Good afternoon! It is time for another technique challenge over on the SSINKspiration blog and this month we're using the sunburst technique which I never used before but is super easy, and a great way to show off lots of patterns of paper (and use up scraps). I used Old Olive cardstock for the cardbase and then added Early Espresso as the cardfront and the mat for my sunburst. I cut several pieces of Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper and then cut them in half diagonally (the Stampin' Trimmer is perfect for this) and then started piecing the design together. Now I'll admit, I planned on my card being tall but after I put all the pieces together I noticed my deer on the one piece would have been sideways so I just flipped the card and now my deer are right side up. After I added all the pieces I used my trimmer again to cut off all the excess so I had nice clean edges. To finish off the card I used the Timeless Tidings stamp set for the greeting and stamped in in Shady Spruce ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits. I used the Layering Circles Framelits and Real Red cardstock to cut a scalloped circle mat for the greeting and then attached the piece with dimensionals. I love this card because it lets the designer series paper really be the star and you don't need lots of supplies to make it. Hi everyone, sharing the card I made for our Stamparoos Stampin' Up! Group Swap that was held last night. We had to make our card or project using something new out of the new catalogue. As my preorder arrived last week, I was a bit spoilt for choice. I changed my mind several times. This is the card that I decided to use as my swap. I have used a new In-colour, Grapefruit Grove along with patterned paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. The stamp set is "Love What You Do". These products are part of the Share What You Love Suite that is available from 1 May 2018. I reckon that the person who gets to name all the Stampin' Up! ink colours has the best job in the world. I thought I would go crazy & try something new today & what a perfect day to try out a One Sheet Wonder! I googled it & this one from Craftsy.com was my fave out of the first lot that came up. It also had really great instructions. This design makes 14 cards. This first pic is the dimensions to cut your 12"x12" sheet of Designer Series Paper. I used the Mint Macaron & Island Indigo pattern sheet from the Blooms & Bliss DSP as it needed to suit male birthday cards, anniversary cards & thank you cards. It was easy to follow these instructions if you cut along the three major horizontal lines first & then go back down all the vertical ones. The little orange bit at the end of the middle row is the only bit that doesn't get used & the red numbers correspond to the card front they'll go on. This next pic shows how to line up the pieces on the cards. I changed a couple of mine slightly. And here are all my finished cards! I put all my pieces onto Basic Black cardstock with a 2mm border. I also dolled most of them up with a bit of Gold Sequin Trim. For these Anniversary cards, I have added flowers from the Flower Shop stamp set inked in Mint Macaron & Island Indigo & cut out with the matching Pansy Punch. The sentiments & hearts come from the Designer Tin of Cards & Number of Years stamp sets. I have also inked some of the sentiments in Basic Black. For the Thank You cards, I did much the same as the Anniversary cards above, minus the Number of Years stamp set. And finally four male birthday cards using the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set, inked in Basic Black & Island Indigo. Hey Everyone! Ken here with another Ken's Kreation. Well as I said yesterday I am in birthday mode right now with all my projects. About 2 months ago I posted Construction Card In-A-Box. This was a very popular post and file download. I went with a 18 birthday theme for this card. This particular card was for my niece who just turned 18 and it was the perfect time to use the Birthday Girl Scrapbooking Kit file. This file is set up to make two 12 X 12 scrapbook pages, so i just choose the elements of the kit that I needed. I used my Silhouette Cameo and the Designer Edition Software. For this project I used the print and cut feature of the Silhouette Cameo. Here is a close up of all the goodies that I used from the Birthday Girl Scrapbooking Kit file. To give the stars an extra sparkle I used the following stickles colors on the stars: Yellow, Orange Peel, Pink Taffeta, Thistle. I wanted to give the balloons the illusion of floating so I used Grafix Craft Plastic Sheets and glued the balloons to this material. For the sides of the box I used the Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the elements that I wanted from the Birthday Girl Scrapbooking Kit. For the pennants I used the same stickle colors that I used on the items in the box (Yellow, Orange Peel, Pink Taffeta, Thistle). I then used Purple Baker's Twine and thread the twine through the pennants. I used 3D Foam Dots on various parts of the project to make the items pop on the card. I decided to post the cards that I made casing an artist whose work is beautiful, Cristina Kowalczyk. She entered, and WON Gallery Idol on the Papercrafts website!! She made some beautiful cards, but I was especially taken with this one from Round 2...You can find her wonderful instructions HERE: I loved this card so very much, that I ordered the dies, got a pair of all purpose snips(Stanley Black and Decker 7" all purpose snips) and cut the Papertrey dies like she did to make her card, and made two...one almost EXACTLY like hers the other, just a tad different(paper and sentiment). Here are my cases of her amazing card: And a side view: Used Bazzill black, melon mambo and white papers with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink(Iconic Images). Then I made one with designer paper and some stamped paper and smaller black dots with a white top layer: This view shows the layering: Used Bazzill white, regal rose dp from Stampin Up, and pretty in pink. Used 2 sets from Papertrey Ink (Basic Backgrounds: Tin Type, Signature Greetings).
