Hello, Crafters. Last week was a very busy week for me and apart from my video – Colourwash on Vellum – I didn’t do any cardmaking. I decided to sit and relax and make a card on Sunday. Quiet Meadow is one of my favorite bundles from Stampin' Up's, new, 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I thought the images would be beautiful in sepia. But, what is sepia? This is what Siri tells

Quiet Meadow bundle Quiet Meadow all occasion cards ready for mailing When I was a kid, my family lived in a neighborhood that didn't have sidewalks, and several of the side streets were not paved. We lived on one of those unpaved streets, and what a treat it was to have such a playground of mud puddles, and wild flowers growing about. My absolute favorite was the 1st of May, a day where as children we would pick those wild flowers, put them in paper cones, and deliver them to our neighbors front porches. We would ring the bell, then run and hide....watching from behind a bush as the flowers were discovered and graciously accepted by the ladies that lived on our street. One of those wild flowers was a flower we called Bachelor Buttons. As soon as I saw the Quiet Meadow bundle, I spotted this flower die and I fell in love! All those childhood memories came flooding back. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. I enjoyed every moment of creating this card. All of the stamps and dies used came from this bundle. Quiet Meadow is a new stamp and die set that is available tomorrow, May 4th, in the new 2021-2022 Annual catalog! I used 3 of the new In-colors that will also be available tomorrow, May 4th. Evening Evergreen Basic White Fresh Freesia Soft Succulent This card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with a top fold. The Soft Succulent mat layer is 4" x 5 1/4" The Basic White layer is 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" When stamping the background Basic White cardstock, I stamped off once for the Soft Succulent areas, and stamped off twice for the Fresh Freesia flowers. I suggest practicing on a scrap of paper till you accomplish the look that you want for your background. I sponged a little Soft Succulent ink on the stems of the Soft Succulent leafy stem piece, just to give it a bit of dept. To create the flower at the top of stem, I cut the first layer in Evening Evergreen, then cut just the flower portion again in the Fresh Freesia. Trimmed the base of the flower, and adhered it atop of the first layer of flower, giving the Fresh Freesia just a small pop out from the stem. I used White Crinkle Seam Binding for the bow, and colored it with the Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends. Tomorrow you will be able to purchase this Quiet Meadow bundle at my online store link Thank you for visiting my page today. Stay safe and be well, Hugs, Teah

Shaded Spruce with Quiet Meadows Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 46th 2020/2021 Colour Creations Showcase by members of the Art with Heart Team. This week we are showcasing a lovely colour, Shaded Spruce. It is a deep rich green. It is a gorgeous colour that is great for leaves, grass or other green 'things'. Of course artistic licence provides many other opportunities as well. Having said that, I decided to stay with the more traditional usage of leaves & stems. Shaded Spruce has been produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads, spots & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Designer Series Paper including the Forever Greenery DSP; Hello Dear Friend and Gorgeous Posies Card Kits; and Sequins For Everything. As mentioned, in designing a project around Shaded Spruce, I decided to watercolour a piece of Fluid 100 Water-colour Paper with Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin' ink and then die cut leaves from it. The design I had in my mind was completely different than the final project. Numerous aspects changed along the way as things didn't work on paper as envisaged in my mind. It was one of those projects where I tried numerous options and chopped and changed so many aspects. There was so much faffing around this time. After water-colouring with Shaded Spruce, I also lightly water-coloured a piece of Shimmery White card-stock with Pool Party Classic Stampin' ink for the background. When almost dry it was embossed with the retiring Subtles 3D embossing folder. This was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Pool Party card-stock. A large scolloped rectangle was die cut using the Scalloped Contour dies from Shaded Spruce card-stock. This set of dies is from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue only available to SU Demonstrators in April, but will bye available to all from the 4th May. One of the design changes was to heat emboss the scolloped edge with Silver Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. There were two layers of silver heat embossing. The mounted card background was layered on the scolloped piece, which in turn was layered on another piece of Shaded Spruce card-stock so that this lovely green could be seen through the scollops. All these layers were popped up on Dimensionals onto a card base of Thick Basic White card-stock. Two flowers on stems and a leaf spray using the Meadows Dies (another new set) were cut from the Shaded Spruce water coloured paper. I had some water-coloured paper that I had water-coloured with 3 of the new In Colours - Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink. They are beautiful colours. A flower head was die cut from each colour and I cut a flower centre from un-died scrap of Shimmery White card-stock. As there are 4 dies in this shape, I suspect that the shape may represent little buds or elongated flowers to go with the long small leaf die, but it also works as a flower centre. It was dotted using the Pale Papaya Stampin' Write Marker. The flower heads were popped up on Mini Dimensionals. The die cut flowers/stems were arranged with pieces of the leaf spray and adhered in place with a mix of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals. A little tag from