Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm using the new Online Exclusive, Simply Zinnia Bundle, to introduce you to the over stamping technique. This is an awesome technique to make your images really pop. Basically, it involves stamping your image, coloring your image, then stamping it, again. You will need to have a stamp positioner, or some method to restamp your image so it is in the exact same place both times. I'll show you some pictures of the card, then provide 2 videos for you to watch showing this technique. The Distressed Tile Embossing Folder and the Thoughtful Expressions Dies were used on the 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White piece. Here I have my stencil on my stamp positioner with my stamp lined up. Next, I dropped my cut out in the stencil opening and stamped it in Basic Gray. In this picture I had removed my zinnias from the stamp positioner and colored the zinnias with the Poppy Parade and Old Olive Blends. I then put it back in the stamp positioner. This is before I over stamped. Now take a look at the image! This is after I stamped the image again or over stamped! Wow! Look at the difference! Here is a close up on the card. My sentiment is from Circled Sayings, stamped in Old Olive, then cut with the die from Everyday Details. For your free download, just click on the box below. Links to the supplies I used are below. This first video demonstrates just the over stamping technique. To see the construction of this card and the over stamping technique, visit my YouTube Channel. Just click on the picture below. Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm going to show you how to make an easy fractured card using the beautiful Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper. First, let's take a look at the card and important points in making this card. At the bottom of my post are links for a free tutorial an instructional video. Before we get to the fractured card part, here is the focal point of my card. The flower was cut with the Zinnia Dies out of Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. Step 1 is to adhere a square to the upper center of your card front. Then you take one of your 1/4" strips, begin at the top point, and adhere the strip from the point over to the edge of your paper. You can trim the edge now or wait until you have done all 4 sides. Step 2 is to adhere the next strip starting at the next corner to the right, with your strip right up to the previous strip. Adhere it all the way down to the edge of your paper. Step 3 continue around the square with your strips. Step 4 you finish outlining your square with the 1/4" strips. Trim all the edges, if you haven't already. Now you can finish it off with the flowers and sentiment. Tada! Here's your finished card! See how easy that was! Now you can give it a try. To download your free tutorial, please click on the box below. Click on the picture below to visit my YouTube channel for complete instructions on how to make this fractured card. I love flower gardens, I just don't like to garden. So I am really enjoying Grace's Garden! I cased this card from the January - June Mini catalog. I will confess that this is a fussy card that takes some time to make. There are a lot of pieces to stamp, color and die cut. But oh what fun to put together! There are lots of layers of cardstock as well. Not every card you make with this bundle has to be fussy. There are some really cute cards you can make that aren't as fussy as this one. Just have fun and let your creative juices flow! You may also like: Stampin' Up!
