As you might've realized from our publications on the Facebook group 'What in the $20 wish tattoo machine is this?' or the 'That's It, I'm Inkshaming' group, sadly, subpar tattoos are pretty common. Which makes the good ones even more admirable.

Join our guest designer Brenda Noelke from My PaperCut Creations as she shared gorgeous cardmaking inspiration with the Make it Merry Limited Edition Holiday Cardmaking Kit! Hello! I’m super excited to be guest posting on the Spellbinders blog and sharing five cards that I created with the Make It Merry Christmas Kit!! This kit is chock-full of enough supplies to create at least 25 cards!! It comes with EVERYTHING, from card bases, cardstock, and even adhesive!! My first card combines cardstock, patterned paper, die-cut shapes, chipboard embellishments, puffy stickers, and sequins… I trimmed a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than A2 and adhered it to a panel of A2 white cardstock. I adhered the die-cut shapes and sentiment, then the puffy stickers and chipboard embellishments. I added a few sequins to finish it off. My second card combines two different patterned papers, foil paper, die-cut shapes, a chipboard embellishment, and puffy sticker… For this one, I trimmed the green snowflake-patterned paper and adhered it to the tree-patterned paper. I trimmed a strip of the gold foil paper and adhered it where the two papers meet. The die-cut shapes were adhered with adhesive, popping up the center gift with foam squares. The chipboard sentiment and puffy stickers were adhered to finish it off. I used patterned paper, cardstock, die-cut shapes, a chipboard sentiment, and puffy sentiment on my third card… The polka-dot patterned paper was trimmed slightly and adhered to an A2 panel of pink cardstock. The pre-printed die-cuts were adhered with adhesive and foam squares. I adhered the puffy sentiment, then the chipboard sentiment and heart, and this one was finished. My fourth card was created with die-cut shapes, a chipboard embellishment and sentiment, and a gemstone… For this one, I trimmed the striped patterned paper slightly and adhered it to an A2 panel of white cardstock. I trimmed the tag in half and adhered it at the top and bottom of the sentiment die-cut. The chipboard sentiment and embellishment were both adhered, then the die-cut shapes were popped up with foam squares. A single red gemstone was adhered in the hole of the tag. My fifth and final card combines two different patterned papers, die-cut shapes, chipboard embellishments and sentiments, and puffy stickers… This one may be my favorite!! I trimmed the gold foiled patterned paper and adhered it down the center of an A2 panel of the green foiled script paper. I adhered a tag, then just arranged all of the other elements until I liked the layout, then adhered them with adhesive and foam squares. That does it for me today!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Have a great day and happy crafting!!
Revisiting artist Ilias Walchshofer seems like the perfect way to close out the week. I’ve just rediscovered his work on social media and was reminded of how lovely his doodles are. The Austrian-Moroccan illustrator, also known as Dr. Propolus,…

There’s a couple of methods for creating complex circular patterns in Adobe Illustrator. One technique uses pattern brushes, but it involves designing multiple patterns that seamlessly repeat, which can be a difficult task in itself. Alternatively, you can make use of Illustrator’s symbol feature to create a pseudo kaleidoscope effect where a segment of your […]
For Daniel Cooney, it began with Superperson. After spending his childhood doodling dinosaurs and imaginary creatures, Mr. Cooney took his first steps towards what would be his eventual career with the 120-issue comic featuring the “stick figure Superman.” He worked on the series from sixth grade right up through high school, penciling his friends and family into the action, and occasionally getting into trouble for drawing in class. Today Mr. Cooney is still drawing in class, but as an instructor he’s no longer getting disapproving looks.
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." ~Oprah Winfrey My Mum said let's have a tea party for your birthday this year it's been a little while since we've had one. So we did! I am turning 35 this year and yet I wanted to do something that made me feel like a child again where I could dress up and play. Inspired by the abundance of flowers, ribbons, and flowy dresses of my new obsession Loveshack Fancy we set about creating a little fantasy for an afternoon full of flowers, lace, and handmade decorations. There was even a fairytale scavenger hunt! Everything we needed for a magical afternoon...

Lately I have been sharing a lot of “how-to” posts that have all included tutorials on doodling or drawing different things like banners and lettering. I’ve focused on these things because they’re what I do and what I know best, but I know that isn’t everyone's style. So, toda
