I used the Stampin’ Up! Enjoy Life stamp set from the upcoming 2018-19 Annual Catalog to create my card to share with you today.
That is one of the greetings in the Enjoy Life stamp set, and it is perfect for any go-getter in your life! My go-getter is my daughter, who is two classes shy of attaining her second Master's Degree (this time in Math), who will be teaching AP Statistics at her high school next fall, who is training for her first Marathon race in July, and who (along with her husband) just went under contract on a lovely home in the Seattle area, so they'll be moving next month. Whew - it wears me out just writing that! Anyhoo, I just wanted to send her some happy mail and let her know that I think she is awesome. She gets up before dawn every day to accomplish everything on her "to do" list, so I thought a sunrise would be appropriate. The silhouette even looks like her! The inside was stamped with the retired Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Amazing You, and the die-cut was also a SAB item, but the Celebrate You Thinlits dies are in the new catalog! I added some spots from the Playful Backgrounds set, and used the Seaside embossing folder for some texture behind the image. This was a REALLY easy card to make. I hope she likes it! Yesterday was our card group at Meg's. We had so much fun and she really challenged us. We started out making a pineapple treat box. I can't show you a picture because I failed...even with Meg's help! BUT, I can give you a link so you can make it! The Paper Pixie. Meg also had us make a card, which I am posting today. It was a CASE of Debbie Henderson's card. Here it is... We used Grapefruit Grove card stock for our base. We used an aqua painter to swish Pineapple Punch ink and Grapefruit Grove ink on the Whisper White panel. The banners are those same colors and all the stamping is from the Enjoy Life set. I added Grapefruit Grove Faceted Dots. All of these products will be available June 1. I finished the inside after I got home, using the retired Banner Blessings stamp set. This card has already gone out in the mail! If you would like more info on measurements, let me know. Thanks for stopping by.

For some reason today's two cards weren't photographed and posted at the time I made them. I wonder why...hmm, could I have been too busy bouncing around in rabbit holes? It's more than possible, wouldn't you say? Any-who, as you'll see, they both use one of SU's new stamp sets that I was lucky enough to pre-order. For the first I've used...wait for it...yes, distress oxide inks. You got me! The second, though, uses one of my favourite SU colours and sadly, one that is being retired. Noooooooooooooooooo! I will miss soft sky A. LOT. Materials used: stamps - Enjoy Life card - whisper white, basic black other - distress oxide inks, blender tool, white embossing powder, heat tool, mounting tape, sponge dauber Materials used: stamps - Enjoy Life card - soft sky, basic black, whisper white other - Rainbow builder die, Big Shot, MFT mini cloud stencil, sponge, Stamparatus, mounting tape Not the greatest photos...hmmm, gotta work on that. Thanks for dropping in. Cheers Kez
Did you order some of the new goodies from the catalog yet? As a demonstrator I had the opportunity to pre order some of the new items, so I al ready had time to play with them! Of course I went for a huge order with new stuff on the first of June as well! To get totally in the new goodies mood I'd like to share some cards with a new stamp set, Enjoy Life, with you today! I've shown you a card created with this stamp set on my blog before, it's just so gorgeous! You'll find a lady and dude in this set that you can stamp as a silhouette, I just love it! I used a sponged background for both my cards, just such an amazing technique with a stunning result! I use Whisper White paper for this technique and start with applying the lightest color first. Dip your sponge on your inkpad and then dip it once or twice on a different paper before you start on your card with circling movements. Then build your card up with darker colors. I used Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight for this card. After applying the ink I always like to add some waterdrops to give it a fun effect. I just hold my hands under water and then let a few drops fall of my hands on the card. I dry it simply by putting a paper towl on the card. I used three colors for my second card, Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel and Bermuda Bay. I just love the last color, so I'm very happy it is still with us after the Color Revamp! After applying the ink and waterdrops on your paper, it's time to stamp the silhouetttes. I used my Stamparatus to stamp these to get a rich stamped image. When your first stamp attempt didn't get you a full black image, no worries when you're using the Stamparatus! Just ink your stamp up again for another go untill you get the image you want! Thanks for visiting, see you next time! I’ve played with the Brusho a fair bit on my own, but after many requests, decided it was time to create a project to take to my monthly stamp classes! Brusho is something that while beautiful, can be a bit uncontrolled, so I wanted a project that even my most meticulous students would enjoy: ... Read More about Enjoy Life with Brusho Background

I always seem to have leftovers and tidbits from projects that didn't work out on my desk. After accumulating a number of pieces, I find it challenging to see what I can make out of them. I had a few things on my desk this week from a number of workshops, personal cards I was making and a team meeting that was held on Sunday. So I started with this: But I had an idea pretty quickly of what I might like to make; so off I started: Now my Enjoy Life girl was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, so I knew the "Happy Birthday" on a Whisper White background was not going to work, but at least it gave me an idea. And then I saw this on my desk: Now we may be getting somewhere... How about a Soft Seafoam card base (since the Bokeh Dots background behind the figure is stamped in Soft Seafoam)? But it needs to stand out a little more. I know - how about some Basic Black, to match the silhouette of the girl: OK, coming together. I think I want to cut the thinlits twice - once in Soft Seafoam and again in Black, so they can be layered. I use a Silicone Mat and some Liquid Glue to sponge the letters: Then I can adhere the layers together: Nice! But I'll need a little texture behind the Happy Birthday: Whoa! Too much! OK, I'm liking this with the Subtle Embossing Folder. And done! I just added a few of the retired Glitter Enamel Dots (older colors, but one of them coordinated well with the Soft Seafoam). And that's it for another Wednesday's "What's on the Desk?". What do you think? I love to hear what you are thinking, and read every comment. Please let me know how you like my card this week. And if you want to create your own, I've listed the products used below. Just click on a picture of the product and go right to my online store. Thanks for visiting!
