Hi Everybody, This is a card I did quite some time ago and I am now being asked how to do it. And so the video is added here to show the steps. And the beauty of this is that it can be done from any die that you already have in your "Stash" that has a fancy edge to it and you will get the same result. This card is using the 5x7 Detailed Scallops and the card it creates is a nice size to add things to in layers. I have created the hinge at the top but it could just as easily be hinged to make it landscape style. This is a smaller card created from the Decorative Labels Eight but the effect is just as pretty. Grab your cuppa and take time to relax ... and then enjoy making the card for yourself. You may need to pass the card through your machine a couple of times to get the layer on the hinge to cut ... depending on which die cutter you use But persevere and then gently ease it from the die and you will be delighted with the result. Hi Friends! It’s Wednesday and time again for the weekly sketch at Splitcoaststampers! Allison is our sketch artist this week for the SC673 Challenge and I thought this layout would be perfect for a Christmas card! I decided to play along with the As You Like It “Favourite Christmas Colour andWhy?” Challenge (I love deep dark reds with green, white and silver at Christmas- a home style Christmas color combination that reminds me of my childhood) plus the Hand Stamped Sentiments #278 Inspiration Challenge and the Global Design Project #115 “Christmas Joy” Theme Challenge into the design. If you have not had a chance to visit the SC673 Splitcoaststampers’ Sketch gallery or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all! This card is primarily die-cutting and was very easy to create: 1). Using the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Elegant Embellishments Dies, die cut a base ornament from Real Red cardstock and another from Whisper White cardstock. 2). With the ODBD Elegant Embellishments Dies intricate ornament dies, die cut one of each from Silver Foil and layer onto the base ornaments from Step #1. 3). Position the ODBD Pierced Circle Die on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cut. Remove the circle from the panel and emboss the panel with a lace brocade embossing folder. Mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base. Score a 1” strip of Real Red cardstock and add to the right hand side of the card (per the sketch). 4). Re-insert the die cut circle into the panel and adhere to the card front. 5). Using various green cardstock, die cut pieces of pine and other greenery with the ODBD Lovely Leaves Dies and mount to the center of the circle (per the sketch). 6). Add a bit of silver cord to each ornament. Mount the white ornament directly to the card front (covering up the ends of the foliage) and mount the red ornament with dimensional foam. 7). With Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp the sentiment from ODBD Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the fish tail banner by hand. Mount onto the card with dimensional foam. 8). To finish off the card, add a few Rhinestones to the centers of the ornaments and use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the foliage. Stamp Sets: Mini Tag Sentiments (Our Daily Bread Designs) Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi; Silver Foil Accessories/Tools: Big Shot™, ODBD Dies- Pierced Circles, Elegant Embellishments, Fancy Foilage; retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Scoring Tool, Silver Cord, Rhinestones Thanks again for stopping by to visit! If you have time, come join us at Splitcoaststampers for this week’s sketch challenge! Hugs and I hope all of you have a wonderful week, sweet friends!
I wanted to make a dainty card for this week’s sketch challenge and started with the Elegant Borders Dies and then added the pretty teacup from the Everyday Details Stamp Set.
Good morning dear blog friends! There's lots to cover today so here's the short version -- a card and matching box and a video to show you how, a new background stamp, questions about paper for the honeycomb ornament and a surprise tonight at midnight -- read my entire post to get all the details!…
Hello Everyone. A wee while time between blog updates, I'm sorry to say. This is my latest card created for Kaaren at FatCatsCardCorner, The cut and emboss frame is a Marianne Designable called Vintage, I've hand cut the centre out added a score line down either side with my Martha Stewart Score Board and inked all the edges with some dusky pink ink ( a small 1 inch Kaisercraft one called Fairy Floss). I then layered this over a piece of the same card stock onto which I have stamped the sentiment from the Stamp-It set Wording with black Memento Ink and the dots stamp from the Stamp-It set with the same pink ink as the edging. The roses I made from cream card stock and again inked with the Fairy Floss ink. I used the six petal flower Marianne Creatable die to make them using just the largest die. The butterfly is a Spellbinders die and also cut from the same card stock and inked with the pink ink. Thank you so much for visiting and please leave a comment, as I love to hear from you.

Here are the details of how you can be a winner: Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers blogs to receive a $15 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps. Here is my first card: I just love the new Aster and Leaves dies! Such a beautiful bloom! I added some blush ink to the petals and put it all together adding a rhinestone for the center. The scripture is from the new Cherry Blossom set. I used the Vintage Flourish Pattern die to cut the background layer. I added snippets of the Fancy Foliage die cuts as well as some rhinestones to complete the card. My next card is a little bit shabby: I used some of the new gorgeous Blushing Rose paper for this one. I added some white paint to give it the whitewashed look. The outside edges are lined with Beautiful Borders die cuts. I colored the roses from the new set called Rose with copics and fussy cut them. I adhered them to the Ornate Heart die cuts. I completed the card with a pretty bow and some rhinestones! Here are the ODBD products I used for these two projects: Now don't forget to go visit my DT sisters' blogs and make a comment for your chance to win! The sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week has so many possibilities. I stuck almost literally to the sketch and came up with this card: I had a doily left over from my card the other day so that became the focal point for this card. I also decided I wanted a cream on cream look with a pop of color. The DSP comes from what is probably my favorite paper - Love Letters. And I'm loving those Designer Builder Brads! Thanks for looking. Products used (all Stampin' Up!): Stamps: Feeling Sentimental Cardstock: Very Vanilla; Love Letters DSP; Raspberry Ripple Ink: Raspberry Ripple Accessories: Delicate Doilies Sizzlet; Large Scallops Edgelit; Designer Builder Brads; Itty Bitty Punch; Lacy Brocade EF; Fancy Fan EF Cheers Karren
