Weekend causal in J Crew Matchstick jeans, navy Keds, Capwell & Co necklace, Caravelle New York watch and a striped tee from Intermix.
I'm sharing all the details behind this little navy jumpsuit I wore from Kelly Osbourne's collection called Stories by KO. A jumpsuit is both comfy and chic
After months of planning and preparation and an uncomfortably turbulent 22-hour flight, Natalie and I finally arrived in Hong Kong. I had shot a music video for 12 hours straight and headed straight to the airport in LA like a crazy person so I was pretty exhausted when I landed in HK, but I made the trek out to Sheung Wan for lunch anyway. After all, I didn't fly to the other side of the world to sleep. Here I am in my natural state, with a mouth full of food By the time we made it out, it was an awkward in-between-lunch-and-dinner hour so the menus were slim pickings. I'm not much of a snack or sandwich gal. We found a sus-looking food stand with the most basic college-kid stir fry and instant ramen, but for some reason, it being in HK made it taste extra special. Our friend Bryant was an awesome tour guide, showing us the basics of Hong Kong. Of course, he took us to all the major malls first. We took Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui and saw the breathtaking metropolitan Hong Kong skyline. Fancy malls and designer labels are wonderful and all, but my favorite part of traveling abroad is rummaging through all the small standalone shops. We ended our first day in Mong Kok, a district full of people and Hong Kong culture (versus the more Western side of HK). It was actually named the busiest district in the world by the Guiness World Records, and I can see why. I spent hours wading through a sea of people and finding bargains at dirt-cheap prices. I love language barriers and haggling with hand gestures alone and subsequently coming home with armloads of unique trinkets. Shopping for crystals for my BFF back home I couldn't have asked for a better first day! We had some setbacks in the beginning: misplaced passport (luckily, we found it), completely lost wallet, and transportation issues; not to mention the fact that my camera had arrived literally right before I left to the airport and I, being in a hurry, didn't pack a cable that was needed to charge my camera's battery. The [hopefully cohesive] photos you see here are a mishmash of photos from Natalie's camera, Bryant's camera, and my iPhone. But good news--I stumbled across a little camera shop that had just the charger I needed for my camera! I'm excited to put this baby to work. Lots of fun things happening on this trip; can't wait to show you! Until then...xx What I'm wearing: Dailylook dress. Vintage concho belt (similar here). Capwell+Co necklace. Birkenstock shoes. Somehow, this week has gotten away from me and my first post of the week is going up on a Thursday. Also, can we talk about how it's already Thursday? I know discussing the quick passage of time isn't exactly a "new" thing, but I'm still amazed at where it goes when I sit down to think about it. Summer is going to be over before we even realize it…I'll be ending mine in Iowa, so I really only have a few short weeks left of summer in NYC! Better get moving on my mini-to-do list. If you live in NYC and we mingle in some of the same areas, there's a really good chance you've passed me on the street in this dress lately. It's a Zara sale find that almost didn't happen…I'd been eyeing it (yes, there's a pun in there) online before the sale started, but didn't rush to make a purchase that night and it sold out in my size within a few hours. Fast forward a week and I found myself in the Fifth Avenue store before dinner with a friend, and there's a handful left! But all in a size M (I think the entire store was left in a size M, which in hindsight probably saved me a lot of money). I bought it anyways, and the rest, as they say, is history. I actually favor the looser fit over something skintight, so "the face" and I have become fast friends. Oh hey, I'm super blonde now. Are we loving or hating it? Anyhow, this little get up right here it's pretty much my new favorite outfit. Obviously you're probably not shocked to see the shorts, again, but I've added some new additions that kind of make this perfect. The sandals, hat and blouse are kind of doing it for me and the weather is just perfect enough to pull this off with no resistance whatsoever. I call it a win. Ann Taylor Dress | LOFT Jacket | Zara Heels |Vince Camuto Bag | Capwell earrings c/o Hope everyone is have a great weekend! Wanted to share one other way to wear this blush dress from Ann Taylor. The lightweight material and soft color makes it perfect for your spring wardrobe. To keep my outfit simple, I wore a cropped jean jacket and nude heels, making it a perfect outfit to wear to Sunday brunch. Lately I've been watching a lot of hair tutorials, I saw this tutorial on Makeup By Camila and had to try out the look. It was really easy, however I think it would look great won someone with highlights throughout their hair. It would give the look more dimension. It was kind of fun to switch things up, trying to learn how to do a crown braid, that might take a lot of practice...