made from the Meadows dies with Shaded Spruce card-stock. It was stamped with the word "Love" from the Quiet Meadows Stamp Set using Versamark ink and heat embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. The tag was positioned with a Dimensional; and a piece of White Twine from the Snail Mail Combo Pack was tied in a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot. To finish the card front design, 3 Genial Gems were added. They are so gorgeous and also come from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. New products will be available to all from 4 May. A piece of Basic White card-stock was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Pool Party card-stock and adhered inside the card. A piece of the water-coloured leaf was added as an understated design element. Another leaf will be adhered to a C6 Basic White envelope to tie the envelope in with the card. A second leaf was hiding underneath something at the time of photographing the card, so the decorated envelope is not pictured here. For once Gemma let me photograph her with the card. She had a hair cut a few days ago and is feeling the cold. Just as well the sun was out. Thank you for visiting. While this card did not fall into place easily, it is always good to persist with a challenge. Catherine Proctor is our gorgeous host of the Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase. If you haven't finished visiting all of the team's colour creations, you can visit/revisit Catherine's page at What Cathy Made, where she hosts the links to the participating blogs so you can find everyone's Shaded Spruce creations. Hello and welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Winners Blog Hop! Today I'm joining Kylie Bertucci and a group of very talented demonstrators for a blog hop around the world. I'm so excited to be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop! I earned this honor with my card, Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper Card. I am honored that you voted for my card. Thank you so much. This card that I'm sharing with you today is a simple but elegant thank you card made with the Delicate Forest Dies and the Quiet Reflection stamp set. My customers will be making this card at our next card classes. Let's take a look at the card. The base of this card is made with Pretty Peacock cardstock and is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in a half. The next layer is a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Lost Lagoon. A 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper was cut with the die from Delicate Forest. You need to cut your paper the exact size you want the finished piece to be because the die doesn't cut around the edge, only the leaves and trees out of the middle. I then put dimensionals on the back and adhered only the top of this piece to the card front. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the arch die from Garden Meadow dies. Next, I inked up the Quiet Reflection stamp with Pretty Peacock ink on the top half and Misty Moonlight on the bottom half then stamped on the Very Vanilla arch. This piece was then slipped up under the designer series piece and both pieces adhered down. The thank you from Charming Sentiments was stamped on Very Vanilla in Misty Moonlight and cut with the coordinating die from Sentiment Silhouettes. It was then adhered to the lower left-hand corner. I hope you like this card and will make one for yourself. Click on the box below to download a free tutorial. Links to all the supplies I used are below. In Colours with Quiet Meadows Hi. Welcome to a new year, well at least the first Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. We have worked our way through all the Stampin' Up! colours and are now starting afresh as we continue to focus on each of the Stampin' Up! colours each week, working in alphabetical order. We are also changing the format of the Colour Creations Showcase to a more traditional Blog Hop style, where we move to the next participant on the list rather than follow the list of participants from the Coordinator's blog. I hope you feel comfortable with the change. This week we are focusing on all 5 of the new In Colours for 2021-2023. Such gorgeous colours. They are Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia. While we normally focus on one colour, to sync the Blog Hop timetable with the Stampin' Up! schedule, we are working with all 5 of the new In Colours this week. My last few days have gone a bit haywire with an unscheduled work interview and other happenings, so I will be working up to the blog's go live time. My apologies if you check in and find its not all here. (Must admit, that matches my current frame of mind - ha ha.) Phew - just completed it in time for launch! This week I created a set of Note Cards with a Note Card Holder. Taking photographs this morning before rushing off to help a friend, I didn't realise until a little while ago when I arrived home after a hectic day that quite a number of the photos taken have not transferred through. No time to check what's happened now. Will re-photograph the missing shots tomorrow. I created a Note Card Holder using a piece of 12"x12" Hand Penned Designer Series Paper. There is no cutting and gluing, just scoring, burnishing and folding so you could say it was formed using Origami. My photos of the Note Card Holder have disappeared, so I will not go into a huge discussion here of how it was created, but I refer you to Rachel Tessman's U-Tube channel where late May (uploaded 6 days ago) she created a Note Card Holder and 3 Note-cards using the Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP. Rachel is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator from the USA who has recently reached the heights of 1 million dollars in sales. An amazing achievement. The Hand Penned DSP was new to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and is one of my favourites. It includes In Colours, like Pale Papaya. While the new In Colours go together well, I decided to create a set of Note Cards using Stampin' Up!'s note