Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 430! The sketch is an interesting one this week - I chose to rotate it 90 degrees to create a vertical card. I die cut outlines for the square and rectangle using stitched dies. The flowers were stamped, coloured and die cut. The sentiment pieces were also die cut. Once the basic pieces were adhered, some gold embellishing thread was added under the bottom flower and I also added some gold Stickles to the berries on the top flower. This card style was created by a fellow CTMH Maker - Melissa Mills Johnson - and she also shared the cutting diagram. I love the Isabella paper collection and decided to use that to create my card. The sections were covered with a few of the patterned papers from the Isabella collection. The floral image was stamped, coloured and die cut. The first half of a small sentiment was stamped in the top corner and the larger part of the same sentiment can be found inside the card. I used a blue Sharpie marker to outline sections of the card. The last step was to add Stickles to the berries on the front. Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 457! We have a tic tac toe grid this week - it is based on the colours from the Close To My Heart paper pack called Isabella. I used the left column (Evergreen, Mink and Sundance) as well as the bottom row (Sundance, Gold and Sage). I used a pattern from an old Make It From Your Heart book but reversed the top two panels. The papers are all from the Isabella paper pack. The bottom of the green panel was die cut using a stitched bracket die. The flowers were coloured and die cut. I added some gold Liquid Pearls and Stickles to the berries and a birthday sentiment was placed along the cross piece. Some gold embellishing thread and glitter gems were added around the card and the lines of the flowers were brushed with the gold shimmer brush. Part three in our series on dies and their versatility- supplied to us by Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. Did you know you can EMBOSS with your dies? This is a great way to add texture and interest to your projects. Simply create your die-cutting machine sandwich just as you would to emboss, only with one slight difference. First, start with your cutting platform on the bottom. Next, add your cutting pad on top of your platform. Then add your Silicone Craft Sheet on top of the cutting pad. Add your cardstock, with the die in position, on top of that. And finally, top it all off with your second cutting pad and run it through your die-cutting machine. Depending on your machine’s configuration, you can also add additional shims to achieve more depth and definition. You are left with your own unique embossed design that is to die for (pun intended)!”
