Howdy, I'm back again with another new Cuttlebug embossing folder, this one is called Leafy Branch. I rearranged the items on this card several times because I wanted to be stingy about how much of the leaves would be covered up - that's how I settled with the half oval shape. Here again…
I had no inspiration nor any particular reason for making this card today. It was one of those days where I just felt like dabbing into tho...

Hot Pink! I was in high school {yes, during the mid 80's :-)} when this color became so popular - from hot pink cigarette pants to hot pink hair accessories. It was a bit of nostalgia when I saw the color challenge hosted by The Play Date Cafe. A splash of HOT PINK over white and black... I used my Cuttlebug Leafy Branch emboss folder to create a clean and feminine background which I embellished with pearls. The sentiment is heat-embossed in gold. There, a perfect card for wedding! Thanks for visiting, Mei Ann Colors are inspired by:
Kun je met een Love2Craft snij- en embossingmachine vilt snijden? Dan vroeg ik mij af en ging dus op onderzoek uit.
The card is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and made of purple card stock. I used Cricut Design Space to slice the images of a rectangle (5 1/4"x4") and the window to create a negative space in the shape of the window, then cut that using turquoise card stock. I embossed that piece with the Ornamental Iron Cuttlebug embossing folder. The tree is a rubber stamp that I had in my stash. I stamped it with embossing ink, then covered it with gold embossing powder. I cut it out using the Brother Scan 'n' Cut 2. I then added some purple Stickles to the branches of the tree. The hillside was cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders die by Lawn Fawn. I then covered it in Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I cut a blacked out shadow of the window in white, the embossed it with the Snowflake Swirl embossing folder by Darice. I used a piece of acetate to make the window look more realistic. The turquoise shadow, white window pane, and the acetate are adhered to the turquoise background, then adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension. I added a touch of turquoise glitter around the edges of the window for sparkle. The sentiment and the banner are both from My Craft Spot. The sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered the middle of the banner with two layers of foam tape and adhered the ends with glue dots. I cut a turquoise mat at 5 1/4"x4" and a white mat at 5 1/8"x3 7/8." I stamped the swirls in embossing ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped in grape jelly ink by Tsukineko. Both the swirls and the sentiment were from My Craft Spot. I made this card for the current challenge at Daring Cardmakers. It is to use three elements from the photo on your card. I was inspired by the turquoise and purple color palette, the gold accents, and the window.
Hello everyone! :) My parents just moved into a new house, and I am so excited for them! Their new house is beautiful!!!!!!!! They are back in town, instead of up the mountain, so it's much easier to swing by and visit with them now. I knew I wanted to get them a little housewarming gift and make them a card, but I wasn't quite sure what to do for them. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and I know that they really enjoyed their gift and card... and that's what really matters! :) Crafty Calendar Challenge- add a sentiment Crafty Sentiments Designs- anything goes Simply Create Too- no stamped or digital images {PIN}spirational Challenges- anything goes Winter Frolic- branch and birdhouse cut at 3.05" Cuttlebug- leafy tree trunk (Darice) Sentiment- from my computer "home" Janda Stylish Script font size 20, "tweet" Things We Said font size 20 Stickles- star dust, black diamond Here is what I ended up doing for them as a gift. I found a cute basket at Cost Plus World Market, a dish towel, green tea, coffee, two sugar-free syrups, and I made them homemade blueberry scones. They are THE BEST scones!!! Once I discovered this recipe, I never use any other one! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed... :) Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your visit! :)
The two cards I'm sharing today were created using the same Cuttlebug embossing folder (Leafy Branch) but are for two very different occasions. For the sympathy card I embossed a piece of kraft cardstock and then decided to turn the image on its side. The butterfly is from Hero Arts (HA) CL383 Antique Engravings and the flower is from HA CL322 Artistic Borders. After stamping the sentiment from HA CL342 Everyday Sayings I die cut a Nestie ribbon tag. Other Materials Used: Stampin' Up cs. pp and scalloped border punch, American Crafts buttons, Queen & Co. rhinestones, Michael's satin ribbon This is the last birthday card I need for this month. I embossed a piece of Core'dinations paper then sanded the image - love the distressed effect! The butterfly from HA CL383 Antique Engravings was colored with Ranger spiced marmalade and peeled paint distress inks. The sentiment is from HA CG275 Birthday (4). I didn't add gems/pearls to the butterfly and used the brown eyelet and hemp to give this more of a masculine feel.Other Materials Used: Stampin' Up cs and pp Although my dh is 100% Polish and I have just a wee bit of Irish in me we still celebrated St. Patrick's Day last week! I love corned beef and cabbage and managed to squeeze another meal of that in on Sunday (I have this great recipe where you bake the corned beef, cabbage, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing in a biscuit lined casserole - Yum!). On Friday I made close to 200 Irish potato candies and some Irish whiskey cakes for an event at the winery where I work part-time - after working full-time in the social work field for several years I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to work less and see family more :) The candy doesn't actually have any potatoes in it but you roll them in cinnamon to make them look like potatoes just dug from the ground! So cute and they were a big hit! Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments!
You won't believe this, but I actually did get in my craft room yesterday and made not one but three cards for four challenges- yey!!! The Play Date Cafe was a regular challenge of mine a few months ago, along with CR84FN. I have played at the Shabby Tea Room before too, but this is my first time at CAS-ual Fridays! Ok, first up my card for CAS-ual Fridays and Play Date Cafe..... CAS-ual Friday's challenge this week was to use Rub-Ons in a CAS card. When I read this, I knew I had to play along as I had bought a bunch of rub-ons at a little scrapbook store up in Big Bear last year and had left them sitting in a drawer since I bought them home. So, it was time to dust them off and have a go at them! The Play Date Cafe challenge was to use a splash of colour in your card. I thought this would be the perfect match to the rub on flowers I was using. Nothing too difficult here, just rub on the rub-ons (by KaiserScrapbook) and colour in the large flower with pink copics. The sentiment is a rub-on also from a little set that came with my Texture Boutique when I bought it. I just finished the card by rounding the corners, and it's good to go! My second card is another really simple one that I created based on the colours in this weeks Shabby Tea Room challenge: The challenge was create a card inspired by this photo, and using the colours pink, green and yellow. While rummaging through my stash for the rub-ons for my first card I came across these cute dragonfly stickers that I had bought last time I was back in England. They matched the colours for this challenge and even reminded me of the floral designs on the picture, with their patterned wings. I ran a yellow card through my Texture Boutique with the Cuttlebug Leafy Branch embossing folder, and then inked over it lightly with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink to highlight the leaf pattern. I then simply stuck on the dragonflies (Paper Mania) and stamped the sentiment (HA CL342) in black Stazon. A simple summery card. My third and final card was created using the CR84FN colour pallette for this week, and is also inspired by the current CREATE blog challenge to make and use ribbon flowers in your design (though I won't be submitting this card for that challenge as I assume it can't have been posted on your blog beforehand?) I really enjoyed making these flowers! I simply took three lengths of white ribbon and inked them with Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Distress Inks. Then I hand stitched a basting stitch along the bottom edge of the ribbon and pulled it tight to gather it into pleats. I then attached the buttons using thread. I stamped the light pink card base with Hero Arts Small Stitched Flowers in Worn Lipstick Distress ink and cut a banner out of white card stock, inking that with Worn Lipstick also. The sentiment is a rub-on, also from the set that came free with my Texture Boutique (love freebies!), and I faux stitched around the edge of the banner before adhering it to the card with foam squares. I then arranged the flowers and stuck them down with Glossy Accents, and voila! I really did enjoy getting back in my craft room, and I also realised something about myself, and why I struggle with finding motivation sometimes. I LOVE to learn new things, and what initially brought me to stamping was the Thinking Inking series Jennifer McGuire did a while back. I was amazed by all the techniques available to try, and couldn't wait to learn them myself. The problem is, once I have done them a few times I get bored lol! I am no means an expert though so I need to push myself to keep trying those techniques I have learned already, and incorporate them into the colour challenges online. So, now I have figured myself out- I can push myself to do more, because once I get in that zone I enjoy myself so much. One thing I really do want to work on is my photography! I haven't found that sweet spot in my house yet, where the lighting is perfect, so I'll keep searching for that too and trying new locations. Today, Odie decided he really needed to help out with this... Lol, I have about 10 outtakes today with random cat paws, whiskars, noses and tails in!! I should probably iron that pillow case I use for my backdrop too hehe!! I seem to remember someone doing a series on how to improve your card photography earlier in the year, was it Lisa Spangler? All I know is to use the macro setting, so I have a lot more to learn! Anyway, that's it from me for today- I have a list of other challenges I want to enter too so I'll be popping up tomorrow again I'm sure... but for now I have errands to run, and laundry to do :) Lynsey x

