Hello again! I am back again for day 4 of the My Favorite Things Release Countdown! I can't tell you how much I adore the products we are featuring today! Birdie Brown's new Polynesian Paradise stamp set is totally adorable!! I had so much fun playing with this set! I adore Tropical themed stamps and dies! And the Tiki Hut Die-namics.... hold onto your seat!!! All of the new products will be available August 4th at 10:00pm EST! I made three cards with these new cuties! I couldn't stop!! They are THAT adorable! Oh my goodness how cute is that Tiki Hut?? I am totally in love with that die!! And the little hula girl is so perfect with it! The background is Distress ink with water sprinkled on it. All of the stamps were colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching Die-namics. For the sand, I used Primitive white card stock and sprinkled it with some Natural dye ink that I mixed with a little water. My next card features some more cute critters from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set along with the new Dots & Stripes Fresh 6x6 Paper Pack! Isn't that little chameleon the cutest thing! I just love him! The background is watercolored with Peerless watercolors on Tim Holtz Watercolor paper. The stamps are all colored with Copic markers. The frame is cut out with the stitched Rectangle Frame dies using the Fresh Paper pack! Now for a more clean and simple card. I just could not "not" use that adorable little parrot!! Again I used some of the paper from the new Dots & Stripes Fresh 6x6 paper pack. I love that stuff! The little bird is colored with Copic markers and everything is added to a white Double Stitched Rectangle. And that is all I have for you today! Thank you so much for stopping by! I have another tunnel card today, I'm really having fun with these! This one uses an MFT set called Polynesian Paradise. This set has the little hula girl and lots of animals and flowers to embellish a scene. I wanted to add some trees so I used my favorite, the palm tree, from MFT's Penguins in Paradise! Like I did in my first tunnel card, I cut white card stock for an A2 size card and then added an extra panel by gluing on a 5.5" x 4.75" (scored at 4.25 and folded) onto one side. Next I used the MFT Oval STAX to cut holes in the top and second panel. I drew light pencil lines for the sky water and sand on all 3 panels so they would match then I did some masking and used my Clarity brushes and dye inks to color them. I used Stampin' Up Bashful Blue for the sky, Ranger Distress Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the water and Distress Antique Linen for the sand. I used a flat brush and floated a little white acrylic paint in the water for waves. I added some sea grass to the middle panel using a Stampin' Up set called Wetlands. The next step was to color and cut out all the bits and pieces. I needed 5 palm trees, the Hula girl, some clouds, some flowers, a turtle, a pineapple and 2 lizards. To get the reverse image lizard, I stamped with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto waxed paper and then quickly rubbed it onto white card stock. The image wasn't perfect but it was clear enough to trace with a fine tip Micron black pen. This pen doesn't smudge when you color over it with Copics. Once the images were colored I used Herma Dotto repositionable adhesive to place everything and make sure it would work when the card was closed. When I was happy with the placement with the card open and closed, I glued everything into place. This card is really fun when you open it and bring the 2 side panels together to stand it up. It really does look like you are looking through a tunnel at a scene on the beach, and you get two views! One looking through the front side of the card... and another looking through the second panel side!! I hope you liked seeing this card and you give tunnel cards a try! I love how she used the sun from the set to create the cheery background. The vellum overlay gives it a dreamy look. Houston McGuirk Houston's sweet card just feels like fall. I love the warm colors she's chosen and the playful scene she created with the Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics. Xenia Rizova Xenia created this card for Sketch 284 awhile back, but I just love it! What pretty inspiration for creating your Christmas cards this year. Aloha! It's summer in Seattle and the nice weather inspired a tropical card: Played with this MFT stamp set Polynesian Paradise I have had for a while and am wondering why I waited so long! It stamps beautifully, is fun to color, and is super cute. The dies sped up the process, yay! So here's a close up since the first pic doesn't show the Shimmer Spritz over the watercolored background. The fun sparkling clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins gave just a touch of bling. Stamps: My Favorite Things BB Polynesian Paradise, Stampin' Up! Express Yourself (sentiment) Dies: Die-namics BB Polynesian Paradise, Die-namics Stitched Circle Frames, Papertrey Rounded Labels Just hopped the MFT new release. Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new MFT Sketch Challenge, and I LOVE this week's layout! I've used some goodies from the Vault Release for my card...Polynesian Paradise, Polynesian Paradise Die-namics and Tiki Hut Die-namics! SO fun! I began with the main panel of Smooth White Card Stock, which I cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and I used the same Die-namics to cut a panel of Natural Card Stock for the "sand" in my scene. I used the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink to create the sky. The tiki hut was cut from Kraft Card Stock, and I sponged the edges of the "straw" pieces with Kraft Premium Dye Ink. I used Jellybean Green Card Stock for the inside of my hut. I cut this cutie, and the flowers on the top of the hut, from No-Line Coloring Card Stock using the Polynesian Paradise Die-namics, and stamped them with Polynesian Paradise using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. I colored them with Copic Markers and popped them up with foam tape. The sentiment panel was cut from Smooth White Card Stock using the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics, and I stamped "HELLO, SUNSHINE" using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. Michelle Short Creative Team Member Francine Vuillème spotted Michelle's card on her blog, and it is filled with so much springtime sweetness. Francine says, "Love the adorable scene Michelle created with the Ewe are the Best set. It's so precious!" The pastoral scene looks delightful set against a blue sky created with the Homespun Gingham Paper Pack. Susanne Creative Team Member Torico spotted Susanne's masterpiece on Instagram following #mftstamps. Susanne was pretty proud of this exploding box card that she created with the Recipe for Happiness stamp set and Die-namics, and rightfully so! What a delightful result! Tracie Pond Creative Team Member Barbara Anders spotted Tracie's card on Instagram. Barbara says, "LOVE how she filled the card front with reasons she is thankful. Genius design!" I got my new release order this week and I really have not had any crafty time to play with them. I made a card using an ink blended background that I recently made from taking the Online Card Classes Background Check. I have a couple of cards that I created with the inked backgrounds. First up my card for this weeks sketch. I used the sketch for inspiration instead of strictly sticking to the sketch. I used the 4 squares as a quadrant and that is how I lined up my images for the card. Welcome back again! Today we continue with the MFT Stamps August Release Countdown! One more day of checking out all the fantastic new stamps, die, and stencils releasing soon! Its a Polynesian party on my blog today! One word my friends, pineapples. You know the love I have for the pineapples. The pineapple has long been a symbol of welcome and hospitality. You will often find them on bed posts and other home decor or furniture from days past. I just cannot get enough of pineapples, so the image in Polynesian Paradise from Birdie Brown got all my love and attention! After die cutting the image from Die-namics Polynesian Paradise, I stamped the pineapple image with Hybrid Black Licorice ink on Sweet Tooth card stock. I colored the image with Copic markers and highlighted the center of the segments with a white gel pen. It was then foam mounted to a circle cut with a new set of STAX called, Double Stitched Circle STAX. The sentiment, also from Polynesian Paradise, was stamped in my favorite black ink underneath the pineapple. To give my image and sentiment a pop, I placed it onto a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock cut with the new Die-namics Four Way Chevron Cover Up. What a cool cut! Behind it, I placed a panel of Daffodil card stock. Anyone else feeling a warm ocean breeze? Seeing the palm trees swaying? My love pineapples is growing! Look at Pineapple Background! Oh the joy! Pineapple Background is a red rubber cling image. Its awesome. I colored each part of the pineapple images with Distress Markers. Once I finished, I huffed, or breathed hot air (because I am full of that! ha!), onto my image to re-wet the coloring. Then I stamped onto a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock that had been cut with Die-namics Double Stitched Rectangle STAX. I layered the panel, and a Gumdrop Green panel, also die cut, onto a panel of card stock that had been inked with Stencil Wonky Chevron. Using a mixture of Lemon Drop ink and Safety Orange ink (to mimic the pineapples), I created a cool background. It kind of looks pineapple-y to me. Or maybe I just have pineapples on the brain! And finally, that awesome sentiment from Polynesian Paradise again. So cool! And because the tropics are on my brain and I am feeling a strong need to plan a Hawaiian vacation, one more adorable project! Die-namics Tiki Hut creates this crazy cute tiki hut and