Ok guys - I need an honest opinion here. Am I alone in thinking that on a 1-10 squeezability scale, Baby R's cheeks are a 15? No? Cool.
Nothing makes me happier than people I know starting their own businesses - seriously, it's the coolest thing ever!! It's even better when I get to document branding sessions for them. The cherry on top is when they get to involve their families! Christina's branding session was just that - the perfect mix of family and work!! Apparently, that IS a thing ????. Wait until you see the photos of Baby Annabelle working with her mama on their computers...I was basically melting the entire session. Christina helps you plan the PERFECT Disney vacation and her office is the most perfect mix of Disney and femininity!! I had SO much fun with Christina (seriously, I haven't laughed that much during a session in a LONG time!!) & I'm so thrilled I was able to capture this branding session for her.
In March, I traveled to Delaware to visit my family, & got the opportunity to shoot their family portraits at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. First off, if you've never been there and you're close to it, please go. You'll thank me. It's absolutely gorgeous & you'll love it! I snapped the first few shots the night before on their back deck...the sunset was gorgeous & I was more than thrilled to see that the summer light was back!
Shannon & Alec met me on a beautiful cloudy day on Foss Mountain for their engagement session! They are RECENTLY engaged – like…a few weeks recently!! Despite the fact that we had tons of clouds up on top of the mountain, it was still absolutely stunning. The colors were popping & the view was perfect, […]
Jay & Jessica picked the most gorgeous venue for their wedding - the Inn at Pleasant Lake - & friends!! If you're in NH, you need to check out how gorgeous the Inn is!
I met Kevin & Ashley at the Merrimack River Conservation Area in Concord, NH (if you’ve never been, it’s beautiful!!) & I knew we’d hit it off right away! They were so sweet and so obviously in love with each other that they made my job SO easy. The temperature was in the 90’s and […]
I first met Liz & Rob 3 years ago at her sister's wedding & always hoped that they would hire me when the time came. When I got her inquiry, I couldn't say yes fast enough!! Liz & Rob are two of the genuinely happiest & kindest people I've ever met, and that couldn't have been more obvious during the toasts from their family and friends. I smiled while editing their photos because Liz's grin is just SO contagious (even through a screen!), and I could feel their joy all day. They promised forever to each other under an old oak in front of all of their people (that Publick House ceremony spot is 👌🏻) and then danced the night away under the tent. From their beautiful first look and private vows to their hilariously fun sunset portraits to their reception, this wedding was one for the books. I don't think I saw the dance floor empty for more than a minute or two at a time and it was just so. much. fun. And yes - that is her mom cutting the bottom of her dress off during cocktail hour! I absolutely adore these two and their families and can't wait to see what the future holds for them!! Congratulations, you two!! xoxo
I've been looking forward to this wedding since the moment that Maeve & Jackie booked me - not only did it sound completely epic but they're two of the sweetest people I've ever met! Every single person who was in attendance at their wedding was so overjoyed to be there to witness their union and it was so obvious how they've both had such an impact on everyone's lives! Maeve & Jackie had the sweetest first look that had everyone tearing up followed by portraits at Fan Pier Park in the Seaport. We missed their sweet baby Winni (but don't worry, her presence was there in the form of their specialty drink!), but had the best time walking around Boston. The Boston Exchange Center is such a unique venue and fit their vision of a party perfectly!! They ended the night with sunset photos and a pizza truck (honestly the only way to serve snacks at a wedding IMO). I am so so so excited for these two and absolutely honored that they chose me to capture their day!! I can't wait to see your lives unfold together, Maeve & Jackie! Congratulations, xoxoxo.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love branding sessions? Kelly contacted me to get some headshots for her new digital marketing company and we met at Brewster Academy (where she went to school!!). It's such a gorgeous campus and the light was absolutely gorgeous that night! We had so much fun walking around the whole campus & shooting some seriously beautiful portraits! The ivy there is OUT OF CONTROL, and so is that sunset light!! I'm so excited to see her succeed with her new business!!
I can't believe that it's been TWO years since I last went to Iceland, and a few weeks ago when all the photos were popping up in my Facebook feed, I realized there are a LOT of photos I haven't shared from the trip!! I took my trusty old film camera with me and shot 9 rolls of film while we were there. I find film to capture light SO much better than any digital medium, and looking back, I'm so happy that I lugged that heavy old camera with me!! From the city streets of Reykjavik to the Jokusarlon iceberg lagoon, I captured it all! All images were shot on a Mamiya 645 with Fuji 400 film (RIP Fuji 😭) and developed by The FIND Lab. I blogged about that winter trip here, and I also wrote another blog post about doing a 10 day spring road trip around the country here.
Megan & CJ brought the fire for their session at sunset - and if you haven't added "sunset on Santorini" to your bucket list, may I recommend it? Not only did the sun DELIVER, but between that and the bougainvillea spilling over the walls, it was a literal dream to capture! These two were so much fun to photograph & we had the best time walking around and putting every single drop of that sunset to use!
I essentially grew up on a sailboat. My dad has owned one my entire life & every Sunday (and now, too!) you'd find him, my sister & I out on the ocean. The man never misses a Sunday. It's literally his favorite place in the world. Even if it's windy, you'll still find him puttering around on his boat on a Sunday, or taking it out for a nice sunset cruise through the harbor. So you'll understand his excitement when my adopted (uncle? cousin?) took us out on his sailboat for the day in Maine (Atlantic Ocean! Same as the Pacific, as it turns out). We sailed out of Freeport and weaved our ways through the little islands (I'd probably sell my soul to live on one of those; they're my favorites! Proof: Peaks Island). The smell of salt & the sound of the seagulls screaming overhead & the wind blowing in my face brought me back to being 5 years old - as did the sight of my dad happily captaining the boat. In the middle of winter, we all need a reminder of what summer looks like :). Here's to living vicariously through photos!
Somehow the 3rd quarter of the year because the fastest one yet - how did the summer blow by so quickly!? Our library reopened and I stocked up on all the books I'd been waiting for, & along the way found some of my favorites for the year!! It's so interesting to me to watch the fluctuation through the year of physical books vs. Kindle (last quarter it was heavily Kindle but I always seem to go back to real books in the end!).