I fancied doing a white on white card today, ending up creating this "Thinking Of You" Card. I started off using the Big Shot and the Apple Blossom "That Folder" to emboss the background. Using the Apple Blossom "Banners & Blooms" die set, I cut the banner. Using the co-ordinating Apple Blossom "Wavy Sentiment" stamp set, I stamped the "Thinking Of You" greeting and stuck the banner in to position. Using Stampin' Up "Botanical Builder Framelits" dies I cut assorted flowers and foliage. Using another Stampin' Up set, "Pretty Pine Thinlits" I cut some fir tree foliage. I then assembled and glued the flowers and foliage into position. Finally, I added some self adhesive pearl gem stones to finish the card.

Hi Stampers! Today's card is a clean and simple (CAS) design that's fast, fabulous and also VERY versatile. Simply swap out the sentiment for any occasion and you're good to go. It looks beautiful in any color combination, so have fun experimenting! This was another of our June Club projects and it was a BIG hit. The embossed flower image is created using the new Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. To add a subtle pop of color to the flowers, simply rub an inked sponge dauber over the embossed image. I really loved the look of adding just a touch of color to the flower centers only, but you can sponge the entire flower if you wish for a more dramatic effect. This is so quick and fun, you'll want to make lots of them! Last Chance Alert! Now that the Holidays are almost here... I am happy to post my first non-Christmas card in a long time! I love pink & brown together so I used them with the Cuttlebug "Leafy Branch" folder. This butterfly punch is new too, I love the detail in it. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
