - 36” apart to allow adequate room for growth. Product Description Agapanthus Snowy White is a beautiful hardy perennial that produces creamy white flowers above dense strappy spears of foliage. The flowers begin to bloom in July through to September and stand on strong sturdy stems that reach an eventual height of 70cm. An excellent choice for adding texture and character to patio containers or the front of garden borders; they can also be used in floral displays to be presented indoors. We recommend planting in well-drained soil in a sunny area of the garden where they will flourish. They can also be planted in more shaded areas where they will produce luxurious foliage but fewer flowers. Can be left in the ground but give a covering of mulch during winter as they are susceptible to frost. First grade loose plants supplied. Plant Size Mature Height 70 cm Mature Spread 40 cm Plant Spacing 30 cm Planting Notes Planting Plant with soil firmly surrounding the roots. Soil Type Moist, fertile and well drained soil Growing at a glance… To plant loose rooted agapanthus, start by soaking the roots in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours beforehand. Then, dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the root system. If you’re planting them in pots, then fill a large pot halfway with soil, adding the crown of the plant pointing upwards. Ensure the crown is just below the soil. Water well once planted. Loose rooted agapanthus should be planted in spring directly into the garden somewhere that gets plenty of sunshine.

Named by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) as one of their top 200 plants of the last 200 years, Cestrum parqui is truly one of the most amazingly floriferous perennials we grow. From Zone 8 south, Cestrum parqui actually behaves like a shrub and can reach 15' tall in very tropical locations, but only 5' in temperate climates. Beginning in early summer and continuing until first frost, our 6' wide, deer-resistant "bush" is smothered with both axillary and terminal floral clusters, each bearing hundreds of mustard-yellow flowers that attract hummingbirds. In early evening, the flowers emit a powerful fragrance that perfumes the garden, but disappears by morning. Willow-leaved jessamine is a virtual flowering machine that is perfect for a special full sun location. While Cestrum parqui is a prolific seed producer, the seedlings do not stray from around the base of the main clump.
Good Day Crafty Friends, Welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #53 Blog Hop. We have the most delightful colour combination for you to play along with this fortnight - Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. You can also add in some metallic s in the form of gold or silver. I have used four of the five challenge colours for my card - omitting Bermuda Bay. Starting with some of the Petal Pink DSP from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP Pack. The lace detail in this DSP is so awesome, photo's really do it no justice whatsoever. My card uses a combination of First Floral and Petal Palette stamp sets, along with the large die cut made with the Stitched labels Framelits. To finish the card I added a few Artisan Pearls in Mint Macaron to tie in with the heat embossed sentiment on the Mint Macron card stock. Sorry to keep this post so short and sweet, but as we go live with this Hop I am probably eating dinner with a few of the Colour Inkspiration Design Team in a restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand!!! How exciting is that!!! We are heading to the biannual Stampin' Up! event - Onstage Live. Keep an eye on the Design Team members social media accounts for up to date sharing from our three day event. We get to see and play with all the new goodies that are due to arrive with the release of the new Annual Catalogue. And, fingers crossed, I get to meet the founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!, Shelley and her daughter Sara and maybe get a sneaky selfie!! INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. SOWING: Transplant (recommended) - Sow 4-6 weeks before last frost. Barely cover as light aids germination. Transplant to cell packs or larger containers when the first true leaves appear. In the greenhouse, grow transplants at 50-55°F (10-13°C) to keep the plants from stretching. Harden off and transplant outside after the last frost. Direct seed - After last frost date. Successive plantings every 2-3 weeks until midsummer give the best quality flowers and pods. May require support. LIGHT PREFERENCE: Sun. PLANT HEIGHT: 24-36". Plant supports (such Hortonova used as a horizontal trellis) are required. PLANT SPACING:
