I'll confess that I purchased this stamp set because I loved the sample on page 6 of the SU! Idea Book & Catalog. Yes, I bought the set to make this sample. Will be sharing this project this month at all of my workshops...looking forward to share. When I first flicked through the pages of the current Annual Catalogue is was one of the sets that I just 'Had to Have'! I love it so much but with all the Christmas crafts that have been going on I haven't had much time to really play with it! There are 6 butterfly images as well as one set of antennae. Three of the images can be punch out with the co-ordinating punch Elegant Butterfly Punch. The stamp set and punch are sold separately. Contact me today on how you can get yours! I made this card using this great set and punch is... I layered the stamped butterfly image with the co-ordinating card stock colour. I folded the wings up slightly too, to make the butterflies look like they were 'fluttering'. Love the way they look. Thanks for looking! Here's the second Pinterest-inspired card we'll be making tomorrow. I loved this card and was lucky enough to have the same embossing folder. It was a bit dusty and I'm not sure I'd even used it before. It makes for a very pretty background, so I need to remember that I have it more often. :) I used a couple Stampin' Up! sets, Papillon Potpourri and Petite Pairs. I colored the butterflies with Blendabilities markers. I had a nice mommy break yesterday. Lunch alone and then my volunteer time with the kitties. It was a little time away and just enough to recharge. I keep getting horrible headaches this week, so I ended up with another one once I got home. I think they are sinus/allergy related, but I'm not sure because they are getting close to migraine level. We seem to be getting a lot of weather changes, so maybe they will go away after Fall truly settles in. Laila had a sweet day yesterday with lots of hugs and kisses for us, so yay for that. :) Oh, if you like to try new recipes, let me recommend this one that we had last night! Baked Pumpkin French Toast was a Pinterest WIN!

Morning everyone how's your week going? It's Wednesday already so halfway through the week. Today's project is using two Stampin Up sets Papillon Potpourri and the coordinating punch and the Serene Silhouettes. I love creating interesting backgrounds and building a scene. I took a circle mask and then with so saffron crisp cantaloupe & crumb cake created s subtle scene. Using the flower silhouette in black I stamped outside the circle to draw the eye into the scene and then added the butterflies flying through from the bottom to the top. This card is beautiful for any occasion but with Mother's Day approaching I thought this would be ideal. I hold regular workshops/classes from my home in Farnham Surrey where you can learn these techniques so please get in touch [email protected]. There will be a couple more classes in March to take advantage of the freebies on offer. Classes fill up quickly so don't hesitate. This is probably one of my favourite techniques as I love the 3D effect of this card. All the products used are available through Stampin Up the link is at the top of the page and when ordering please use me Jane Allmark as your demonstrator of choice. Thanks so much.
Monday 14th September was my second ever Card & Cuppa morning and these are the cards I designed. I just can’t get enough of the Curvy Corner Trio Punch at the moment, it’s got to be my favourite product to come out in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue. Here I’ve used it in a couple of ...
Hey what happened to Wednesday?? I meant to pop on & post the second card we made at Technique Tuesday but I guess time just got away for me...AS USUAL! Anyway I'm here now so here is the card. I saw a great card on Erica Cerwin's blog & I just had to case some of her elements. I love how this card came out! I wanted to preserve the natural feel so I didn't add any embellishments & just let the focus be on the beautiful butterflies! I used Daffodil & Pumpkin markers to color the butterflies. It's easy peasy but if anyone wants a quick video done on how I did it just let me know. Thanks for stoppin by today! P.S. Just an FYI the Butterfly punch Stamp Camp has been RESCHEDULED! Please check my events calender for info.
Another card from my March Stampin Class. We made this card using Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies and the Swirly Bird stamp set along with Papillon Potpourri butterflies. I love the way Perfect Plum, Pool Party and Sahara Sand coordinate together. The greeting is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
At a recent get together of the Stampin' Up group that I belong to, I was asked to demonstrate some backgrounds created by using various techniques. As promised to the Stampin' Up ladies at our get together I will be posting over the next week instructions and photos of the backgrounds that I demonstrated. The first background is the Retiform Technique which I found on Splitcoast Stampers with a great tutorial . This is a great technique using post-it notes and cardstock scraps to create the masks for the sponging and stamping. I started with a piece of Naturals White cardstock and using a scrap of Naturals White to create the mask, I sponged on Baked Brown Sugar ink for my first line. There is no correct pattern to this, just create your gridlines where you want then to go. Below are a pictures of the first steps, sponging on Baked Brown Sugar to create the divisions where you will be stamping. I sponged so that the ink is on the inside of the lines, however you can sponge so that ink is on the outside of the lines. It just depends upon what effect you want to create, experiment to see which method you like best, just be consistent otherwise the technique will not work. The next step is to sponge a light base colour over the entire piece. I have used Crumb Cake, this is done randomly, leaving some light patches (just make sure that you have inked over the entire piece so that no Naturals White is showing through). You are now ready to start stamping. Mask off the centre piece with Post-it Notes to stamp the first image. It does not matter if you off stamp over the edge of the mask, it does look better if some of the images are stamped off centre or partially off the masked piece. Build up each section using a variety of stamps and inks to create the effect that you want. You continue to mask off the various sections and continue stamping until you have built up the piece and all the sections have been stamped. I used Jet Black Staz-on, Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake for the stamping along with stamps from the En Francais, Backyard Basics, Flowering Flourishes, Papillon Potpourri and Everything Eleanor stamp sets, along with the Music Note Stampin' Wheel. (Tip: I take the stamp off the Stampin' Wheel and fix it to a piece of Perspex to create a stamp which I find much easier to use than the Stampin' Wheel). The sentiment is from the Peaceful Petals stamp set. Once the background piece is finished you can now make your card. I have used a Basic Black card base, along with some Victoria Crochet Trim and the Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches for the sentiment. Inside of the card - I try and finish the inside of my cards to match the front. It just gives a nice finishing touch instead of a blank card inside. This is a very basic technique but you can get some terrific effects with it by using different grid patterns and ink colours. The card below is one that I cased from Gina K designs, I just loved the colours (I used Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso on Naturals White and Early Espresso cardstock.) I used the same gridlines and design for my card above. Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest Creating Backgrounds - Retiform Technique
Hey there! Thought it was time for a really spring-y card! I received a version of this card as a swap last spring, and I've been "saving" it for a workshop card whenever the right group needed it. A workshop...
I designed this for my make and take this month and many people wow'd but once they made it they realized how simple it was to make and it made for a great make and take. Unfortunately I did not have the new paper piercing tool with its more ergonomic handle so I got a little more carpal tunnels symtoms today but really was easy to do. Take a Pool Party CS and emboss the edge using the Delicate Designs Folder- is this thing gorgeous or not? I so love our embossing folders! Then I diecut a whisper white CS using Apothecary Accents Framelit, used the new Essentials paper-piercing pack, lined up the die and poked the holes around. Stamped the butterflies using Early Expresso onto scraps of Pool party, Calypso coral and Lucky Limeade CS and punched them out using the butterfly punch. Lined them up to where I thought the sentimen would best fit and stamped the sentiment using same Expresso inkpad with sentiment from Just Believe set, then added the butterflies using dimensionals cut in half on just the center of the butterfly bodies so the wings are free to flap and really truly easy peasy card. Hey, any card that requires no scissor work in my book is two thumbs up!

Hi there! Thanks for joining me for the final day of the Papertrey Ink February Countdown. It's also group post day two and today we bring you samples of the Movers & Shakers product line. I'm thrilled to be working with this line up because its possibilites are endless and it's a ton of fun making and seeing a card come to life in more than one way. For today's projects I've chosen to work with one of the Movers & Shakers: Poppers Dies, which allowed me to tuck a sweet surprise inside.I'll start things off with a combination of two soon to be released sets... Simply You and Beautiful Butterflies. I began by stamping the front of a Rustic White card base with butterflies in a color combo of Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz & Orange Zest. Then stamped "You" from the Simply You stamp set, in Smokey Shadow ink. Incorporated the same color combo from the outside of the card onto the inside. Die cut the Movers & Shakers: Popper spiral die and attached it to the top and bottom of the inside of the card. Randomly attached die cut and hand cut butterflies along the spiral. Die cut and stamped an additional large butterfly in Sweet Blush and then stamped again with Background Basics: Medallion (available February 15th) in Raspberry Fizz. Attached it at the end of the spiral, embellished with a button and then finished the card off with a Simply You sentiment. My next pairing is Mover & Shaker Sentiments with Up, Up & Away. Die cut, stamped and colored two Up, Up & Away hot air balloons and attached them to a Soft Stone card base along with a few die cut clouds. Then stamped with a Mover & Shakers sentiment. Die cut a spiral from white cardstock and attached (looking back at my card now, I think I should have gone with a Soft Stone spiral instead). Randomly attached a bunch of clouds and a few hot air balloons. Then finished the card off with a Movers & Shakers sentiment to coordinate with the sentiment on the front of the card. So there you have it! Be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in-store for you today... Here's a card I came across that we did back in April but I just love it so I thought I would still share it with you. The sentiment and border image are retired but you can certainly find something that would work! This is a center step card with the butterflies in the center floating above the sentiment. This was done by using small strips of window sheets and securing them to the back of the "step" where the sentiment goes. Here is the inside of the card which gives you plenty of room to sign and write a birthday wish. Here is a picture of the measurements for cutting and scoring for this card. It's spring, which means flowers and butterflies and a butterfly special from Stampin' Up!. Everyone loves butterflies, and coordinating butterfly stamp sets and punches are a very versatile addition to your scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies. Stampin' Up! have a great stamp set called Papillion Potpourri with 2 coordinating punches. As you can see above, the punches nest perfectly and can also be used with card stock or patterned paper. So versatile! (In the card above, I have clear embossed the flourish from Flowering Flourishes as the background). The great news is, this month you can get 15% off the Papillion...

Good afternoon! Another late post but we were off at 8.30 this morning to go and do our dancing exams!!! They all went really well. My Evan danced beautifully, he is really growing up and he did an exam in the next level up! I had 6 dances to dance for my exams and then 6 to dance with my partner Paul for his! Had a slight hitch though whilst dancing Paul's Foxtrot! My heel got caught in a nick in the floor and my shoe flew off! I ended up dancing half the routine in just one shoe!!!! Yesterday I held my monthly Technique Club and we used the Flowering Flourishes stamp set. This is a gorgeous stamp set and it is exactly as the name of it suggests, Flowering Flourishes!!!! This was our first card - the "warm up" card. We used a colour combination of Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum and Baked Brown Sugar for the afternoons projects. I showed the ladies how to colour the stamps with the marker pens, there was a lot of huffing (on the stamp after we had coloured it!). We stamped some butterflies and then used an aquabrush to take some of the ink from the edges to colour them in! The sentiment is from Label Love - 3 weeks of owning this stamp and punch and I think I have Label Love!!!! I have one tired little boy on the sofa now under his duvet! I think I may go and join him! See you tomorrow!
