So, yesterday, I told you guys that I just joined Close To My Heart. Guess what I found out? Close to My Heart doesn't retire any of the stamp sets that go with the Cricut Art Philosophy or the Cricut Artiste cartridges, - as long as they aren't a "stamp of the month" or "special purchase" or "in a workshop to go kit". That means there are many more than are just listed in the current Close to My Heart catalog. Currently, there are 61 sets available - not counting stamp of the months, workshop kits, etc. I have found a handy link for you to go see them all - click HERE or on the badge below. Just thought I'd share that with you - I was astonished at how many cool stamp sets there are that match these cartridges. Read under each stamp set closely in the link above to see which cartridge they work with - sometimes it's even both! Now onto today's project - A sporty gift bag for dad or any soccer loving person you may know! This bag was made with the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge. You need this cartridge if you have any athletes or sports fans in your life - it's incredible. I love the graphic design feel of the cartridge. I cut the "soccer is life" at 2-1/2" and the soccer ball graphic at 7". Quick and easy! This week's giveaway is the Cricut Create A Critter 2 Cartridge! How can you win? 1) Leave a comment below (or by clicking HERE if you are seeing this in email) letting me know if you like linky parties. Those are blog posts where people can add links to their own projects. Click HERE if you don't know how to leave a comment. 2) Subscribe to the blog HERE. That's it! Winner will be announced on Sunday, June 16, 2013 and has two weeks to claim prize. Prize will be shipped within 2-4 weeks. Want to see more of my projects? Click HERE to see my gallery! So, you know how difficult it is to find the images that make up each of the layouts in the CTMH Artbooking cartridge??? Say you want to create the projects on page 46 of the handbook. Here's what you see in the handbook: In Cricut Craft Room, you can just go to that cartridge and go through each of the tabs for that layout to find all the pieces. But because the images in Design Space aren't in any sort of order you have to scroll through all 585 images to find the ones you need. (Yes, I counted them!) Then when you've found the first image you then have to scroll through all 585 images to find the next one! And repeat until you have all the images you need for that layout... And we all know that because Design Space is cloud-based there's a lag when you scroll through the list. So you have to sit and wait for the next few lines of images to show up. Hmmm, if only there was an easier way..... What if the handbook had the Design Space code under each image? Like this maybe.... Then all you'd have to do is type the codes into the search box in Design Space to find those images! So, that's exactly what I have done. I've taken the digital PDF handbook and added the codes for every image. (There's no codes for the numbers as you'll find them by using the Add Text option.) You can even type more than one code in the search box at a time. Just place a space between each code. (Click the image below to enlarge.) Remember, you must type the # and the M for each code. Here you'll find links to the Cricut cartridge handbooks that have been edited to add the Design Space code for each image. You'll also find some cartridge image code lists without their handbooks. For those with handbooks here's a sample of what you will see: To use the codes: Click the Insert Images button in Design Space Make sure All Images is selected Insert the code that appears under the image into the search box and press Enter. You will then see a preview of the image. You can even put multiple image codes in the search box. Just put a space between each one. Each image must start with #M Some images won't show up (eg CTMH images) unless you are logged in! Also, in the case of CTMH (and most like other licensed cartridges) the codes won't work if you haven't linked that cartridge to your Cricut account. To view the codes on the iPad you must select Open in iBooks Keep checking back as I'll be adding more cartridges as I have time. Links are below. A note about the new CTMH Flower Market cartridge. I have just uploaded the Flower Market cartridge. It is currently available only through my Facebook group - Cricut Explore and More. Click on the cartridge image to download the PDF handbook. Well...my blog is about to be overrun with Wedding posts so if you're coming and want to be surprised with all the little handmade details....STOP READING NOW :0) On my agenda this weekend was the Guest Book....I've looked at TONS online and picked out my favorite and went to work trying to mimic it. Of course I used CTMH products when I could...My Creations 3-Ring Binder...Sweet Leaf B&T (from Wings)....Friendship Stamp Set (Feb. SOTM) and even some retired vellum (Fleurs Des Jardines B&T Vellum)...I distressed the stark white binder with Bamboo Ink which added a vintage, Colonial White look. I hope you like it... ------------------------- Here's the tutorial on how to make the flower...I bought some stain material at Hobby Lobby which resembles CTMH's Sweet Leaf color ($2.99/yd at 1/3 off and was able to get enough material for probably 10 or 11 flowers)...cut into various size circle...I did 4 sizes...5", 3-1/2", 2-1/2" and about 1-1/2 "...the 3-1/2" ones are pictured below... ----------------------------- Cut slits in around the circle...it's easier if you do 4 or 5 at a time...BIG HUGE TIP: Stack all the layers where the silky sides are all facing the same way...when doing more than one at a time, they tend to melt together and if your sides are facing the same way, you'll always have the pretty side facing up... --------------------------- Hold over a candle (with a low flame) and watch the material curl... ----------------------- Here are the smaller ones...I used tweezers to curl those because the flame was too hot for that little of a circle... ------------------- Here's to show how close this material is to Sweet Leaf (our 1" stitched ribbon is laying on top of some flowers I've already done)...SO EXCITED about the color resemblance!!! ------------------------- Once I finish the "innards", I'll be showing the full Guest Book! 'Till next time....
