group How cute is this? It turned out really well.. and we are making it in my Card Thinlit technique classes this week. Last night's group really enjoyed it and I have another group coming to make this one (and two other cards) today. I think its a great way to use the Circle Thinlits die, and the rest of the bits are simply made with punches. Hope you enjoy it too. Here are the cards open... If you would like to make this card (or any other) at your own workshop, Contact me and we can book a date!
Hello Popping in today to share a few finished projects and some WIP./plans.
Sunny Studio Stamps: Team Player Sports Themed Birthday Card by Vanessa Menhorn
I have a new friend and recently discovered her blog. She started a "craft tag" that I thought was brilliant (especially this time of year when we are all looking for Christmas gift ideas). Anyway here are the rules 1. Post a project that you have been working on lately or some thing you want to start soon. 2. Include pictures, a few instructions on how to make your fun project/craft idea, or a link to where you found the idea. 3. Then tag a few people to do the same!! Okay ladies, here's mine. I actually made these awhile ago but I thought I would share this project because I gave some for Christmas gifts and they were a big hit. I got this idea from a scrapbook store in Utah. It's a fun way to organize your birthdays. It's a 12 month calendar and you just write the names of your fam and friends on their month/ day and fill the envelopes with cards to pull from when their special day comes. What you will need: *13-9x6 vertical white envelopes *13 sheets of 12x12 scrapbook paper (its fun if you can find paper to fit the season or holiday of that month) *ribbon to match paper * adhesive *Months and days printed on cardstock *ink/ chalk for edges (optional) *2 book rings INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cut out your scrapbook paper 5 1/2 in. by 8 1/2 in. and a piece to cover the flap (you may want to trace the flap and make a pattern to trace for all of your pages) Ink edges if desired and add ribbon with glue dots or staples. Glue the papers to 2 envelopes so that as you turn the pages the paper and month line up with the flap opening at the top (refer to the pics). 2. Cut out Months and glue to flap. I used a pop-up glue dot on the first letter of the month to add more dimension. 3. Cut out dates, ink, add any ribbon, and glue to paper, 4. Hole punch the bottom of envelopes (you might want to finish all of the months first and put everything in place before you punch any holes, just to be sure that it flips correctly) and add book rings. TA-DA! That's it. It's the perfect project for those of you, like me, who have a bunch of scrapbook paper laying around gathering dust. I TAG : Melissa M., Melissa L., Adrienne, Traci, Heather D., Tiffany, Lacey and anyone else that feels like being creative! It can be something you've done in the past or would like to do so don't stress out if you don't have something you are working on right now. Can't wait to see your projects.

My co-worker ordered a card from me for her sister's 18th birthday. Apparently, she's a huge Batman fan, so she found an idea on Pinterest asked me to recreate it. She wanted me to merge two cards. Here's the inspiration... via Pinterest via Pinterest And here's what I came up with... I created this on my Silhouette. (Sorry for the bad lighting...I finished late at night!) I also was lazy and didn't set up my photo tent so please ignore my messy desk! My co-worker told me what she wanted it to say, but I designed the rest. To create the cityscape, I found an image on Google and traced it in my Silhouette. I added the windows, made a compound path and cut it in black. Then, I removed the windows and cut a yellow layer to put behind it. For the words, I designed them in Silhouette as well and used the print and cut feature. The font is KG Beneath Your Beautiful. The Bat Signal is attached with an Action Wobble. You can purchase these on Amazon HERE. I love Action Wobbles! I think they make whimsical cards so much better. Here's a side view. And get ready for it.... The Action Wobble in action! One more. I was quite impressed with my speedy photography skills to catch this. Wow. Love these little springs! Here's the inside of the card. Again, I found the image online and traced it in Silhouette Studio. She texted me after I'd already made the card and asked for a gift card holder to be added. Nothing fancy, but I put this inside. If you ever need a card for a super hero in your life, go ahead - use this layout! It's easy and fun! Hugs, Cheryl

I had my son draw on paper each of the letters to form the word HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I photographed these letters, then digitised them in Adobe Illustrator by using the live-trace function. This enabled me to create large, crispy text. I printed each letter on an a4 piece of photo paper and then got him standing infront of my light to photograph him with each different letter. I then printed out these photos I took of him holding the letters on 6x4" paper and then hung them in the kitchen on our 'display line' (which is a shower curtain rail from ikea)
Look what one of my downline, Kari, made at her class last weekend!!! She does amazing work. Isn't it just adorable?! She says she found this idea on Pinterest. He's just perfect. And the way the eyes are each on a different layer on the card is kind of sneaky looking isn't it? Too cool. I believe she used these circle punches with the Circle Thinlits dies: 2 1/2" circle for the left white eye, 3/4" for nose and black...