the fringed grass tops! I am not going to share too much about this project, because MFT Stamps has something special in store for everyone, so stay tuned! To figure out how to color this bird from Polynesian Paradise, I Googled tropical birds and found one I really liked. Its a great way to decide how to color something! Isn't she adorable? The whole card is just too much fun! Now I am off to eat pineapple, dream of warm beaches, and imagine the tropical breezes blowing my hair...or just go and do the dishes. Wink. My Favorite Things - Release Countdown Day 4 Hello and welcome to Day 4 of Release Countdown Week with MFT. I am so excited about this month's new products; Today we are showcasing some adorable new stamps from Birdie Brown and a super fun and sweet dieset to make a hut - Isn't it super cute???: This hut is perfect for a beachscene on a card but I Think it is cute like this on its own too! I die cut the different straw layers and inked them Before assembling them on a diecut hutcard. The girl and flowers attached using foam adhesive. And here's anothe way to use these wonderful stamps. I used the flower stamp to create a wreath window. The sky and water are inked using blu raspberry and tropical teal hybrid ink. Good morning! I'm so excited to have been invited to be Guest Designer at Time Out this week! It's extra special because today, Time Out Challenges is celebrating its 3rd birthday! They are having a celebration with lots of prizes and sponsors, so make sure you check it out! This challenge is a theme challenge: Love and/or Friendship with the Optional Technique Twist of "Spotlight Stamping" I chose a friendly greeting and made a mostly black-and-white card. I coloured my spotlight area with copics and popped it up. I used MFT Stamps Polynesian Paradise and matching dies. Congratulations to Sandie and the rest of the team at Time Out!
Hallo en goedemorgen, het is weer ouderwets tijd om af te tellen naar de nieuwe My Favorite Things Stamps release! Alle nieuwe producten zullen verkrijgbaar zijn in de MFT Boutique vanaf volgende week dinsdag 4 Augustus om 10.00 PM Vandaag van mij een voorbeeld gemaakt met de BB Polynesian Paradise stampset, en BB Polynesian Die-namics. Ik heb gekozen voor deze grappige cameleon, eerst uitgestanst en daarna bestempeld en gekleurd met Copics. De lay out is gemaakt met Blueprints 22 Die-namics in combinatie met de Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics. De achtergrond heb ik licht gesponst met behulp van het Wonky Chevron Stencil. Hello all, I wanted to share with you all a card I made for my niece's Birthday. Her other aunt wanted a special card & I was so pleased I got to make it! I just love the way this turned out!! I used the MFT Polynesian Girl Stamp. Maddie loves hot places & the sun. as you can see this is for her 19th Birthday, I love the floating HB & 19 done in the metallic paper. I Love the way they look sliding out of the envelopes. I play with the placing so that it is a beautiful scene as you open it. The back as always is a layers rectangle for writing on. I am not even gonna try to deny that this card took a whole lotta time and colouring!! But I have to say my sweet sweet Maddie is worth every minute! Hello! It’s time!! MFT’s August Vault Release is now live! Everything we’ve shown you the last two days is not available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique! I have another tropical-themed card for you today—maybe I’m stuck on these since we didn’t get to go on our annual trip to Belize this year, LOL! Maybe, but mainly because I love these sets so much and was SO happy to see them come back!! Today’s card features BB Polynesian Paradise Stamp Set and Die-namics along with Tiki Hut Die-namics. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers. Next I created the Tiki Hut, cut from Kraft card stock and sponged with Kraft dye ink and the sun, cut from Lemon Drop card stock with A2 Circle STAX My background was created by sponging Blue Breeze dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper using Rolling Clouds Stencil. Then I masked off the bottom and sponged it with Summer Splash dye ink and added the “sand” cut with Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics from Natural card stock sponged with Kraft dye ink and popped up on foam. Once all that was done I assembled all the pieces, using foam tape for dimension and heat embossed the sentiment for the finish. Thanks so much for stopping by! This is another card that I made with borrowed images from Saturday's Stamping day. I didn't buy this set (Polynesian Paradise) from MFT's release last month, but I'm regretting it now. Just look at this chameleon! There are a ton of adorable image stamps in this set. And it has great, sunny sentiments that would work in so many ways. I masked and stamped this little guy with the pretty flower grouping image, and added one of the sentiments. Yesterday, I coloured him with copics and then sponged a warm glow around him.

