This is a parenting/caregiver tool to identify and work through emotions & feelings. Often we use (and I sell plenty of) reward / consequence tools, but these are a scratch the surface fix. Ideally, we need to help our little ones figure out what’s going on in their heads, help them process through it, and show them the tools to help themselves. This chart is meant as an Aid to help you guide your child through their feelings, open up a dialog of self discovery and then to teach them the tools to get them back on track. Unlike my other Colorful Thermometer Behavior Charts none of the colors on this one are bad. Ideally we would always love to stay in the Green Zone, but that’s just not life. Sometimes (a lot of times) hard times and hard emotions come….the sooner we can identify our feelings and address them the happier and healthier we can be. More about the different zones later on but first some information about what you are purchasing! This listing is for the Larger chart of the two featured. You may add on the travel cards for an additional cost. (see clickdowns on right hand side). 1 Zones Chart set up with room for 1 to 6 names. The chart measures 8.5 x 11 and will ship with two 1/2“ by 4” magnets. If you purchase the add on you will also receive 4 Zones Travel cards measuring 3 in x 4 in with attached chain. Now more about the Zones! Here are the zones you may find yourself in: RED ZONE: Mad, Yelling, Out of Control. What’s really going on? Let’s figure it out! Overtired? Need food? or perhaps its heavier then physical needs and its emotional….Perhaps your feeling unheard? Invisible? Overlooked? Betrayed? Mistreated? Tricked? Mocked? Hated? Tough stuff, but resolvable….. a time out is the opposite of a fix for a child that feels invisible =). Yellow Zone: Worried, Frustrated, Excited. These could be more acutely described as feeling: nervous? burdened? panicky? Uneasy? Nauseous? Insecure? Obsessed? Jittery? Driven? Determined? Green Zone: Calm, Happy, Ready to Learn and Play (if only we could live here =) ). Pleased, relieved, satisfied, comforted, relaxed, composed, secure Blue Zone: Sad, Tired, Sick: In more detail perhaps: crushed? dejected? depressed? uneasy? heavy? detached? disconnected? Listless? withdrawn? indifferent? bored? Life can be challenging at times but learning what our feelings are telling us is key to being our best selves =).
