This crochet granny square cardigan is made with crochet rose flower granny squares that are designed to look natural and artistic.
The Granny Go Round cardigan is the sister pattern of the popular Granny Go Round Jumper! A top down, raglan cardigan worked in Granny stitch with DK yarn to keep you snug through the cool summer nights and winter months. It has a cropped body and sleeves but these can easily be lengthened, or keep it cropped for a fun, festival-ready bomber jacket! You can use any DK yarn providing the gauge is met. The pattern uses Hayfield Bonus DK which is quite a thick DK yarn, so bear this in mind when substituting yarns. The pattern is available in UK and US crochet terms and is intermediate level. The yoke requires some concentration but the body and sleeves are super straightforward. You’ll need a 4mm (G/6) hook & 5 x 20mm (3/4 in) buttons or toggles. There are many video tutorials for this pattern on my YouTube channel at youtube.com/@Iron_lamb SIZING: XS: Actual bust: 72-76cm - garment width: 42cm S: Actual bust: 82-86cm - garment width: 47cm M: Actual bust: 92-96cm - garment width: 52cm L: Actual bust: 102-106cm - garment width: 56cm XL: Actual bust: 112-116cm - garment width: 62cm 2XL: Actual bust: 122-126cm - garment width: 66cm 3XL: Actual bust: 132-136cm - garment width: 72cm 4XL: Actual bust: 142-146cm - garment width: 76cm Total cardigan DK yarn quantities: XS = 372g/1042m S = 420g/1176m M = 468g /1310m L = 517g/1448m XL = 565g/1582m 2XL = 614g/1719m 3XL = 661g/1851m 4XL = 710g/1988m Yarn quantities with 5 colours: Yarn A is used for neckband, cuffs, hem & stripes. In totaal ca. 22 bolletjes (550 gram / 4400 meter). Ik gebruikte van elke kleur 2 bolletjes. Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk Uni (25 gram / 140 meter) in de kleuren: 05 – beige, 12 – poederroze, 18 – cerise, 20 - zandroos. Van elk 2 bolletjes. Van de kleur 01 - naturel gebruikte ik 10 bolletjes. (450 gram / 2520 meter). ♥
The Novice Cardigan – Chunky Edition is worked from the top down. This means that you begin by working the ribbed neck edge, then you work the yoke, then the body and finally the sleeves. The cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch, while the edges are worked in rib. The Novice Cardigan – Chunky Edition has a round yoke, which is shaped by working 4 sets of increases evenly distributed along the yoke. Size Guide and Measurements Please note that knitting to the correct gauge is essential to end up with a garment that has the measurements given in the pattern. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit an approximate bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) 55-59 inches]. The Novice Cardigan – Chunky Edition is designed to have approx. 15 cm [6 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 15 cm [6 inches] larger in circumference than your body. This means that if you, for example, measure 88 cm [34¾ inches] around your bust or widest upper body part (measure yourself around your bust, or your widest point, using a measuring tape), you should knit a size S which has a circumference of 103 cm [40½ inches]. This will give you 15 cm [5¾ inches] of positive ease.
