Our necks have necklaces, ears have earrings, wrists have bracelets, and fingers have rings. Yet, chests... well, they have chest hair which isn't that impressive at all when you think about it. Okay, ladies usually don't have hair on their chests but that's not what we are talking about here. Some people, though, have found the perfect way to go about the bleakness of their chests and adorned them with incredible tattoo artworks.

Hey there and welcome back... Today I have a couple of Super Mario cards to share, I have a Mario Birthday Card and a Luigi Birthday Card.... Aren't they cool, my son would have loved to get a card like this for his birthday, he was mad about Super Mario...lol. The cards are basically the same except for the colours and the letter on each of their caps. For Mario I used Real Red, Blushing Bride,Pacific Point Basic Black and Whisper White. For Luigi I used Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Blushing Bride, Pacific Point, Basic Black and Whisper White. The Happy Birthday is from the Number of Years stamp set and the letters were cut out using the Little Letters Thinlits. The eyes are the Extra Large Oval, the Large Oval and the small Oval, the nose is the extra Large Oval. I used the Mustache Die for their Mustaches and for the peak of the cap I used the 3rd smallest Oval from the Ovals Collection Dies. Stampin'Up! have retired all their Oval punches in the New catalogue as they have brought out some New Layering Dies, so if you prefer the punches now is the time to get them. CONVENTION is coming... time for more Convention swaps!!!! I was totally inspired by Jill's adorable card HERE, and decided I needed to make a swap card using her super cute flower idea! WAY too cute, Jill!!! So I made a pile of flowers... a 'paper flower garden'... (I actually ended up making 2x this many!!) :) Then I made it into this card with Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Apricot Appeal cardstock: I used the 'Punches Plus' brass template and the paper piercer to add an oval of holes around the punched out greeting. The flowers are super easy to make..

So I have gotten the Circle Card Thinlit die back out, so if you have followed my Blog for long you know that I love to create characters out of the Circle Card Thinlit. I was watching the TV last night and while flipping channels I came across Bart Simpson, and it hit me I could make a card that looked like him very easily and we all have the pre-teen or teenager that loves 'The Simpsons'. We all also need a good belated birthday card in our stash, so this card kills to birds with one stone. I have taken a few pictures of the making of the card so hopefully it will answer some of the questions that I get on the making of this type of card. So here we go. Belated Birthday Bart Supplies Needed Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock. Momento Black, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Daffodil Delight ink Remembering Your Birthday, and See Ya Later Stamp Sets. 2 1/2", 1 3/4", 1 1/4", 1/2" circle punch, Owl Punch, Hole punch, and Project life corner punch. Circle Card Thinlit, Circle Collection and Oval Collection Framelits. Scissors, Sponge Daubers. Step One The first thing you do is to cut out all pieces needed. The small Black circles are from 1/2" circle punch, The second smallest circle from the Owl punch, and the smallest is from hole punch. The straight line is just 2' Strip cut at 1/8" wide. and the crescent shape is done with the 1/2" punch. Cut out card and oval is the smallest oval framelit. Step Two The next step is to turn card over the back is now the front and fold as seen above. Next cut 1/8" off each side of oval, and with sponge daubers edge around oval with Daffodil Delight ink. Glue all of the small black circles to white circles and the crescent shape to end of strip, as shown above. Step Three I then took my scissors and with the card folded started cutting small V's in the top to mimic his hair. Assemble all the pieces as seen in above picture, Trim the excess Strip and then use the corner punch on the bottom two corners and TaDa........... BART SIMPSON............ The sentiment was stamped and cut out with 2 1/4" circle framelit and the Black circle was punched with the 2 1?2" punch. I truly hope that the pictures helped I have tried videos and do not like any of the outcomes so I will continue to try to post pictures when I can. As always thank you for stopping by and taking a look. Please feel free to leave a comment. If you would like any of the supplies you see above you can get them through my BFF and demonstrator Becky Crain at here web page www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/beckycrain

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!! My week was off to a jump start yesterday, literally! My daughter's boyfriend called in need of a jump start for his car. So I was out the door before 7 am. Once his car started, I headed home but made a few stops first. A trip to the gas station, the grocery store, Target and the bank were in order and I figured I might as well take care of all of them while I was out. I did manage to get back home before 10 so I felt really good. Have you ever noticed that when you get home from the grocery store there is always work to do? I cleaned all the produce and put all the groceries away and then had to take out trash and start laundry. I was exhausted but still wanted to work on a card. The card I worked on was an easy one to make because it is patterned after a card I made last week. Do you remember Mario from last week? Well when my daughter came over and saw him she thought he was too cute and said I needed to make a Luigi to go with him. That's exactly what I did!! I started with a base card of Crumb Cake cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". I added a layer of Blushing Bride which is retired (but might reappear again soon!!) to the top of the Crumb Cake. It is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and attached using runner adhesive. To make the hat portion, I used Whisper White and Garden Green card stock. I cut a piece of green to measure 2 1/2" x 4" and adhered it to the top of the Blushing Bride using runner adhesive. I used the retired decorative strip called Billboard and cut out the letter "L". It is adhered to a white 1 1/4" circle using liquid glue. The circle is then adhered to the hat with runner adhesive. The brim of the hat is the 3rd smallest oval from the oval framelits collection. I cut it out using the big shot and then cut it a little larger than half. I attached a large oval with the greeting on it to the brim with runner adhesive. The greeting is from the retired Stamp Set called King of the Grill. It is stamped in Garden Green ink. Once it was attached to the brim, I attached the brim to the hat with dimensionals. To make the face, I used Whisper White, Basic Black, Pacific Point and retired Blushing Bride card stock. The eyes were made using the wide oval for the white, the large oval for the pacific and the retired small oval for the black. I layered these together using runner adhesive and attached the completed eyes to the face with the same adhesive. The moustache was made using the wide oval punch. I punched 2 of these ovals, ran then through the big shot using the woodgrain impression folder and cut each one to be a little larger than half. They are attached to the face with runner adhesive. The nose is a wide oval and is attached using dimensionals. I added a bit of white gel pen to the nose and eyes for looks. I also sponged the edges of the nose with Blushing Bride ink for depth. Here are the brother together. The main difference other than the letter on their hats and the color of the hats is the moustaches. Mario has a wavy one which is why I used 2 sizes of circle to make it while Luigi has a pretty straight one. The wide oval worked really well for his. Well that's it for today. Wonder what I should make for tomorrow? I guess I had better get to thinking about that so I can get to work. I hope you all have a terrific day and will come by to visit with me tomorrow. Thanks for dropping by today!!

