How would you like to make a card in FIVE minutes or LESS? It can be done . . . especially when you use this design. And, it looks good!! Clean and Simple is so 'in' right now and that's fine by me! I was inspired by a Christmas card I received this past year and on my video below, I actually show you the Christmas card. You will see the resemblance right away. The sentiment that I used on this card is from the hostess set called Perfect Words. The punch was recently introduced to the crafting world via the

I'm still can't get over how much I love this card. Isn't it just so stunning and soooo beautiful?! And it's so simple! I have to say that this was not my original idea, though I'd love for it to be :) I copied almost exactly from Connie Collins card. Connie is one of this years Artisan Award winners. I've been following her blog for a while and I love her work. Make sure you check out her blog after your stop here. You won't be disappointed! I wanted to keep my card like Connie's, her's was already beautiful, why change it? I did use a couple more layers of cardstock. I often find it challenging not to use multiple layers. Plus I don't like to have ribbon through the inside of the card. It's ok if others want to do it, and I will never stop you. But when I make a card, I really don't like the ribbon on the inside. :) I did go back and forth many, many times about using Pearls or Rhinestones. I'm glad I stuck with the pearls. :) Today is September 1! Do you know what that means????? Our Holiday Mini goes LIVE today!!! If you haven't had a chance to see it, make sure you check it out, in my opinion it's one of the best mini catalogs we've ever had!! Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!
We have a new Sketch Challenge (PPA131) at Pals Paper Arts this week using a versatile sketch I designed just for you! This sketch lends itself to so many possibilities and I hope you'll find it one you'll use over and over again! I love yellow and I paired it here with Pool Party, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, and Poppy Parade to create my Spring-themed thank you card! The featured flowers were made using several different punches and decorative brads. Faux stitching was added to highlight the patterned papers and dimensional leaves. This bright and cheery card just sings happiness!...
I think I am enjoying this Blog Hop just about as much as anybody!! I have really loved seeing the projects of my fellow Artisans. When I read how they went through the creative process to come up with their brilliant creations I am even MORE amazed!! You should just have come to this blog from the blog of my friend, Sarah Sagert. I am loving EVERYthing she has been posting. It is kind of hard to tell from the picture, but the focal image on this card (the pear) is recessed down into the card. AND it has my new favorite old thing, Crystal Effects. I am having so much fun adding it to things. In fact, I think it was THIS card that got me all jazzed about it again. And I haven't been doing a lot of coloring lately, so I figured it would be good to show Stampin' Up that I actually knew HOW ... on at least ONE of the things that I submitted!! Stamps: Faith in Nature Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Watercolor, Summer Smooches DSP Ink: Black Stazon, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Certainly Celery Accessories: Simply Scored, Antique Brads, 5/8" Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Crystal Effects, Blender Pen, Sewing Machine, Dimensionals Once again, it's time to move on to Amy Bollman's blog. MORE brilliance from her as well!

I've been trying to get my post up since Wednesday evening but Blogger has been down until yesterday; when I finally saw it was available, my time was UNavailable, lol! Thanks for checking! Blossoms, blossoms everywhere! It's spring and flowers are blooming here and there. Stampin' Up! has introduced it's new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch in the Spring Mini Catalog! It is the same type of mechanism as the Doily Triple Layer Punch about which I posted here and here. The new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch teams up with the Bold Blossoms stamp set to make fun, quick and attractive cards, scrapbook pages and projects for spring, summer or anytime! I received this lovely card made by "B" Schreiber in a swap which I hosted. She used the In Colors of Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, plus Daffodil Delight yellow and Regal Rose to the mix for a very spring-y color scheme! The looped punch-out flowers were done with the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, which makes several different images! So cool! "B" layered several punch-outs together to make the flowers and topped each with a Rhinestone. The sentiment from the set is stamped on white, punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered onto a Pear Pizzazz Oval Scallop Punch-out. In Color Pear Pizzazz ribbon is tied around the card for the finishing touch. The second card today is one I made after seeing the idea on the internet; I don't remember where I saw it so if it is yours, please let me know and I'll give you proper credit. It just stuck in my head so finally just had to make one to get it out! I did add the tag which wasn't on the original. It is so simple ... (you know the rest...), but really, I made a 3" x 3" white card and added a layer of the Concord Crush paper from the Lap of Luxury Designer Paper pack. Then I cut out a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock, cut strips of Brushed Silver cardstock for the ribbon and used a portion of a Brushed Silver Blossom Bouquet punch-out for the bow. I stamped the "4 you" from the Tiny Tags set with Concord Crush ink, punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch and tucked it under the lower corner to finish it off. How easy is that?!! You can order these items from your demonstrator, or if you don't have one, I would be so happy for you to place your order through my online store at Stampin' Up! HERE or contact me via email. Many thanks! Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a really good weekend! Margaret

