Hi Everyone! In recent days I have had a little more time to myself as the summer is coming to a bitter end for the kiddos as school is starting up again next week. I can hardly contain my excitement while writing that... My insides are giddy and smiling! :) So,... on these days when they are off with their friends, I get to play with my new acquisitions from Stampin' Up! :) When the catalog came out in July, I spied the set Bootiful Occasions. The images in this set are SO CUTE. Try as I might to pass it up, I just could not.. So here is my first card with this Uber cute set - Considering Halloween is coming up, I started with the witches boot first. I paired it with the gorgeous Howlstooth DSP from the holiday mini catalog. I colored my boot with my blender pen and More Mustard ink, and then paper pieced the strap and inside of the boot with the opposite side of the multicolored panel shown. I really think it turned out great. Can't wait to play some more! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Heather :) Stamps - Bootiful Occasions Paper - Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP Ink - Black Stazon, More Mustard Accessories - Big Shot, Stripe EF, Delicate Doilies Sizzlit, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, Dimensional dots, blender pen
I love this set of stamps. I knew as soon as I saw it, I would use each and every stamp. So, starting today and on through Monda...
It's the last week of summer break AND it's Fair Week!!! My boys are so excited to go to the rodeo and wear their new cowboy boots...they are counting the days! I woke up at dark o'clock this morning, but forced myself to stay in bed a little while longer. Of course I couldn't sleep because my mind was brewing up images for a fun fair themed card. I knew I wanted to use the super cute cowboy boot from the Bootiful Occasions set. Just wasn't sure about a layout. Until...I saw a sketch at The Paper Players! This is the first time I've checked out their site and I am soooo happy I did! The sketch was perfect for this card! PP110 Love, love, love the look of the new Core'dinations Card Stock and the Woodgrain Embossing folder together. Makes me think of the bleacher seats at the rodeo. Add in a few Antique Brass Brads and some linen thread you've got the look of a saddle and rope! It won't be long now before we will be getting our boots out! I don't have any as cute as these but my toes will be toasty warm. This card was a make & take at this month's workshop and Monthly Card Class. The background is stamped with Illuminate ink pad using the Festive Flurry Snowflake (HM pg 30). I stamped the boot on Whisper White and Pool Party then cut out the Pool Party boot and glued it on top of the White base. Use the White gel pen to color in the pom pom on the Pool Party. We glammed out the boots with a Rhinestone. Stamp Sets: Bootiful Occasions, Festive Flurry Ink: Stazon Black, White Gel Pen, Illuminate Card Stock: Whisper White, Pool Party, Winter Frost- DSP And More: Rhinestones

Wow, this is the 6th Edition of the Stamp Review Crew already, can you believe it?! We are so ready to provide you with a load of surprising ways to use this set :) Don't forget, you can always get to the landing zone for this hop here so if you get lost, it will get you back on track. If you are following in order, you have just arrived from Adriana's blog with her grunge gorgeous projects! This card combines a couple of techniques, Emboss Resist, and and Inked Acrylic Block to achieve a watercolored look. I have to admit, I had to sponge a bit to fill in all of the block, and the embossed spatter prevented the inked block from reaching the paper. I hope you can see the embossed splatters on the flowers, they are done with Iridescent Ice on coffee filters I die-cut with the Floral framelits, embossed, then sponged the color on. I was going for raindrops as the effect on both the panel and the flowers. I repeated the same effect on the inside. It could have been a little smaller. BUT, I am typing this up late Sunday evening and still have at least one more idea I want to get on this hop before midnight. Priorities I tell you! I had to make a coordinating tag for this card. This one I just sponged over the embossing on the tag, no Acrylic Block stamping on this one. Here is my take on grunge rainbow, and some mud! I had to do some mud :) The rainbow and mud is more emboss resist with clear embossing powder on Crumb Cake paper. I used a retired embossing folder, Cloudy Day from last year's Occasion Mini. You probably have it in your stash too, it was just too darn cute to skip! But in case you did, it is currently on the clearance rack for a steal ;) The sentiment is something I typed up on MDS and printed out. Sometimes you just gotta do that to get the phrase you want. With MDS, it is easy to get the right size with no trial and error. When I printed it out, I thought I messed up because it looked so big on the sheet of card stock. Then I cut the strips out, and they were just the size I was looking for! The sentiment continues inside. I can see sending this to my nieces and nephews, they would love to play in the mud with me. Although, we will have to wait a few months to FIND any mud to play in here, lol! I am hoping for a little in April....but more likely it will be mid to late May. Well, that's it for me folks, time to go visit Debra's blog and see what she has in store for us! Supplies for Raindrops Card and Tag: InLinkz.com Supplies for Rainbows and Mud Card: InLinkz.com
Just Add Ink 173 At Just Add Ink this week, the criteria is 'Just Add Water.' The first stamp that came to my mind was Bootiful Occasions - with the gumboots. I love pretty gumboots and have a pair at our front door that I wear when visiting my husband at his shed! "When the rain is done, out comes the sun!" How I made my pretty gumboots: I stamp the first boot directly to the card, a bit off centre because I want to add the other boot on top. Clean the stamp and use a marker and only draw the outline of the boot (not the clouds) and stamp that onto Designer Paper. I then carefully cut out the paper piece and glue onto stamped boot. Repeat for the second boot, however stamp it onto whisper white cardstock and not directly to the card, cut this out and place off centre over other boot. I also used my markers to add some shadow areas, so it didn't look too paper like and added extra dimension by applying crystal effects to each gumboot, which I don't think the photo is showing very well. One of my new favourite papers from the 2014 Catalogue is Gingham Garden. It's just so me! Stamp Set: Bootiful Occasions (pg24) Accessories: Crystal Effects (pg 174) Designer Series Paper: Gingham Garden (pg153) Colour Combination: Whisper White ; Coastal Cabana ; So Saffron ; Daffodil Delight ; Melon Mambo Thanks for stopping by, Lou X

Morning, Well we've had some hot days here...the temperature is a good 10 degrees cooler than most of last summer but it still seems awful hot. This card I'm sending to my Goddaughter for her birthday. Hard to believe she just turned 20! I went to the post office yesterday to mail out the package only to discover the package was one ounce over four pounds. When sending to Canada that makes a big difference. About 20 dollar difference. Brought the package back home to repack. It will be cheaper to take out something that's not breakable and put it into a padded envelope to send separately. So that is one my list of to do today as well as heading to Carter's....Xavier needs some firemen PJ's and they are on sale plus it's double point day.Wonder what other deals I'll find there..... This card is made exclusively with Stampin' Up products. I really love the boot with the gems. That's all I've got for today....Have a GOOD one! Yvonne

Hi everyone! Squeaking in a second card today because this sketch from the Paper Craft Crew is almost up: The Kraft Journal this week has a “rain” theme, and The Catered Crop is “think green”…..so I made green Wellies: I stamped my boots from Bootiful Occasions in Basic Brown and used a blender pen and Wild Wasabi ink to color them in: A few faux buttons and a little PTI sentiment banner, and this little card will be on its way to someone with a spring birthday!! Thanks for poppin’ in! And since it is just sprinkling outside, this is a perfect card for my day! Cassidy got out some pots and pans (and a bucket!!) and was making “stew” for her doll and Lambie: “Be sure to eat it all!” Enjoy your day!