A bohemian inspired wedding at the Barn on the Pemi in Plymouth, New Hampshire.
I love being able to see my couples after they're married, and Brooke & Shaun are no exception! Brooke & I originally bonded over our love of summers at Ossipee Lake which means we've all seen each other more than my other couples, but I was absolutely THRILLED to have the opportunity to photograph them just after their first anniversary! Not only was the sunset completely unreal, but these two are basically professionals in front of my camera at this point 😂. I am so excited for this next season of life that they're entering, and even more excited that I *finally* got to meet their dog Copley (I said what I said). Happy anniversary, you two!! xoxo
I had the pleasure of meeting Colin, Kate & their adorable pup, Murphy on the most quintessential New England Fall afternoon! The Patriots were playing & the leaves were crunchy under our shoes. We had so much fun strolling around Prescott Park & exploring the little side streets with the gorgeous old Colonial houses!! Their […]
In July, I went on a retreat to Mexico with some of the Ireland girls & even though our faces pretty much melted off (I mean - Mexico in July!?),
I first met Alex when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding last spring & instantly loved her!! She has a contagious laugh, a hilarious sense of humor and is just such a sweet person!! She contacted me for a couples session after she and Kevin got married in a sweet little backyard ceremony. They […]
Ray and Sarah were married on a hot, muggy June day overlooking Millen Lake surrounded by their family and friends. There was so much love in the air and it was truly one of the sweetest ceremonies and first looks that I’ve ever been able to photograph!! They were joined by their sweet puppy Tilly […]

Figuring out your wedding day timeline can be a REALLY daunting task - when it came to a rough draft for my own wedding I totally froze up - and I help my brides write them all the time!! Once you figure out a few key components, it's super easy! Like I said, I help all my brides write them because it's something you've never done before & you have NO idea how long things will take!! Here are a few tips to help make your timeline go smoothly.

The weather here has been SO sketchy lately that we had to reschedule Mike & Megan's engagement session twice!! The day arrived & the weather was perfect.
Alden & Lauren are two of the most joyful people I've ever met, and couldn't have been sweeter! They were on their honeymoon, and what an honor it was to photograph them in the stunning village of Oia on Santorini! We wandered the streets, found the BEST lookouts and captured so many sweet moments. The bougainvillea main charactered HARD throughout this session (can you even deal with the vibrancy of that color!?), and A & L lit up in front of the camera. These two were an absolute DREAM to photograph and I'm so thrilled that we were able to connect!!
Jay & Jessica are getting married in 2 WEEKS!! They live in Chicago, so the first time I met them was at their engagement session – no pressure, right? I have never been to Lake Sunapee and when that’s where we decided on for their session, I was so excited!! It was a gorgeous location […]
Stone walls, climbing ivy & the most lush wisteria provided the backdrop for an incredible intimate elopement on the grounds of Ross Castle, located in lovely scenic Galway, Ireland. Can you imagine strolling out the French doors, dressed in your custom lace wedding gown to find the love of your life standing in the gardens waiting for you? For these two gorgeous women, they were able to wander the grounds and linger in the flowers. Melissa's bouquet was supplemented with fresh flowers from the property & the walls reverberated with laughter all afternoon.
Last March, I was lucky enough to play a part in the 1st Boston NotWedding! It was held downtown at the Petit Robert Central Bistro (such a gorgeous little restaurant!) & I had a blast. It was SO COLD (maybe 40 degrees PLUS windchill?) but our couple, Steve & Lauren were such troopers! The inspiration board was full of vibrant oranges & corals & the tables that the vendors came up with were simply stunning. I pretty much drooled over EVERY SINGLE table. Seriously, the best. And the flowers, OHMYGOD THE FLOWERS.

