This resource has been updated 11 Sep 2022 to reflect changes in the Canadian government. Canada’s Government: High School Civics - 10 Graphic Organizers and 48 Task Cards is designed for students in high school in Canada. Ten topics are presented: Our System of Government, Our Head of State, Our Head of Government, The House of Commons, The Senate, The Federal Government, Provincial and Territorial Governments, Municipal Governments, Elections, and Citizenship. The graphic organizers are designed for teachers to use as an introductory tool for the 10 topics included. The topics/questions included in the box and the circle on the graphic organizer pages can be used for discussion points - there is no answer key for these statements or questions. Students can be assigned to find out more about what is raised in class – these discussion points are great for introducing a new topic. The 48 task cards can be used in a number of ways - in a centre with the cards cut out and laminated or photocopied as sheets for the students to work through, perhaps putting the pages of task cards and the answer recording sheets in a folder or binder. The task cards can also be used as group work or for review and can be used by students in pairs or groups to quiz each other. 8 of the task cards ask questions about local representatives and government. I have included a blank task card sheet if you wish to add some of your own – or have the students create some to quiz other students. A cover for the students to use for their answer recording sheets is also provided. There is an answer key (4 pages) for the 40 task card questions that are general – the cards about local government are not included in the answer key. Please note: This resource is very similar in style and content to another item I have in my store "Canada's Government - Finding Out More" (for younger students) - this product has been revised for older students but other than that it is similar - please do not buy both! This resource is also part of a 4-item bundle in which the components are sold at a lower price. The bundle can be seen here: Canadian Civics Bundle of 4 Resources

Pianist Charles Foreman made his debut in 1972 with the Chicago Civic Orchestra conducted by David Gilbert, playing the Brahms B-flat Concerto. Since then, he has won prizes in Canadian and U.S. piano competitions, received two Canada Council grants for study and performance in Europe, performed over 30 times with orchestras, and played over 750 solo and chamber recitals in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, and the U.S. Praised for his superb musicianship, his formidable technique, his vast repertoire, and his imaginative programming, Foreman has created several recital series, concluding Canada's first complete cycle of the solo piano works of Chopin in March, 2009. He completed his first cycle of the thirty-two Beethoven piano sonatas in 2005, to sold-out houses and standing ovations, a series he repeated from February, 2015 to May, 2016. In 2001, Foreman concluded his two-season \"Sounds of a Century\" project, ten recitals of twentieth-century piano music, one for each decade. On this release he presents works by Beethoven.
