What a beautiful bouquet of flowers you can make using the Meadow Dies. I cut them out from white cardstock and colored them with Stampin’ Blends!
Today's clean & simple sympathy card required a bit of prep work. I began by selecting three shades of yellow ink; Mango Melody, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, plus dark brown, Early Espresso
Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for December 2022 - the theme is Thank you. If anyone ever asks me what my favourite colour is I always say either blue or purple. However, recently I have made a few cards using shades of green and I've really enjoyed using them. So, today I picked out a stamp set that I hadn't inked up for a while and a selection of greens and set to work to make this thank you card. Of late, the weather in the UK has been dull and dreary and a bit cold. Using my Quiet Meadow stamps has lightened my mood - and I'm now thinking of brighter, sunnier days bursting with flowers. The starting point for my card was a panel of Basic White card that I stamped with a floral spray using Old Olive ink. Next, I added the scripty detail and the single flowers using Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped off onto scrap paper before adding the image to the panel to create a lighter impression. Also, I literally stamped off the edge of the panel to only add parts of the flower and script to create width. I added a haze around the flower heads using the splatter stamp and Soft Sea Foam ink and scattered some tiny single flowers in Soft Succulent. To add some depth and texture I ran the stamped panel through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, added some die cut foliage and a trio of Festive Pearls in Soft Succulent. I added the Thank You sentiment, from the Nature's Harvest set, to a die cut banner secured with linen thread. I've also added a double bow using linen thread - no bouquet should be complete without a bow! The narrow Old Olive frame completes the panel before mounting it onto a top folding Thick Basic White card base. This card reminds me of sepia photos in ancient albums; only in green! I hope you like it too. As mentioned at the beginning I am entering Kylie's International Project Highlights and you can follow the link to the gallery where you will find heaps more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects. This was a really quick and simple technique using my Stampin’ Blends and some Isopropyl Alcohol for a beautiful watercolor background layer. It is important that the alcohol contains at least 90% alcohol in order for the technique to work. I started with a 70% container and it just wasn’t strong enough to break down […]

Quiet Meadow Silhouette Cards I have seen so many gorgeous cards made using this layout and I just had to make some as well! This is such a simple layout. I simply used Balmy Blue Card Stock as my card base. Either landscape or portrait orientation. Then I cut another piece of Balmy Blue C/S measuring 5 1/4" x 4". I embossed it using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder and attached it to the card base. I die cut some Basic Black C/S scalloped circles using the Layering Circles Dies. Then I die cut circles using the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper and attached them to the Basic Black C/S scalloped circles. Attach them to the card using Dimensionals. Die cut some floral sprigs from the Quiet Meadow Dies using Basic Black C/S and on one card I also used a Balmy Blue C/S floral sprig. Attach them to the circles. For the sentiments, on one card I stamped directly onto the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper using Memento Black Ink and on the other card I added a separate sentiment strip. I used the Quiet Meadow Stamp for the sentiments. Add some Rhinestones if you would like and that's it! Simple right? The best part is you can earn the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper for free during our 2022 Sale-A-Bration promotion! For every $60.00 spent before taxes and shipping you can pick a FREE item from the SAB Catalogue. Check it out here! It ends February 28th, 2022 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue Try this layout for yourself! It's time for a new challenge at Colour INKspiration. I especially hope that you enjoy this one, since I had the privilege of choosing the colours. If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the three easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group. Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. The guest designer this challenge is Sharon Dalton. If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. - for example Night of Navy for Misty Moonlight. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends. I used the Quiet Meadow bundle for this card - so pleased it is carrying over into the new catalogue! This combo included my two favourite colours from the retiring 2020-2022 In Colors: Just Jade and Night of Navy. As the colours were mostly strong, I wanted to tame them a little so opted for sponging some of them onto Basic White card. Since Soft Sea Foam is already a subtle colour, I die cut that from the card. The card front is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, another thing I'm delighted to see carry over. I've used some Polished Pink jewels from the 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels and some Misty Moonlight and Silver twin from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo. Sadly, by the time this challenge ends, these items will have retired - so stock up now in the Last Chance Sale, while you still can! Visit the Colour INKspiration site to check out the album of Crew Cards for inspiration. You can also add your entry there. We all enjoy seeing what you do with our colour palettes, so join in! If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. You can leave a message in the comments or contact me using any of the methods listed in the Contact Me tab at the top of the page.
