Chariman Charles Johnsons home in Hillsborough,California. This is a Historical and Beautiful Place,Neighborhood.
This is the backyard view of Chateau Carolands as seen from one of its two rear entrances on Craig Road in Hillsborough, California. The Chateau, modeled after the French chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte, was built by Harriet Pullman Carolan, the daughter of George Pullman, a 19th-century industrialist. Abandoned for many years it was finally purchased by Charles (President of Franklin-Templeton) and Dr. Ann Johnson for under $6 million. The home has undergone extensive restoration since 1998 and today stands as one of the most exquisite structures of its kind in the country. It remains a private single family residence but is opened occasionally by the Johnson's for charity benefits and fundraisers.
