Seven Realities for Experiencing God examines seven scriptural realities - those Moses experienced in Exodus 3 - that teach believers how to develop an obedient love relationship with God. This eight-session study overviews the seven realities and then, session by session, explores truths like "God is always at work around you" to introduce a biblical pattern by which God reveals His will so that believers can join His activity in the world. Each reality provides content for personal study, including five short, daily readings with reflection questions to complete before gathering as a group. Optional journaling pages are also provided following the fifth day of study. These extra pages provide space to record any thoughts, questions, or experiences related to the week's study.
For those of you who have sent in questions, thank you for your patience! For now, Friday will be a Q & A day. Feel free to email me your questions, or contact me through the blog’s conta…

God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours by Regina Brett New York: Grand Central Publishing, 2010 Regina Brett long-believed that "at the moment she was born, God must have blinked. he missed the occasion and never knew she had arrived." The fifth of eleven children, she got lost in the mix. She was "a lost soul who drank too much at 16, an unwed mother at 21, a college graduate at 30, a single mother for 18 years, and finally, a wife at 40, married to a man who treated me like a queen." Then, at 41, she got breast cancer. It took two years for her to recover. At age 45, Brett wrote down 45 lessons life had taught her. At age 50, she added five more. Her newspaper, "The Plain Dealer" in Cleveland, ran the column. People all over the country began to forward the column. At some point in time, you have probably read these lessons and nodded knowingly. Consider the book version of "50 Life Lessons" the expanded version of that well-traveled list. Brett writes from a place of faith. She sees God at work in her own life and the lives of others. In essays such as "Life Isn't Fair, but It's Still Good," "Life is Too Short to Waste Time Hating Anyone," "It's Okay to Get Angry with God. He Can Take It," and "Always Choose Life," Brett shares her wisdom and outlook on life. I dare anyone to read this book and keep dry eyes. These essays will speak to your heart and make you rethink your life. This is one of those books, like the original column, that will be shared among friends. A portion of the royalties of this book will support The Gathering Place which offers free services for anyone touched by cancer.
What makes a novel or movie fascinating for me is when the protagonist is flawed and must overcome inner obstacles to achieve his goal, or to choose (and find) her happiness. If all the characters—…

When a Kingdom Woman retires for the evening, a frustrated and worn out devil ought to be saying, “We messed with the wrong woman today.†This study guide is a companion resource to the video small-group study (9781624052095) based on the book Kingdom Woman (9781589977433), which instructs every Christ-following woman on how to tap into the power of God as she finds and fulfills the purpose for which God has fashioned her.A Kingdom Woman embraces a simple premise: unless a Kingdom rests firmly under the authority of the ruler, anarchy reigns. That’s why a Kingdom Woman always seeks to align herself and operate under the authority of God—in every area of life. With practical insights and applications from coauthor Chrystal Evans Hurst, Tony Evans explains how that process can unleash new purpose, power, and possibilities—in both the lives of Kingdom Women and those they love. This curriculum can be covered in about six weeks. There are three different products, each sold separately: The hardcover book, Kingdom Woman (9781589977433) The video small-group study, Kingdom Woman Group Video Experience (9781624052095) This study guide (9781624052101). "Dan Allender calls us to recognize that our lives, which often seem random, have a brilliant, divine coherence. Under his expert tutelage we discover how to discern God's hand on our lives and how to tell the story to ourselves and others." -Tremper Longman III, author of How to Read the Psalms and coauthor of The Cry of the Soul and Bold Love. According to Allender, your life is full of stories. Some are joyful, others painful; some take place over years, others in a moment. These stories and your response to them add color, shape, and texture to "you." If you're looking to make sense of who you are, the stories of your life need examining. Rather than passively allowing your stories to define you, this companion workbook for To Be Told will help you engage your stories honestly and open the door for God to transform and redeem them. The exercises in this workbook encourage you to write your stories, wrestle with them, and find God behind them.
Could Your Love Language Guide You to a Meaningful Life? In a world of varying beliefs and endless opportunities, determining how to spend our lives can seem impossible. And even more difficult than finding direction can be finding meaning. Perhaps we know what we’re most interested in, but how do we know if it has purpose? These longings are rooted in our desire to feel God’s presence in our lives, which begins when we know how He communicates with us. Seen. Known. Loved. examines how God—the Creator of the universe—intimately communicates with each of His people. Relationships expert Gary Chapman and coauthor R. York Moore offer practical insights for how to know your own love language and how God uses it to communicate with you. When we come to understand our own unique love language, we discover how God both speaks and listens. And, therefore, how He is intimately involved in our lives in ways we have never before identified. The first step to living with meaning is living in union with our God—the source of meaning.
To understand God’s call for us, we need to also understand how God sees us; we have to understand our “backstory” (to put it in storytelling terms) or where we come from. How does God see us? Most…

If we're honest, she's a harsh one, saying things we'd never dream of saying to others: You'll never measure up, you'll fail again tomorrow, you just can't get it right. Our head knows the good news is true, but our heart struggles to believe it, and it is in this gap that we battle to believe the promises of God.Hayley Morgan, coauthor of bestselling book Wild and Free, has wrestled with this tension her whole life. In Preach to Yourself, she tackles it head-on to discover how we can renew our minds to renew our lives. For every woman who struggles with repetitive, negative self-talk, this book will show you how to identify the toxic loops where you get stuck and replace them with the truth of God we can believe with our whole selves. This is not a \"try harder\" reprimand, it's a \"believe better\" invitation: to take God at His word when He tells you who you are. Come along and learn a simple practice to break free from the lies holding you back, and step forward into the fullness of life God has planned.
