I have a simple Technique card to share with you today. This was one of the ones used for this month's class. I love the Pop of Pink specialty DSP .... and it was a perfect match for this Technique. The chevron is created when you fold back the top and bottom of small strips of paper .... and then join the strips together. The mailers I used were just a little too small for a 6x6 sheet, however, so I would up with hundreds (!!!) of 1 x 6 inch strips. Time to get creative! Items are 5" (W) X 7" (H) printed background cards. Cards have circles cut from front to expose attached iris folding design. Design is taped inside on the left side (when card is opened). The following describes each card. Blue/Purple (pictures 1 & 2)- card is a printed purple with white dots on the bottom. Four papers were used to create the iris folding- blue, blue triangle pattern, purple, and purple chevron. Blank inside. Beige (pictures 3 & 4)- card is a beige background with darker beige circle with red dots around iris folding area. Three papers were used to create iris folding- flower pattern, red and yellow with white polka dots. Blank inside. Blue/Green (pictures 5 & 6)- card has a square printed background. Four papers were used to create iris folding- blue, green with white dots, green stripe and beige. Blank inside. All cards come with a coordinating envelope and are in a clear envelope for protection until used. Cards will be mailed in a 5” X 7” clasp envelope unless order or card is too large. These cards are handmade. Therefore, is it possible that there are smudges, fingerprints, extra glue spots and slightly askew embellishments. I “eyeball” a lot of positioning of embellishments, stickers, etc. so some may be “slightly off.” Please see pictures of sale items as they are the product you will receive if ordered. If description says “printed” card and/or background, it means it was already the background or card base when I purchased it. In other words, it came that way and I added something or things to it. 😊 Several cards are white base with pattern paper added to make background (it may look like a “printed” background from the pictures. All cards are white inside unless otherwise stated in description above.

This fun fold card was remarkably easy to create - it just has several layers so it can be thick for mailing. I taught this card style and the first card is the one that I made for that video. I love the colours so much more than the original card below as they are bold and vibrant! The poinsettias and leaves were die cut from white cardstock, inked and then splattered with water to add some additional interest. They were assembled and adhered in two corners. The sentiment was die cut and placed on the first panel. This card is so pretty in real life and it sits perfectly for display purposes. There is a panel on the back to write a message. This was my first attempt and I chose very busy patterned papers - in hindsight, I would choose less detailed papers so they don't complete with the decorative elements. Enjoy, Alyson