HAPPY SATURDAY! Welcome back to my new blog post that will feature some punch art that is not Christmas related.... ha ha ha. I'm taking a break from Christmas projects just for this weekend so I can focus on my son's 8th birthday! He's all about video games like Minecraft and Super Mario. I must mention that this is the first year he's requested me to make him a card. I GLADLY obliged!!! This card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest, made by Melanie Makes, which you can find here. Below is the image of her card. I love the layout of the card along with how she made a starburst in the background so that Mario's face is the focus. Below is my version of the Mario card. I made a "pipe" for the inside of the card from Garden Green Cardstock so that it would hold a prize inside. I love this unique money pocket! I cut out one rectangle to 2" x 2 1/4" and another to 3/4" x 2 1/4". I popped these pieces up with mini dimensionals along the bottom and sides, making sure to leave room for the $20 bill. I had to come up with my own ideas of doing the punch art and put together a little tutorial of the punches I used for each piece which looks similar to Melanie's punch art with some slight differences. You may access the *.jpg version of the tutorial in the "Tutorials & Cheat Sheets" tab towards the top of this blog page. Allow me to share some TIPS about the process of putting this little guy together... Not all the punches I used are available in the current catalog and therefore are retired. If you don't have a certain punch, see what else you could use that has a similar shape for what you're needing. I highly recommend using grid paper to help you align and measure your pieces for accuracy. I found that using Tombo glue is the best adhesive for adhering your pieces because it give you a chance to move things around until you get it where you want it. Begin by taking a 3" square piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and use the Ivory Stampin' Blend Marker and color it, let dry. Then punch out Mario's face, ears, and nose. Punch out the 1 3/8" scalloped circle from Basic Black Cardstock then use a 1" circle punch to punch out the sideburns. I measured the size of the sideburns by counting 5 scallops. For the mustache, I counted 9 or 10 scallops and cut straight across using my scissors. Put together Mario's face first by adhering the nose with a mini-dimensional in the center of his face. Adhere the sideburns slightly above his ears. Use post-it notes to help you punch out a sliver of the hat rim and eyebrows. For Mario's hat, I used my grid paper to mark 4 points as shown below so that I could cut along the solid line for the shape of the hat, making sure to round the corners. Mario's eyebrows were a little tricky for me. I made 4 of these Mario's and they all turned out differently. You could trim them until you like their shape and thickness. For Mario's tongue, I placed a post-it note towards the top half of the heart punch out and then used the watermelon punch to punch out the tongue. After you complete Mario's face, adhere his ears behind it, then adhere to the hat. The rim of the hat is the last thing I adhered to Mario's forehead using mini-dimensionals. Below is a list of SUPPLIES that I used for the front and inside of the card. These items are current Stampin' UP! products except for those noted with an * : STAMP SETS So Many Stars (2019 Holiday Catalog) * BYOB (2015-2016 Annual Catalog) * Poppin Birthday (March 2019 Paper Pumpkin) * DIES Stitched Stars (2019 Holiday Catalog) * Up & Away (2017 Mini Catalog) * Sunburst (2016 Mini Catalog) * PAPER/CARDSTOCK Gingham Gala 6"x6" DSP - Balmy Blue (2019 Mini Catalog) * Balmy Blue cardstock Granny Apple Green cardstock Whisper White Cardstock Daffodil Delight Cardstock Real Red Cardstock Basic Black Cardstock Very Vanilla Cardstock Garden Green Cardstock INKS Real Red Granny Apple Green MARKERS Real Red Stampin' Marker Ivory Stampin' Blend Marker RIBBON: Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack PUNCHES: 1/2" circle (2019-2020 Annual catalog) * 1" circle (2019-2020 Annual catalog) * 2" circle 2 1/4" circle Owl Punch (2010-2011 Annual catalog) * Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack - watermelon (2018 Mini catalog) * Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack - heart (2014-2015 Annual Catalog) * 1 3/8" scallop circle (2018 Mini Catalog) * MISC. With tattoo trends changing almost as often as the trends on social media, there still are some tattoo styles that defy time, gaining immunity to any and all passing-by trends. Want to guess which tattoos we are talking about? Yup, you’re absolutely right; it’s American traditional tattoos! To honor this never-dying trend, we’ve rounded up some of the most beautiful specimens done in recent days, and although these old-school tattoos did change during the period of their natural evolution, the core still stayed the same.
