This little lap-blanket is crocheted as a full circle, using a large hook with 2 strands of yarn held together. It’s fast and easy, and the big stitches give it lots of loft and a relaxed drape. It works well as an around-the-shoulders wrap, too. This makes a great prayer shawl. U.S. crochet terms Skill Level Easy Yarn approx. 1600 yds/1463m acrylic, wool, or blend worsted weight in 3 colors Schematic diagram included. Light and airy, this absolutely charming sweater combines a delicate eyelet lace pattern with a smart shoulder line simulating a twisted rib yoke. The sweater is worked bottom up in the round up to the underarm. Then, front and back are divided to be worked separately. The pretty puffy sleeves are voluminous and worked by picking up stitches from the body. They are worked top down in the round and a ‘balloon’ effect is created by working a tight rib at the cuffs. The model in the picture is 169 cm tall and wears a size 2. Yarn 11 (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) skeins of Kidsilk Lace Gregoria Fibers (25g = 230 yards/ 210 m) (73% superkid mohair, 27% silk). The sweater is worked holding three strands of yarn together. For the sample we used three strands of our colourway “Ivory”. Needles US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, cable length 16 or 24” (40 or 60 cm) and 32 or 40” (80 or 100 cm) for both pattern stitch and stockinette stitch. US 6 / 4 mm DPN. Gauge 20 stitches x 26 rnds = 4” / 10 cm on US 6 (4 mm) needles in pattern stitch worked in the round after blocking. Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) The sweater is designed to be worn with approximately 1.8” (4.5 cm) of positive ease at the bust. Finished bust circumference: 36 (38, 40, 43, 47, 51, 55)”/ 89.5 (94.5, 99.5, 108.5, 118.5, 128.5, 138.5) cm. Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) are intended to fit a real bust circumference of about 33.4 (35.4, 37.4, 40.9, 44.8, 48.8, 52.7)“ / 85 (90, 95, 104, 114, 124, 134) cm.

Brrr! Is it getting chilly yet where you are? We’ve had our first freeze here in Kansas and I’m sure more are to come soon. I have to admit – I’m enjoying the cooler temps and am anxiously awaiting the beautiful colors of fall. One of my favorite things about fall is dressing in layers and wearing all the cozy makes! Hats, scarves, headbands and especially – mittens! I don’t know about you, but I actually prefer mittens to traditional gloves. They’re so cozy, and just the thought of a mitten puts me into a winterish mood! When designing these mittens, I wanted to choose a fibre that would not only keep me warm, but also hold up to heavy wear. I decided to use Premier Yarn’s Anti-Pilling. This fabulous yarn checked off all of my […]