cards that come as a set of Note Cards and Envelopes (that's 20 cards and 20 envelopes in a pack). They are the perfect size for the Note Card Holder. I've used the Basic White Note Cards, but they also come in Very Vanilla. I need to say a big thank you to Kathryn Mangelsdorf who "saved my bacon" as when I went to create this project I could only find my stash of Very Vanilla Note Cards and no Basic White. What was I to do? It was Kathryn to the rescue. Thank you so much Kathryn. I started each note card by cutting a Basic White card front a tad smaller than the note card. Using a Blending Brush each of the In Colours was applied to the centre of the card front and then the splatters stamp from the Quiet Meadows stamp set was stamped over the blended background and then stamped a second time without re-inking (ie stamping off). Each of the flower and leaf dies from the Meadows dies were used with Basic White card-stock. Butterflies and 5 little labels were also die cut using dies from the same set. Aren't they delightful. The labels were each stamped with one of the In Colours. The sentiment also came from the coordinating Quiet Meadow stamp set. Each note card had a different flower or leaf adhered over the blended background and one of the two different butterflies was also added, ensuing each note card was unique. A piece of White twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack was tied around the card front twice ending in a bow with the little tag tied through. The note card was finished with 3 coordinating 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels. These Jewels are just delightful. They twinkle beautifully and always add a special touch. The card front was then adhered directly to the front of the note card. The flowers from the coordinating stamp set was stamped on the coordinating envelope and inside the card with the matching colour of Classic Stampin' ink. Sorry there is no photo of the note card inner. These photos were among those that didn't transfer, however, I am sure you get the drift. Thank you so much for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I had fun creating this project to share. I love the Note Card Holder and am sure I will be creating more. This pack will be gifted to a hostess who has asked me to hold a class at her home soon. As you may know, Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue was launched earlier this month. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of the Annual Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send one to you. Hi Friends! Well, do you like quiet beaches or quiet meadows? My preference is beaches. I could happily spend many, many hours on a beach, with a bevvy and a good book. On Monday I shared how to create this beautiful card using the Quiet Meadow stamp set. There is no die cutting on this one, or embossing. Just good old fashioned stamping and some sponging too! This type of card is called Stamps, Ink and Paper (SIP) card. I used Lemon Lolly and Smoky Slate for the blotches and flowers. The big flower is stamped in Memento ink and coloured with Lemon Lolly and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! This pretty combination is the pick of crew member, Denita Wright-Smee. The photo was taken in New South Wales by a friend of her husband. Gorgeous photography! If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the two easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group. Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends. As it happens, this is the second card I made for this challenge. The first one is fine - and I might even post it later in the challenge - but yesterday my box of pre-orders from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue arrived and I just HAD to play! Out of the box came the Quiet Meadow bundle. The cling stamp set is fabulously eclectic: sentiments, flowers in different styles, splatter and a wonderful partially obscured text stamp. Some of them you can see in the over-stamping of the ink-smooshed background. The Meadow dies are absolute showstoppers: outlines of various flowers, just perfect as silhouettes or coloured to make realistic images, some butterflies and lovely labels that fit the sentiments. I couldn't wait to get cutting and stamping! We'd love to see what you make of these sunset colours. Hi Everyone, Today's card is one that I made as a swap card for a group of my Team Mates in the Pootlers Team. The idea is that everyone makes a batch of cards, all the same, this time using products from the new Annual Catalogue. Then we post them off to everyone else in the group and we get the same amount of 'Happy Mail' back. It gives us inspiration and ideas and often shows off items that we haven't got or thought we wanted. Great fun to take part in. Let me show you how I made my card. Materials 1 piece of thick basic white 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" 1 piece of Hand-Penned dsp 4" x 5 1/2" 1 piece of basic white 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" Scraps of pale papaya, mango melody and old olive card stock for the flower 2021-2023 In Colour jewels Meadow dies Quiet Meadow stamp set Scalloped Contour dies Stampin Cut and Emboss machine Memento black ink Trimmer Simply scored Multipurpose adhesive Dimensionals Instructions On the long side, score the thick basic white at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base. Die cut the largest scalloped die from the dsp and next largest from the basic white card. Die cut the whole flower from old olive and then just the flower heads from the pale papaya and the flower centre from the mango melody card. Adhere the coloured flower heads over the old olive ones and then add the mango melody centre. Stamp the sentiment at the top of the white scalloped rectangle and then adhere the flower at an angle below it. Sprinkle with jewels. Adhere the white layer to the dsp layer and then add to the card front using dimensionals. A quick and easy card to put together once you have done the die cutting. I hope that you and my Team Mates will like it.
