Compound bow is an advancement of the traditional bow and arrow. Today, it is one of the most popular hunting weapons. It works in a similar fashion though. There is an arrow that is shot using a bow. I am trying to figure out the effectiveness of the weapon from a hunting perspective. For this purpose, here is an explanation of pros and cons of it before we draw a conclusion: Pros of Compound Bow Less Draw Weight Compound bow is often compared with a crossbow. But, crossbow is a heavier weapon which makes it difficult to handle at times. Compound bow has a lower draw weight and is easier to handle. Also, it is easier to carry it with you, thanks to its low weight. Effective Speed and Range One factor that determines the effectiveness of a hunting weapon is its speed. Fortunately, compound bow offers a great speed. It can shoot arrows at an enormous speed. You won’t believe the velocity unless you use it once. Apart from speed, range is another factor that makes it an effective hunting weapon. It can shoot at a good range as well. Cheapest Hunting Weapon Compound bow proves to be the cheapest hunting weapon. It is cheaper than all other hunting weapons such as airguns, pellet guns, and crossbows. Another advantage is that you are allowed to reuse the arrows. Once you have hunted an animal, you can use that arrow to hunt another. Excellent for Big Game and Small Game Hunting Compound bow is equally effective for hunting both small game and big game. It is one of the few weapons that allow both types of hunting. It can easily take down a big game such as deer. Als, it is great for hunting birds such as quails and ducks etc. Cons of Compound Bow Difficult to Use Using a compound bow requires a lot of practice. An unskilled user can’t use it. You need to have enough skills to use it accurately. Not Beginner Friendly It is not a beginner friendly hunting weapon. You first need to do a lot of practice before becoming able to use it in the right manner. Not for Disabled Hunters Sorry for the disabled hunters, this hunting weapon is not an option. It is hard to handle for disabled hunters. Conclusion To conclude, I can say that compound bow is the most effective hunting weapon. Yes, it is difficult to use, but once you practice it, you will have the best hunting experience. Read Also: 3 Excellent Camping Knives in 2020

I'm amazed when I hear archers debating the pros and cons of shooting with either one or both eyes open. Physiologically speaking, monocular vision (closing one eye) diminishes both peripheral field of view and depth perception. In essence, you're half-blind when you aim with one eye. With a complete field of view, you can acquire your target considerably quicker than you can with one eye closed. If an animal is moving left or right in your periphery and you close one eye, you'll lose it. Let In the Light Hunting with both eyes open helps you in low-light situations, too. Looking through a peep sight with one eye closed during low light hinders your ability to see the target, since the peep somewhat blocks light from entering your one open eye. With both eyes open, the non-dominant eye is gathering light without being hindered, allowing you to aim much more efficiently when ambient light is lacking.