With two little girls, she loves to fill her house with all sorts of girly things. You can definitely see that portrayed in her lovely designs. Let's look at how Danielle interpreted this week's sketch: The beauty of this week's sketch is its simplicity allowing a myriad of interpretations. Danielle stamped the sentiment from the Encouraging Words stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder to create a resist. She then lightly traced an oval with pencil around the sentiment to resemble the oval in the sketch and watercolored over the white embossed sentiment inside the oval. For the rest of the card, she created her own background with watercolor pencils. The leaves were drawn with a green pencil first, then the little flowers colored with various watercolor pencils. Finally she used a tiny bit of water on a clean brush to smooth out the flowers and add a yellow background in the spaces between the flowers. What a lovely result! The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 242! Alice shifted the meat of the sketch to the right and used the doily as the oval of the sketch. It's a perfect place to feature the Coffee Cup Die-namics stamped and colored BEAUTIFULLY with florals from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. Erin Lee interpreted the oval as a festive balloon which she cut with the adorable patterned paper from the Dots & Stripes Fresh paper pack. The cute bear takes the place of the circle in the sketch. You'll notice he is on the right of her card rather than the left because he is then looking in to the design. Jill concentrated on the circle and flag of the sketch in this die cut dream. Though there is no oval to be seen, the arrows of the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics give the illusion of an oval, and the word bubble and sentiment give an extra dose of fun to her design. And does anyone else's wrist ache a little bit just thinking about all of the die cutting that Jill did? I thought so. Miriam used the oval to highlight a lovely Hawaiian princess from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. She sticks pretty closely to the sketch with her sentiment and pretty flowers emulating the circle and flag of the original sketch. Vera put the Tiki Hut Die-namics to work as the oval of the sketch, and she turned the sketch on its side to accommodate her fresh and sunny scene. The sentiment is shrunk and shifted to the right, but her enamel dot gives a nod to the circle in the sketch. Veronica pulls off a lovely design with lots of delicious background stamping on her oval and the card base. The circle becomes the perfect spot for a sweet bouquet of pretty roses, and the sentiment tops off this special creation. Congratulations, Wanda Cullen! Happy creative Monday, friends! Let's learn a little something here at the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! This week we're going to learn about Creating Depth with Dimension. Though flat cards are desirable for mailing, it's always fun to add some depth to our designs. You can always send your little masterpieces of love in a padded envelope or hand deliver them if you're worried about them getting crushed, but in the meantime, let's have some fun! Today's video will give you insight into how to create little bits of artistic dimension to your creations. Stephanie shares a nifty way to do just that! I remember the days before coordinating die cuts when I would sit on my couch and trim images. It's a fun way to relax and create! Let's take a look at a few examples of other creative ways to incorporate dimension in your designs. Karolyn went about creating some dimension by embossing the panel with the Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics using an embossing pad. Embossing adds easy and flat dimension (is that an oxymoron?). Her Upsy-Daisy flowers are popped up on foam adhesive for more dimensional fun! The dimension created in Barbara's design is two-fold. Her use of the Wonky Chevron stencil adds some depth to the card base, and the sunny circle is layered behind the main panel to create even more dimension. It all fits perfectly with the images and sentiment from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set! Julia is known for her lovely layered designs, and this one doesn't disappoint! Like Barbara, she cuts a window in the main panel (with the Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Die-namics), and pops up the main panel with a little bit of foam tape. The I'm Tweet on You images are dimensional as well with foam tape backing. Now it's your turn to create a card with dimension. You'll be pleased with the results! Welcome to our first Wednesday Sketch Challenge of September! As the summer winds down it's always fun to get back into the craft cave and create. And man oh MAN the September release sure is filled with inspiration, don't you think? Below you'll find Sketch 244. Let's give a warm welcome to this month's MFT Challenge & Inspiration Guest Designer, Lindsay Amrhein! Lindsay is a busy mother of two boys, but somehow she manages to cram in time to