"Kensington" has a thin green band with gold. This was produced between 1987 - 1990 and is discontinued. The Star China company was founded in 1897 as a partnership between Herbert Aynsley (great-grandson of the founder of Aynsley China) and Hugh Irving, trading until 1919, and using Paragon as a trade name from about 1900. In 1919, after Aynsley's retirement the company name was changed to Paragon China Company Limited. No chips or cracks. Plate: 8" / Boat: 7 1/4" spout to handle.
The elegant 55 cl Blue Fluted Mega Sauce Boat is a beautiful addition to any table setting. The magnified, hand painted elements provide a contemporary yet classic style. Do not let the name of the bowl limit its use - be bold and experiment with using it for other servings on the table as well. Blue Fluted Mega is comfortingly familiar yet surprisingly refreshing. Born from a bold reinterpretation of the iconic pattern of Blue Fluted Plain, Blue Fluted Mega captivates with graphic and magnified sections of the original mussel painted pattern. Since its creation in 2000, Blue Fluted Mega has grown to become a true, new classic in Danish design. The eye-catching collection is beautiful on its own or in combination with the Limited Edition collection Mega Rose or other Royal Copenhagen dinner service.
This is a beautiful gravy boat with an attached plate from Edwin M. Knowles & Co, featuring two handles and two spouts. The white ground has bands of flowers in blue, pink and purple with green leaves and brown stems. It has gold trip on edges on the gravy boat, under plate and both handles. No cracks or chips, but it does have crazing in most areas. The bottom is marked with “Vitreous. Edwin M. Knowles China Co. 15-2-2.” Pattern names did not appear on dishes until the late 1940s, but earlier wares usually have a pattern number on the bottom. Make this darling gravy boat a staple of dinner time, or an addition to your vintage collection! This item measures 3” tall, 5.5” from spout to spout, and the under plate is 7” in diameter.
A boat name, like vanity license plates, can reveal much about the personality of boat owners, and how they use their boats. Someone who names their yacht Serenity, an all-time favorite over the years, or Happy Ours, is not likely to be using their boat to make a living, while a name like Bottom Line, implies a workboat. Choosing the right name can be a complicated as naming a child.
