In my latest flurry of buying, I purchased a cute set from Papertrey that just isn't turning out to fit my style. I've not quite given up on it but put it aside while I ponder it some more. Another se
Hi everyone. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be sharing several watercolured cards that I've made. This was made for my good friend, Lee-Anne (Creatively LA). She has now received the card, so I'm sharing with you. :) I've had so much fun watercoloring, which is something I never thought I'd say. After taking a watercolouring class and struggling with many of the techniques (a few worked for me, lots didn't) ... I have found my own way of watercolouring and I'm really having fun! :) As I'm getting more comfortable with this medium, I'm experimenting and learning lots along the way. This one is done with Distress Inks and I love the vibrant colours. I'm entering this card into a few challenges that are running right now ... CAS-ology #116 (cue card: Splatter); AAA Cards #23 - Watercolours; and Virginia's View #8 - CAS. Also adding this to Simon Says - Use Watercolors. Stamps: Blooming Garden (Penny Black); Lots of Thanks (Simon Says) Paper: White card base (Neenah); Watercolor (Arches 140 lb. cold press) Ink: Archival Black - waterproof (Ranger); Distress inks: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick (Tim Holtz for Ranger) Accessories & Tools: waterbrushes, water mister, heat tool, paint brush for splattering Challenges: CAS-ology #116 AAA Cards #23 Virginia's View #8 Simon Says
Well here it is. The last of 3 cards that I challenged myself to create using this Fred Mullett stamp. If you are just tuning in, this weekend, I challenged myself to make 3 different cards using the same image stamps. I went for different colours and different layouts on all three. This one is very CAS but I think it has a real elegant feel to it. Saw the photo below and used those colours. I started by stamping the image using a combination of Distress inks and spraying with water before stamping. I added the sentiment and then the scoring lines to help pull it all together. Special thanks to everyone who so kindly left me a comment or who came to take a peek to see what I was up to. So very appreciated!! I may try this again with another image stamp that has some dust on it from sitting in the drawer. Hope you have a great week. Supplies: stamp; Fred Mullett, Studio G/ Distress inks/ Scoring tool

Hello, friends! It has been quite a while since I have been by the blog...a lot has happened in the past few months that has taken me away from crafting for a bit, but I am happy to be back. Today I'm sharing a card made for two challenges: (1) The Paper Players PP676: A Color Challenge from LeAnne using pinks, gray and white. (2) Taylored Expressions #TEMakerChallenge for February featuring two shades of pink (Bubblegum and Dragon Fruit) plus one color of choice. I choose to use Oyster as my gray option. My card features the Taylored Expressions Mandala Layering Stencil paired with the Foil It: Mandala Layering card foiled in silver. I CASED a card made by Jen Shults (at Deconstructing Jen) but used the challenge colors and a different sentiment. Here is the mini slim card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day: Taylored Expressions Supplies Used: Stamps: All Together Occasions 2 Stencils: Mandala Layering Stencil set Inks: Bubblegum, Dragon Fruit, Oyster, Oreo Dies: All Together Occasions 2, Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets, Petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklets Other: Silver Deco Foil, black foam backer (sentiment) Thank you, as always, for stopping by! Welcome to Verve's September Diva Inspirations Hop! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Verve Divas to breathe new life into some much-loved stamps and dies. I'm at the front of the line today, so if you're just popping in, pull up a chair and your favorite treat and hop around for some Verve-alicious eye candy! As usual, there's a PRIZE up for grabs, so be sure to leave a little shout out in the comment section of each blog as you hop about to be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift voucher to Verve Stamps! {A little gifty might be super handy for that new release we've got coming at the end of this month... just sayin'!} You can check out all the prize details and this month's sale info over at the Verve Blog. For my card, I pulled out Lean on Me and a few dies and got straight to work. I didn't have much time, so I knew I wanted to make the dies do most of the work. The flowers are embossed in early espresso onto designer paper, then cut with the coordinating Pointed Flowers Die Set. I accented a bit with Copic markers, then embossed the sentiment onto a Rounded Rectangle die cut and then matted with the Rounded Scalloped Frame Die. I distressed a strip of dp, then adhered to a soft sky base that is embossed with the SU! hexagons embossing folder. A little espresso satin ribbon and some chocolate liquid pearls around the frame and I was done. Thanks so much for stopping by! Next up on the hop is the talented Amy Kolling. I love patchwork quilts but I realized that I didn't have any in my life. I quickly changed that with this simple and fun quilt that combines some of my favorite fabrics and designers. it may look random, but there is actually a subtle pattern within the quilt. play around with your fabric choices - mixing fabrics that contrast in color and value. a black and white quilt would be striking! or consider a subtle quilt with fabrics in the same color palette. you don't have to limit yourself to only prints; an all solids quilt would be gorgeous and modern. measurements are included for five quilt sizes. print out the grid and swatch card to help you organize and plan out your quilt. MATERIALS: 9 prints, amounts vary backing fabric, 1-8 yards binding fabric, 1/3-5/8 yd YOU WILL ALSO NEED: thread batting, crib-queen size rotary cutter rotary mat ruler 1/4" foot SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 30"x30" 45"x45" 60"x60" 75"x75" 90"x90"

*Note* This is my second post for today! To see my Waltzingmouse Preview post, please scroll down or click HERE! Hi friends! This week Paper Smooches is teaming up with Scor-Pal! I happen to love both companies so this was extra fun for me! :-) For my project, I created a gift card holder. I love making these and try to keep a couple on hand at all times so I can just slip a gift card in when the need arises! I used this sweet little bird from the Woofers & Tweeters set. I embossed the sentiment (from the Birthday Sampler set) using gold embossing powder and then used one of the Streamers Dies to cut it out. I used my Scor-Buddy to emboss a frame directly on the patterned paper. I just love the added texture it gives! Here's a peek at the inside. The sides are stapled...

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I am playing with some spring colors today for a sweet birthday card with some products from Pretty Pink Posh. Shaker cards are always fun and these dies and sequins make them easy to put together! To create the shaker portion of the card I used the Storybook 5 Die. First I cut the die from pink cardstock. Behind the frame I added a piece of acetate, then a layer of foam tape., and then I dropped in the sequins. The final layer behind the frame is watercolor paper that I sponged with pink and yellow distress ink. My mix of sequins includes 4MM Sparkling Clear Sequins, 6MM Sparkling Clear Sequins, 4mm Fairytale Fuchsia Sequins, 6mm Ballerina Pink Sequins, Share Kindness Sequins Mix, and Iridescent Mini Star Confetti. I used a mix of stamps sets to add the details to my card. The sweet bunny, bow, and leaves are from the Holiday Pals Stamp Set and die cut with the Holiday Pals Coordinating Dies. This stamp set was released as a holiday set but I love that I can use many of the stamps in the set throughout the year! The present is from the Christmas Friends Stamp Set, the sentiment is from the Fox Friends Stamp Set, and the heart is die cut with the Fox Friends Coordinating Dies. And mark your calendars! The new Pretty Pink Posh release is coming on March 1st!! Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest Happy Birthday Shaker Card
