Our favorite way to embellish them is by cutting the pieces in half on the top so you can open it with out having to take all the cute stuff off. The clips worked great for this. If we put all the ribbon and on the clip it was easy to put back on after you open it. See how we cut our pieces in half. To use 2 different sides, fold your paper like the picture shows. Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday... This weeks Curvy Keepsake Box was kind of inspired by a trip to the Disney Store in London. We were in London to see The Lion King, which was truly amazing and of course a trip to the Disney Store is an absolute must.....lol. Here is my Bestie posing inside the pumpkin, loved how they did this, on one side you had the pumpkin and on the other side you had the beautiful carriage below. Anyway on to the Curvy Keepsake Box.... So here we have Cinderella's Pumpkin Carriage, I started off with a Pumpkin Pie Curvy Keepsake Box. I used my pumpkin Pie Marker to draw curved lines on each panel, then I cut out a window on each side using the 1 1/4" circle punch. I used the Dazzling Details to go over the marker lines to add some sparkle. Then I cut out two 1 3/4" vellum Circles and using the White Gel Pen I drew some curtains on the vellum and then stuck them to the inside over the circle windows. For the decoration I cut out two of the smallest leaves from the Leaflets Framelits and layered them with some thin curled card, I tied them together with some Bakers Twine and stuck them to the box with some glue dots. I made a tiny hitch using the Word Window Punch and stuck it to the underneath of the box. I made some wheels using the 1" circle and the 1 1/4" circle layered them and added some detail. Then I attached them to some cocktail sticks with dimensionals and then to the bottom of the box. I added extra pieces of thin curled card to the bottom of the box to finish it off. Finally I made a tiny leaf tag using Teeny Tiny Sentiments and a leaf from the Leaflets Framelits, held on with a tiny peg. I hope you like,thanks for stopping by.... Happy Creating X

Hello and welcome back.... I so love Spring,seeing all the lambs in the fields and we do have rather a lot here in Wales....lol, so I thought I would make a Lamb Curvy Keepsake Box. Aren't they just adorable, now a lot of the punches I used to use to do my punch art are no longer available so its always a struggle to find something to replace them with but I think I have done really well with theses adorable lambs. The fluffy tufts on their heads are the smallest flower die from the Bloomin' Heart Framelits with the tiny flower from the Tree builder punch in the middle...cute huh. The ears are from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits dies and the head is a 2" circle punched out of Basic Black card and then cut down either side. The eyes are the 1/4" and 1/8" circle punches. I cut the box pieces out of Thick Whisper White Card and stamped them with the curly stamp from the Playful Pals stamp set, then I assembled the boxes and stuck the finished head on to the box with dimensionals. On the back of the box I added a little tail, made with one of the dies from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Die set. So very cute... Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We are showcasing lots of gorgeous projects from the new Stampin' Up! ® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping! A very warm welcome to you, especially if you have hopped to me from the lovely Tracy's blog - I do love seeing how creative other people are, don't you? :O) There are soooo many yummy things in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue - I think that it is one of the best yet! So many fantastic ideas for packaging, gifts and decorations..I love it all! Well, nearly all.... I'm a bit squeamish about (ok, terrified, of) spiders and so I think I may have to give the aptly-named "Frightful Wreath Simply Created Kit" on page 37 a wide berth - but only because of the beaded spider in the kit! (It seems that the dreaded annual 'Spider-month' has come early to my house this year and the hairy blighters have been both large in numbers and size so far ... eww... so I am extra spooked by them now - bleuuugh!!) I do, however, like the rest of the wreath though... and I do like Halloween a LOT... so I may just have to bypass the eight-legged beastie and get myself one of the kits afterall... Anyway, talking of Halloween, that brings me to my blog-hop projects that I would like to share with you today: One of my favourite things to do for Halloween is to make themed treats to give to people. As soon as I saw the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die and the box ideas in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue, I just knew that they would make great pumpkins due to the lovely curved shape and had to give it a try.... So, here is what I came up with: With my Bigshot and the thinlits, I used Pumpkin Pie cardstock to make the box and drew lines on it with the brush-tip end of my Pumpkin Pie Write Marker, to look like the ridges of the pumpkin. To make the leaves, I use the ever-useful Autumn Accents Bigz Die (from the