How's this for a tea-cozy? (source) No, I didn't knit it. Oh my goodness, I am laughing just thinking that someone might have thought that. I am so lame at knitting that I am still working on doll blankets and shams. haha! But, I do really want to learn to knit this. I did knit a couple of sweaters many many moons ago but it took me forever. I'm going to have to get practicing more and then someday I will attempt this. If God is my witness...hahaha! As winter drags on we enjoy some coffee and muffins. To me, coffee tastes better in a tea-cup. The recipe for the blueberry muffins is in my previous post. It is a little milder today than the weekend and the sun is trying hard to show it's face. The cats are all cozy and warm. Sierra is always well prepared for a dull, dreary day, though. "Always pack a feather" is her motto. I'm joining Sandi athttp://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.ca/ for Tea Cup Tuesday. hugs, Deb

Chinese glazed porcelain blue turquoise teapot in the shape of the longevity peach. Kangxi period 1662 - 1722 Wonderful teapots ..... but can they make a cuppa ? I have been trying to fathom for ages what makes ceramicists succumb to quirky fits of madcap creativity and bold innovation when they become immersed in the creation of a teapot. Ever since Sheng Nun sipped his first cup of tea and extolled its virtues, the Chinese have held the beverage in high esteem and produced very refined teapots as a sign of respect. The Japanese turned tea drinking into a religion,

We had a FANTASTIC New Beginnings last night. Our theme was based on the Dr. Seuss book "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" The invitation: This is what the room looked like: Each girl participated in some way (some with decorations, others with speaking parts). We had an AWESOME guest speaker. She is a musician and has written mostly EFY music. She connected so well with the girls. The best part of the night was her performing an original song, written for our New Beginnings that had "Oh, the Places You'll Go" in the title, but she tied it in to Stand in Holy Places. We gave each girl crazy Seuss-like socks to remind them to always let their feet take them to holy places. The socks: The girls LOVED the socks. They put them on right away and some were willing to pose for me. I got the socks from Target. Here are the files for invitations and sock label: Invite - Microsoft Publisher file, Word (docx), or PDF Sock Label - Microsoft Publisher file, or PDF Banner - PDF Sign Posts - PDF

If anyone has read "The Cat in the Hat" book, by Dr. Seuss, you should be all too familiar with the responsible fish named "Clark"! His famous lines, goes a little something like this, "He should not be here. He should not be about. He should not be here when your mother is out!" (referring to the Cat in the Hat, who so rudely barges into Sally and Conrad's home). We named our two fish Sally and Conrad! I couldn't let this character, from the book, go unnoticed, so I decided to send each child home with a beautiful little gold fish, contained in a glass bowl filled with glass beads, and a container of fish food. I thought this sign framed printable (I just made it myself off of word) was a cute addition to display. Unfortunately, the party room was so busy, I am not sure anyone was even able to spot it and read it to their child(ren). 1. Goldfish - .13 cents 2. Fish bowl - $1.00 3. Ribbon - $2.99 per roll 4.