In the fall, my group of girlfriends and I decided we should go to Iceland. In February. Mid winter. With 4 months planning. Oh, and did I mention it was 2 weeks before my wedding? ???? Once we decided to do it, the planning came quickly. 7 of us got together, rented 2 cars, a bunch of apartments & planned our route!! We'd planned on cooking all of our own food to keep the costs down, so we always made sure to book places that had complete kitchens - it honestly made all the difference in our budgets!
The 3rd quarter of this year came in hot...and you'll see that when you realize that I only read 11 books (and most of them were audiobooks) ????. I read a few that I liked and couldn't stop thinking about (one in particular), and then a few were old favorites of mine. Read on for some reviews & check out my first quarter and second quarter books!! And don’t forget to check out the highlights on my Instagram for more!!
I can't believe that it's already 2021 and I'm recapping the first quarter! My goal is 100 books again this year (who knows if it's going to work 🤷🏼♀️), and so far I'm on track for it! I read a lot of brain candy the first quarter, but also read some incredible books as well! I'm still working off a list and I'm constantly raiding the new book section at the library.
Shannon and I met up in Fryebyurg, Maine at a gorgeous property right on the Saco River. The colors were vibrant and the sun kept peeking out through the clouds, and even though it was pretty chilly, you'd never know!! Shannon is a senior this year at Kingwood Regional High School & I can't wait to see what she does in the next few years!!

Lauren & Jesse are two of the cutest humans on the planet and we had the best time at their engagement session! They're getting married next summer and we discussed alllllll the wedding things during our time together on Foss. The clouds brought the DRAMA to the session and made it all more dramatic - we also definitely squeezed every moment of light out of our time! I cannot WAIT to see these two get married in a year!!
We got married last February, but decided to defer our honeymoon for a year due to time & budget constraints (yo, weddings are EXPENSIVE!). To be honest, I think a lot of people just assumed we'd never actually go anywhere and that we were just talking about going SOMEDAY. Last fall we decided we needed to narrow down a location to visit so we could go in February, and settled on St. John. My requirements were somewhere warm with a nice beach or two, and JB's were somewhere warm with stuff to do other than sit on a beach (spoiler alert: he sat on a lot of beaches ????). We'd never been to the US Virgin Islands but had heard so many good things about them that we were absolutely pumped.
The thing about traveling with a bunch of photographers is that there is literally a shoot EVERY MINUTE of every day - which let's be honest, I freaking love. We shot 4 (5? who knows) sessions pretty much back to back and we woke up at dawn to pack our cars to make the trek to Government Cove. It was POURING - I

September was freaking GORGEOUS here. I mean, classic New England weather…but when Evan & Audrey’s engagement session rolled around, it was FREEZING. I mean, not freezing compared to now but…chilly. We hiked Foss Mountain (which is SUCH an important place for Evan’s family) & it wasn’t bad until we reached the summit…where it was windy […]
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I took a solo trip to Iceland at the beginning of this month for 10 days!! Way back in the fall I’d planned to take 2 weeks off in May before wedding season started & just didn’t have a destination picked!! When I was randomly looking at […]
Somehow, even though I was constantly traveling during the last quarter of 2019, I managed to knock it out of the park with a whopping 29 BOOKS. Even I can't believe it! I finished the year at 82 books (you'll remember my goal was 75!) and was quite proud of myself even though there were some months where I barely picked up a book (August, I'm looking at you). I'm so excited to do this again for 2020 & discover a bunch of new authors. Also...it bears repeating that I don't buy books & borrowed almost ALL of these. Our library allows us to borrow e-books which is the BEST. They almost always have a digital copy of a book they don't carry in the library, so its totally worth it!
Jay & Jessica picked the most gorgeous venue for their wedding - the Inn at Pleasant Lake - & friends!! If you're in NH, you need to check out how gorgeous the Inn is!
Tim & Sonya are getting married in a MONTH!! I’m so excited to be able to photograph their big day, especially after we had so much fun together at their engagement session!! I knew that we’d hit it off after the first few minutes!! We met at Lynch Park in Beverly, Massachusetts (right on the […]
I first met Jesse & Sarah in February during their engagement session – and during it, we talked about how nice the weather would be during their wedding (mid September!). Little did we know that it would be in the mid 80s & humid!! Oh well – their day more than made up for it! Their […]