Blazer: BCBG (similar here, also love this one) // Dress: Express (similar here) // Shoes: Nine West // Sunglasses: Karen Walker 'Super Duper' // Clutch: DVF via Eva Gentry Consignment // Necklace: Capwell + Co // Lips: Sephora 'Sexy Game' // Nails: OPI 'Over the Taupe' The holidays are quickly approaching with Thanksgiving right around the corner. Here's a spin on a classic LBD to brighten up your fall! This outfit can easily be taken from office to happy hour cocktails or to the holiday party. I love this LBD because of the soft quilted material and the fact that it compliments any body type. It's form fitting on top and cinches the waist for a flattering silhouette (I added by own skinny belt for emphasis). The blazer keeps it work appropriate, but the chartreuse color brings life to your entire outfit. Add statement baubles, a clutch and you're ready for a night out! For me, I try to get as much wear out of an outfit as possible, so transitioning a look from day to date night is definitely something I look for when getting dressed (because you never know when your husband will surprise you with an impromptu date night, right?). Now, in reality this dress kind of does it all, it's great for day and even better for night with the ladylike details with just a touch of sex appeal. So making the transition to date ready is practically effortless with the addition of a great accessory (I'm always a necklace kind of girl) and a smokey eye or a bold lip. I obviously started with some pretty basic fundamentals like Maidenform's Shortie Slimmer for piece of mind. Because, let's be real the dress is on a little the short side and flashing just about everyone and their mother while trekking up and down the stairs for the subway is not my idea of a good time. Now, aside from keeping things slim, they're ridiculously comfortable (and surprisingly weightless) so wearing them all day into night is probably the easiest part about this outfit - no change needed. I've been a Maidenform (bra) gal for years so this addition paired with with my Comfort Devotion Multi Way Bra is kind of a match made in heaven. When evening comes I finish things off by adding a pop of metallic with the necklace and bold lip to push things towards date ready. And, with the addition of a shoe change I'm ready to go. Of course, Summer nights occasionally call for a topper so I grab something to with a little edge, like my leather moto jacket to toughen up my otherwise feminine ensemble. My Day To Date Night transition tips: *A Statement Accessory (Earrings or Necklace) *Makeup Additions: Bold Lip or Smokey Eye *Ditch the tote for a clutch (or more dressed up bag) *Lose or gain a layer, toss your cardigan aside and bare your shoulders or throw on something with a tiny bit more edge on cooler nights. *Great (dare I say, sexy) heels. What's your favorite way to take your look from Day to Date Night? This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Maidenform. The opinions and text are all mine.
I don't know about you, but one of my greatest fears is showing up somewhere wearing the exact same outfit as someone else. When eShakti offered to send me a custom made piece, I was over the moon. How could you not love something that was made just for you? eShakti is your go-to place to get exactly what you want for your next event. For skirts, you have all sorts of options: mini, above knee, knee length, mid calf length [you can also choose pockets or no pockets!]. Depending on what top you choose, you also have many options here: cap sleeve, elbow length, inset cap, short length, three quarter length, tie-ups at shoulders, halter, wide straps, etc. Endless options! I'm into it. As for my outfit? I chose the halter bralette and skirt combo. I chose "wide straps" for the top and ordered the skirt in knee length with pockets. I don't know what it is, but it makes me so happy when a skirt or dress has pockets. I don't think I ever actually use them, but knowing that I have the option really tickles my fancy! If you're not sure what your exact measurements are, or how to go about figuring that out [because I had no idea], no worries, eShakti provides step by step instructions. I suggest having a friend measure you in order to get your correct measurements! Big thanks to my man friend for measuring me :D Top: c/o eShakti | Skirt: c/o eShakti | Earrings: LC Lauren Conrad | Necklace: Windsor [similar here & here --only $6!] | Bracelet: Capwell + Co. | Ring: Forever 21 | Bag: Victoria's Secret | Heels: ShoeMint [similar here, in black here] I cannot speak highly enough of eShakti as this outfit showed up in less than a week, fits perfectly, and the quality is great. eShakti is so very generously offering my readers 10% off their entire purchase now through August 2nd with code: Destyles.