As I was walking out of Marie Callender's with my mom yesterday after a little lunch (we always stop for a bite to eat after she goes to the doctor ... Marie Callendar's is right on our way!), I noticed a little patch of flowers along the sidewalk. Purples, yellows, oranges ... it made me realize that we don't have much more time to enjoy them before we are into the cold grayness of winter. There are things I love about winter (freshly fallen snow, the holidays, curling up in front of the fireplace with a good book), but being COLD is not one of them!! I am trying to appreciate more and more the time I get to spend with my mom as well. Gone are the days of her putting my hair up in rollers on Saturday night for church on Sunday morning ... long sessions of trying on dance costumes she was making for me for the umpteenth time to make sure they were going to fit ... shopping trips for new school clothes ... coming home to the smell of beef and homemade noodles and mashed potatoes (starchonstarch .... soooooo good!). I am amazed at how quickly the years have passed, But I am totally grateful that I have the opportunity to pay her back, in any small way I can, and take care of her some for all the years she has taken care of me ... physically, emotionally, spiritually. She has always been the greatest example of selflessness of anyone I have ever known. While doctor's visits and trips to the hospital are NO fun, being together with my mom is a priceless gift. I am so happy to have her as part of my life. Love you, Mom ... (I know she will never actually see this, as she practically doesn't even know/care how to turn a computer ON, but it feels good to acknowledge my gratitude for her, anyway). Enjoy the weekend, friends!! Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Lots of Thoughts Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist Ink: Old Olive Accessories: Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet Punch, Large Oval Punch, Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Assorted SU Buttons, Pop-Up Glue Dots

Happy Friday Everyone!! It is day 5 of my birthday week. Tomorrow is the last day and I know what you're thinking...well that only means 6 ...

This is a CASE of one of my own cards! I made this card for Leadership, when the Occasions Mini catalog was just starting because I love the Bold Blossom set. And now the Bold Blossom set is not only continuing into the Summer Mini, but also they've added some cool stuff to go with it! So I decided to make the card again, and add some new things! And it works the Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add a Flower. I added new Triple Layer Punch, Blossom Bouquet. I used two of the layer pieces to make these flowers - super fun! Then I added the 3/16" white brads for the centers. And here's the new White Baker's Twine! I love that it goes with everything - almost love it as much as the Linen Thread (my all-time favorite)! - And the Pear Seam Binding is going to carry-over, so you can still order it even though you won't see it in the Summer Mini. Hope you're having a great weekend, Julie
Hi there! Happy Saturday out there! I hope you are enjoying your day. I have kind of been on "creative haitus" this week. First Blogger wasn't cooperating, then life just got busy. I've had some much-needed time off with my husband over the past two weeks, so we have been doing a little traveling and relaxing. It has been great! I had a little time today to create and thought I would play along with the ColourQ challenge. How FUN are these colors?! That adorable rug in the inspiration photo immediately had me pulling out my Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. I LOVE that punch! I'm not saying it will be replacing my (current favorite) Butterfly punch, but it's close! The card itself was pretty simple to create but I really like how those awesome colors pop! The sentiment from the (ret.) Well Scripted set is heat embossed for some added shine. I also used the Finial Press embossing folder to play off the cut-out shapes in the flowers. All of the supplies used are listed at the end of the post. Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to catch a movie with my favorite guy. Be sure to stop by and check out the ColourQ, too. There is so much wonderful creative inspiration there. Until next time, have a very HAPPY day today! :) Stampin' Up!