Annual Catalogue) to cut out three of the serrated (Beech?) leaves from Old Olive cardstock. To give the leaves some texture I folded them in half - to make the central vein - and then pinched the serrations with my fingers to make more vein-like indentations along both sides of the leaves. Here is a view of the box from above, to show you better:  I made the tendrils by using my paper trimmer to cut long, tapered slivers from a piece of Old Olive cardstock and then rolled them tightly around my trusty Paper-Piercing Tool to produce the curved spirals. I then carefully glued them onto the uppermost box closure flap with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue, so that the box can be safely opened, to get to the sweeties inside it, without damaging the box. I couldn't resist making the cute little punch-art toad to go with it! He is made using the Small Oval Punch and the Owl Builder Punch - his smile comes from the little bit that you cut out using the notch-end of the punch from the fabby new Gift Box Punch Board, that is also in the new catalogue (I LOVE that new punch board, so easy to make fantastic boxes really quickly and easily!). After I had made the pumpkin, I began to think about what else I could make using the Curvy Keepsake Thinlets for Halloween and gosh, so many ideas sprang into my head! I decided to make a black witch's cat next... Just after I'd made the cat, I saw, on a facebook group, THE most amazing idea for a witch using the same thinlits. It was made by a lady called Lynn Starzl in America, so, I just had to CASE her idea and make a witch to complete my Halloween trio. Come and see: HOW cute is that witch?!! :O) Thank you Lynn! I love the use of the burlap ribbon strands for her hair and the hat is made from another of my favourite new things from the Autumn/Winter catalogue: the new Tree Punch!! So clever! The witch's hat slots over the box handles, so, it can easily be removed when you want to open the box and get to the treats inside! How clever is that?! I used the Owl Builder Punch for both the cat's and the witch's eyes and nose. The whiskers were hand-drawn with my white uni-ball Signo® Gel Pen. The cats ears are cut down from the Small Oval punch shapes. I DO love Stampin' Up's punches - they are just SO versatile! I have also used the same Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits to make several Christmas-themed boxes, other animals and even an Easter Chick (a little bit ahead of myself there, I know, but it shows that the catalogue items are not just for Autumn and Christmas!!). I will show you more ideas on future blog posts, so do come back again soon to see them. Happy Minion Monday! A couple of weeks ago I discovered that my manager loves Minions and as she was off sick last week I made her one of these to cheer her up. Let's say that today I'm getting in early for Christmas, rather than being late from last year ;-). Either way, I hope you enjoy seeing some Christmassy curvy keepsake characters. These are all based on cute boxes I've seen & pinned on Pinterest. Rudolf the Reindeer Rudolf is Santas favourite reindeer pal. He's based on this cute one by Darla. I added a fun tag from the Merry Everything stamp set & co-ordinating punch. You can see what I did on my handy dandy cheat sheet. and here's the combined image for you to pin or save. Santa's tummy & hat tag I saw a bajillion of these last year so I have no idea who thought of the idea in the first place, but the choice of pieces is based on what I thought looked right. The fab Santa hat was a brilliant idea from my fellow JAI team member & truly lovely lady, Nikki. Here's a closer pic of the tag. The hat is made with the pennant punch - sadly another retiring punch so get it now if you love making pennants... or Santa hats & it's 50% off too! To make it you'll need to punch 1 regular pennant in red & 1 scallop pennant in white. You place the white piece back into the punch - upside down so you can line up & cut the second scallop. The bobble top is a half inch circle. You can see a couple of options for making Santa's belly in my cheat sheet below. Note - the petite curly label punch is also retiring so if you like the cool, curvy shape, add that one to your list too. Here's the combines cheat sheet to pin or save. Christmas robin redbreast birdie This little birdie may be unfamiliar to my Australian peeps but when I saw Zoe's cute robin redbreast birdie box it made me smile & brought back memories of my Scottish childhood....& he's just so cute :-) I added another stamped tag using Merry Everything to make him even cuter too. I wasn't sure what dimensions Zoe used, but here's the cheat sheet showing the pieces & positioning. And here's the combined pic for you to pin or save. So, if you follow our Instagram (Jomina.Creations) you probably saw this really cute retro trailer made with the Curvy Keepsake Thinlits (Holiday Catalogue pg. 11) and wondered how to make it. We've decided to post the instructions here and then post a video tutorial later on. We hope you love this project and hope to see your CASE (copy and share everything) of this project! Make sure to hashtag #jominacreations 1. Using the Curvy Keepsake Thinlits (item #135853) cut two of the box thinlit in Whisper White (two makes one complete box) 2. Cut two of the curvy keepsake boxes in Costal Cabana 3. Cut the Coastal Cabana at the scored lines (created by the thinlit) away from the "box base" 4. Cut the Coastal Cabana at 1 1/4" 5. Glue Whisper White Box Together at square base. 6. Glue the Coastal Cabana pieces to the Whisper White box using either Fast Fuse Adhesive (item #129026) or Sticky Strip (item #104294) 7. Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (item #122334) score the box every 1/4" 8. Cut Silver Foil Paper (item #132178) in 1/8" strips and glue onto all four sides of the box. Cut to length. 9. Cut Silver Foil Paper in dimensions pictured above. 10. Cut Whisper White paper in dimensions pictured above. 11. Glue pieces together to create a door and window. 12. Glue door and window onto box using Fast Fuse or Sticky Strip. 13. Punch three, 3/4" circles and one, 1/2" in Basic Black paper. 14. Punch five, 1/2" circles in Whisper White paper. 15. Glue the three of the 1/2" Whisper White circles onto three, 3/4" Basic Black circles. Draw a dot with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item #100082) in the middle of the Whisper White Circles. These are three tires. 16. Dimensional one tire onto the window and one on each side of the trailer. 17. Glue the coastal cabana piece of the curvy keepsake (keep me piece) onto the bottom of the trailer, to create a "hitch". 18. Roll a piece of Basic Black paper and use a glue dot to attach to 1/2" Basic Black circle, this will create a stand. Place into slot. 19. Roll a piece of Whisper White 3/4" thick and glue a 1/2" Whisper White circle to each end. Glue this tube dot onto the "hitch." This completes the project. It's always a delight to receive orders for my handmade products especially at Christmas. These curvy keepsake boxes were made for one (large!) family so I thought I would make several designs so that people could "ohh" and "ahh" over what everyone else received. Making multiple designs also keeps the fun in the craft and doesn't let it get to be a tedious production line. The design possibilities are endless but keep in mind when making them in bulk that you want to keep things interesting for you and not overly labour intensive. These are full size curvy keepsake boxes (heartbreakingly now retired), but you could easily adapt them to fit the mini curvy keepsake dies. The first design is simple but effective and uses designer series paper for the interior panels. I made 5 in one paper and 5 in another. The second design was the most time consuming but the ones I enjoyed making the most because I got to sit and colour with Blends for a couple of hours. Are't the little Christmas gnomes from Gnome for the Holidays just the cutest? On the back I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set, Holly Jolly Everything. For the third design I pulled out the heat tool and embossing powder to add some festive reindeer, from the Festive Post stamp set, onto the Shaded Spruce cardstock. These adorable reindeers are what started this whole thing. I had this idea one morning and while the kids were away I put it into action and created 9 adorable reindeers. They're all created the same so it was just a matter of mass assembly. Their heads are created with a new ornament punch in the Holiday Catalog. I simply trimmed off the top of the ornament. Their noses are 1/2" Circle Punch and their antlers are branches that come with the Mini Curvy Keepsake Dies. That's it!!! I added some bells to them, of course! I used googlie eyes for them cause it's so cute! I ended up adding tails to them by trimming the middle out of the Everyday Label Punch. The reindeers are all cut out of Soft Suede and their antlers from Crumb Cake. I gave all but one an Early Espresso Nose. Rudolph of course has a Real Red nose. After the reindeer were made I *HAD* to have a sleigh. So trial and error I ended up creating one I like. I created this free PDF tutorial on the sleigh. I love this project so much. I think it would be so cute on a holiday table, buffet or anywhere. You could fill the sleigh with candy or other treats then at the end of the night everyone could take a reindeer home. So cute!!!!! Back in 2012 a cute little lion called Blossom visited my blog & he's been a fave & very popular little guy with blog visitors since. So of course I had to recreate him when I was in the middle of my curvy Keepsake box character obsession (back in October-November). I kept meaning to share the boxes but something else kept getting in the way. That is, until this week when (to my horror) I remembered that Blossom's punch namesake is on our list of retiring products. Noooo! Thankfully, the fabulous Curvy Keepsake box die will be carrying over to our new Annual Catalogue so definite sigh of relief from me about that :-) Anyway, I'm sure you want to see Blossom's updated look so here he is: You can see his cute little face & blossom punch mane & paws better in this pic. I sponged all the main punched pieces with crumb cake ink to add some extra depth. Can you work out which punches make Blossom? Well, you don't have to as I've here's a pic of my chart showing all the punches/shapes & there are links to all items below (click on the pic to see a bigger view). As of today, the blossom punch is still available to purchase, but will be gone for good on June 2nd...if it doesn't sell out before. Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday... This weeks Curvy Keepsake Box was kind of inspired by a trip to the Disney Store in London. We were in London to see The Lion King, which was truly amazing and of course a trip to the Disney Store is an absolute must.....lol. Here is my Bestie posing inside the pumpkin, loved how they did this, on one side you had the pumpkin and on the other side you had the beautiful carriage below. Anyway on to the Curvy Keepsake Box.... So here we have Cinderella's Pumpkin Carriage, I started off with a Pumpkin Pie Curvy Keepsake Box. I used my pumpkin Pie Marker to draw curved lines on each panel, then I cut out a window on each side using the 1 1/4" circle punch. I used the Dazzling Details to go over the marker lines to add some sparkle. Then I cut out two 1 3/4" vellum Circles and using the White Gel Pen I drew some curtains on the vellum and then stuck them to the inside over the circle windows. For the decoration I cut out two of the smallest leaves from the Leaflets Framelits and layered them with some thin curled card, I tied them together with some Bakers Twine and stuck them to the box with some glue dots. I made a tiny hitch using the Word Window Punch and stuck it to the underneath of the box. I made some wheels using the 1" circle and the 1 1/4" circle layered them and added some detail. Then I attached them to some cocktail sticks with dimensionals and then to the bottom of the box. I added extra pieces of thin curled card to the bottom of the box to finish it off. Finally I made a tiny leaf tag using Teeny Tiny Sentiments and a leaf from the Leaflets Framelits, held on with a tiny peg. I hope you like,thanks for stopping by.... Happy Creating X

Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday..... Today's box was inspired by this awesomely cute chap..... He was a Christmas present from my Best Friend Elaine,( I collect Bears! ) and he is just so adorable. And here he is with the curvy keepsake boxes. I made two slightly different boxes as I realised that some of the punches are now retired... The eyes use the small oval punch (retired), the 1/2" circle punch and the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch pack (retired). The nose is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the ears are the 1" circle punch. This box substitutes the wing from the Bird Builder Punch for the small oval punch and the larger circle from the Owl Builder Punch for the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch pack.. Both are pretty cute, but I think I like the first one the best.... I think my Panda agrees....lol I have listed all the products used below, just click on one to go to my on-line store to purchase. I have a long list of big & small obsessions & one of these is pandas. So when I saw this panda box pic on pinterest I HAD to make some of my own. I made two versions, one using the small oval punch (retiring on June 2nd) around the eyes & the original using the bird punch wing. Which one is your favourite. I can't pick :-) I wasn't sure which size pieces were used so I just played around until the proportions looked right. I also figured out a cool & easy way to make the mouth. I'm not very good at drawing (that's why I stamp) so I came up with the idea of using the negative from the heart punch as a guide to draw around. Also, I forgot to take a pic of the back of the box, but I glued together 3 white hearts to use as a little panda tail - cute! My cheat sheet gives you some different options to try. Gwen's Craftin and Stampin Gwen Maghdour Independent Stampin'Up Demonstrator Welcome to my Blog! Love this project made with the curvy keepsake thinlits dies, and I think the thought of having a tooth fairy box is a cute idea. This has been made using Pink Pirouette cardstock but alternatively could be made using soft sky. The thinlit die was cut twice and the image of the fairy was heat embossed with silver embossing powder on two of the sides. The two sections were then glued together with multi purpose liquid glue to form the curvy keepsake box. The two largest butterflies on top of the box were cut in half and positioned either side of the opening, these were made using the Butterflies thinlit dies, pink pirouette and very vanilla cardstock used. The smaller butterflies were all stamped using papillon potpourri stamp set and heat embossed with silver embossing powder, elegant butterfly punch and bitty butterfly punch were used to cut out the butterflies, The smaller ones were attached to the fairy wings to give a 3D effect and the larger elegant butterfly was cut in half and attached either side of the opening on top of the box. Earlier this week I had a FABULOUS evening crafting with friends. Yup, that's what a Stampin' Up! party is all about!! I brought all the supplies to make a couple of fun projects, and this little Halloween bat box was one of them. Do you recognize the Curvy Keepsake Box…
