This History Station activity is a different format for teaching document-based questions. There are 7 primary or secondary source documents (including 2 maps, one image and one chart). Each document is printed on individual sheets of paper which become the 7 stations set up around the classroom. Each student gets a handout which includes the AIM, the historical context and the question or questions around each document. (Students will need clipboards for this activity) This lesson allows for students to get out of their chairs and move around the classroom and interact with each other as they go from station to station. This lesson also saves time (less time at the copier!) and paper for teachers who only need to print the primary sources once and the handout for each student instead of printing a multiple page DBQ for each student. This History station has students look at the Bubonic Plague and the resulting increase in trade between Europe and Asia. It is based on this traditional DBQ: Black Death in Medieval Europe https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Black-Death-in-Medieval-Europe-DBQ-840851 This activity addresses the Common Core State Standards.
