La Estela Funeraria con Patrón de Rueda es una estela datada aproximadamente entre los siglos VI d.C. y VII d.C. (período comprendido entre los años 501 d.C. y 700 d.C.), perteneciente al arte medieval, en concreto al arte bizantino. Estela Funeraria con Patrón de Rueda Cabe destacar que el año del hallazgo es desconocido, sin embargo los investigadores piensan que la estela puede proceder de la ciudad de Quina (también conocida como Kena o Kaine). Ubicada en la ribera oriental del río Nilo, situada en el gobernación de Quina, en el Alto Egipto. También se conoce que perteneció al marchante de arte Michael Casira, que residía en la ciudad de El Cairo (Egipto). Hasta que en el año 1.910 d.C. fue comprada por el Museo Metropolitano de Arte de Nueva York (Estados Unidos de América), dónde pasó a formar parte de su colección de arte. Descripción Tiene una altura de 27 cm, una anchura de 21 cm y una profundidad de 6 cm. Está fabricada en piedra caliza, mediante las técnicas de tallado e incisión. Se trata de una pequeña estela funeraria con forma irregular, lo que indica a los investigadores de que la estela podría haber formado parte de un monumento mayor, que presenta una de sus caras grabadas con un patrón y una inscripción. Estela Funeraria con Patrón de Rueda La parte superior se encuentra ornamentada por un patrón circular de una rueda compuesta por un total de ocho triángulos dispuestos radialmente. Además la rueda está rodeada por una banda ornamentada mediante un patrón de greca decorado con pequeñas ruedas de cuatro triángulos. También se puede apreciar como situada en la parte central derecha hay grabada una cruz. En la parte inferior de la estela hay una inscripción escrita en idioma copto (también conocido como egipcio copto). Aunque cabe destacar que parte de la inscripción es ilegible, tan solo se ha podido traducir lo siguiente: "Hay un solo Dios ... ". Para finalizar subrayar que los investigadores creen que la Estela Funeraria con Patrón de Rueda formaba parte de un conjunto de estelas que fueron producidas durante el período bizantino en Egipto en grandes cantidades para después modificar cada estela para adaptarla un uso individual. Actualmente se encuentra en el Museo Metropolitano de Arte de Nueva York, Estados Unidos de América.