create. It's one way she can relax after a busy day! Because time is a factor (and isn't it for all of us?), Lindsay tends to make uncomplicated cards with pops of color and clean and simple designs. Lindsay has been playing along with our sketch challenges since January. It's always fun to see what she has created with products from My Favorite Things! Let's look at how Lindsay interpreted her first sketch as our guest designer: Sketch 244 is a simple one which is perfect for Lindsay's uncomplicated design sense. A bold rectangle takes the place of the tag, and she used her stellar coloring skills to created a tropical scene by combining the Birds of Paradise and Polynesian Paradise stamp sets. The lovely florals not only create a spot for the bird to rest, but it also takes the place of the banner of the sketch. The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 244! Alice elaborated on the sketch to creat this fun scene using the brand new London Mouse stamp set and London Skyline Die-namics. Big Ben replaces the tall aspect of the tag in the sketch while the utterly adorable mouse stands sentinel. Erin Lee sticks pretty closely to the sketch with the tag, the banner, and the rectangular panel. Her design is super glamorous with the gorgeous brand new Delicate Pretty Poppies stamp set and the Etched Flower Background stamp. Jill rocked out new stamps, Die-namics, and a stencil to create this energetic card. The Soda Pop line features all sorts of fun puns and iconic images. I love how Jill took the sketch and then angled it for this bubbly design. Miriam's stunning poppies steal the show on a crisp white banner. The contrast of the black sentiment and border frame the lovely design, and her artistic use of the Scattered Bars stencil creates a magnificent backdrop. Like Erin Lee, Vera stays pretty true to the sketch, but look how different the two cards turn out! The POWER of good sketch, don't you agree? I love how she paired the whimsical birds from the Birds of Paradise stamp set with the subtle and intricate background stamping. A very pretty juxtaposition, indeed! Veronica double layered the banner in place of the tag and inked up the brand new Fall Florals stamp set and Die-namics for this delightful autumnal bouquet. I have a warm and sunny share for you today and OMG how cute is this stamp set???? I adore it!! I had so much fun using some of my favourite stamps from it to make this cute little stepper card scene! I think this is one of my favourite new sets from the latest MFT release. There are still a few more bits on my wish list but I am so pleased with the ones I chose to get first!! I see some more fun cards coming along!! Huge hugs Lou xx
Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! It’s time for the August MFT Creative Challenge! This month, the MFT Design Team is playing in a tropical crafting paradise as we create with products that have a tropical theme! SO much fun!! I’ve used quite a few products to create my tropical scene! I started with the focal element, the fabulous tiki hut, created with the Tiki Hut Die-namics! This was SO fun and easy to create! I cut the base of the tiki hut from Chocolate Brown Card Stock, and then the roof from Kraft Card Stock. Before I attached each panel of the roof, I sponged them with Kraft Premium Dye Ink. LOVE! After my tiki hut was created, I started on the background. I cut a panel of Berrylicious Card Stock using Blueprints 7 Die-namics for the sky. I then added waves cut from Blu Raspberry Card Stock cut with the Making Waves Die-namics. I finished the panel off with the sand, cut from Natural Card Stock using the Snow Drifts Die-namics. The clouds were cut from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Cloud Trio Die-namics, and the sun was cut from Daffodil Prestige Card Stock using the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I added a mat to the main panel using Sweet Tooth Card Stock cut with the Blueprints 3 Die-namics. Once I had the background set, I added in the rest of the elements, which were cut from X-Press It Blending Card using the Tiki Party Die-namics and BB Polynesian Paradise Die-namics. I then stamped them using Tiki Party and BB Polynesian Paradise using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the Dot House Die-namics to cut the little sign, and stamped “ALOHA” using Chocolate Brown Premium Dye Ink. My Favorite Things - Release Countdown Day 4 Hello and welcome to Day 4 of Release Countdown Week with MFT. I am so excited about this month's new products; Today we are showcasing some adorable new stamps from Birdie Brown and a super fun and sweet dieset to make a hut - Isn't it super cute???: This hut is perfect for a beachscene on a card but I Think it is cute like this on its own too! I die cut the different straw layers and inked them Before assembling them on a diecut hutcard. The girl and flowers attached using foam adhesive. And here's anothe way to use these wonderful stamps. I used the flower stamp to create a wreath window. The sky and water are inked using blu raspberry and tropical teal hybrid ink.
