The Phi Phi Islands have been on my travel list for a long time! To be able to experience them in person was amazing. With the beautiful landscape of cliffs, coves, and caves, Phi Phi Island is a must see unique experience. Have you ever been to a place where the water was insanely turquoise, the fish vibrant and vibes just right? If not then you will want to learn how to visit the Phi Phi Islands and not break the bank!Where To StayThere are two islands Phi Phi Lee and Phi Phi Don. The town and island that people stay are on Phi Phi Don. I stayed at Phupha Resort which I found on Airbnb. They have amazing views of the cove and surrounding hills. However, they only have fan rooms which mean no air conditioning. I would recommend staying a little closer to town, get a place with air conditioning, and walk up to the view for some great photos.Airbnb is a great resource to find hotels, apartment, and condos all for a lower cost. Hotels can be one of the biggest expenses especially in a place that is loved by tourists. Trust me it's one of my favorite ways to travel on a budget!What To DoThere are so many different 'excursions' to explore around the island. From full day, half day, snorkeling, kayaking, and more! The islands might be small but there is plenty to do and explore. You won't want to miss out on any of the water activities because they are one of a kind experiences! SnorkelingSnorkel off of Phi Phi Lee. You can't go into Maya Bay which is from the movie. The government won't let anyone in the bay because the coral is too small and they are making people wait a year to be able to swim and snorkel there again. Boats can come up to the cove and take pictures but you just can't get in the water or beach there yet.Just because you can't swim there doesn't mean you're missing out though. I had THE BEST snorkeling experience in the cove across from Maya Bay. The fish are so colorful and beautiful! Not to mention that they have no problem swimming right up to you. I stopped to float at the top of the water and the fish just surrounded me like and even swam through my life jacket! It was an amazing and memorable experience!!Pileh LagoonMajority of tours will take you here but if you just want to see the lagoon you can get a water taxi. Trust me it's worth the trip! Crystal clear waters and surrounding cliffs make it a memorable swim in the lagoon. My tour parked here for about 45 minutes and could swim, jump off the boat, eat the provided lunch, and enjoy the view.Monkey BeachTake a taxi or tour that includes Monkey Beach. You won't touch the monkeys and you don't want to because they tend to be aggressive. Just observe them hanging on vines, trees, and climbing the rocks. A nice way to see them without having to interact with them and have your belongings taken. They like to grab anything lose and take it for themselves.CostIt depends on what you want to spend but staying and exploring the Phi Phi Islands weren't as expensive as I thought it would be. Taxi and Ferry from Phuket was 400 Baht, Airbnb $42 USD for 3 days/2nights, Half day snorkel and swim trip for 400 Baht (the cheapest we found, some wanted 600), Food was about 80-120 Baht per meal with is 2-4 Us dollars, and the Ferry to Krabi was 200Baht.I 100% recommend staying and exploring the Phi Phi Islands and not just doing a day trip. The Vatican isn't actually a part of Rome, it's a city-state within the city. The Vatican is only 109 acres and there is a wall dividing it from Rome. Within its walls, there are ancient Roman sculptures, paintings, art collections, St. Peter's Basilica and Sistine Chapel which is famous for Michelangelo's masterpiece of a ceiling. To get into St. Peter's Square there will be a security checkpoint and you can make your way to the basilica, museum, or Sistine Chapel. For some historical and religious reference, Vatican City is home to the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.St. Peter's remains are housed underneath the main altar in the center of the church and everything else was built around him. The shape of the church and square is the shape of a keyhole. In the Bible Jesus gave Peter the keys to heaven making the church a key, symbolizing the way to Christ in Heaven.Tours Of Vatican City GuideIf you are a history buff or Catholic and want a detailed tour I would recommend arranging a group travel guide or audio tour. This will give you the most information and let you walk through the space with a guide to answer any questions. If you are not interested in a tour, the cheaper option is to wander around the basilica and or buy a ticket to experience the museum and chapel on your own. The Vatican has so much to explore and I have visited many times and I still haven't experienced everything. It can be overwhelming that's why I recommend a guide to help target what to focus on and take you through the space stress-free.Vatican MuseumThe Museum is quite large and contains sculptures, paintings, architecture, ancient baths, and other artifacts. There are several tour options available with/without a guide. It's so large that I have visited several times and still haven't fully seen everything. You almost have to pick a section! This is why you should give yourself plenty of time to go through my Vatican City Guide.Sistine ChapelFamous for the artwork on both the ceiling and The Last Judgement on the wall behind the altar. The Ceiling and Last Judgement were painted by Michaelangelo who is also known for his sculptures. It's a once and a lifetime view to check off of your bucket list! I've seen it twice and still find new details!Gardens and VillasI have not personally been on a tour of them because I wanted to explore the basilica, chapel, and museum. Paris has so much to see and do! The culture and architecture of the city are one of a kind. Sightseeing Paris can be done on a budget keeping your bank account happy and having an amazing experience. Most of the sights to see are low cost, free, and easy to get to. Below are the top ten places you should put on your list when sightseeing Paris aka the City of Light. Notre Dame*** Update: After the 2019 Fire in Notre Dame, the Cathedral is closed and won't be reopened for years until repairs are made and the building is structurally safe for visitors. *** Notre Dame is the main Cathedral of the Catholic Church in Paris. The gothic style architecture is beautiful and hi-lights the choir's voices during mass. If you are Catholic then you can attend regular Mass times. During Mass, the public is asked to be respectful of the service taking place.Other than its religious significance, Notre Dame is also a historical landmark in Paris. Beneath the church is the crypt which costs €6 and you can also climb up to the tower for €8,50.Apart from Notre Dame the other locations are still available to make the most out of your sightseeing Paris adventures. Eiffel TowerThe Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in Paris! There is a ticket price to get up to the three levels of the tower. The ticket price to the 2nd level is €16 and €25 to the top. The lines are usually a long wait because there is only so much space in each elevator. Below are some amazing views that can be seen from the second highest level of the Eiffel Tower. Arc de TriompheIt is free to walk around and marvel at the beautiful monument but there is a ticket price of €8 to go to the top of the Arc. You can see the Champs Elysees from the top and other parts of the city. For only eight euros it's worth it for the perspective shift. Champs ElyseesThis is a long stretch of expensive name brand shops. For example, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, etc. The street is right in front of the Arc de Triumph. It's great to stop and take pictures here for those IG posts. There are expensive restaurants here but if you have the budget for it spend on a traditional multi course Parisian meal. It's worth it!Palais GarnierThe Palais Garnier or Paris Opera House used to have performances in Opera, Theater, and Ballet. Now it is the home to the Paris Opera Ballet Company. There is a rich history of the arts in all three forms. Inside there is a museum that houses original ballet costumes, sets, scores from Mozart and Tchaikovsky, famous operas, and so many more! Degas famous 'The Rehearsals' piece was featured in the Opera House Museum.Needless to say, this is one of if not my favorite sight to see in Paris with my dance background and love of history. Louvre The Louvre is home to some of the worlds most famous artwork and cherished relics. The museum is very large and has many dedicated sections to break it up into categories. There are thousands of paintings, sculptures, relics from Egypt, etc. Tickets are €15. Free admission to the museum includes: under 18 years old, Fridays @6pm for those 26 and under, Bastille Day, from October to March every first Sunday of the month. Musée de l'Orangerie The museum houses Claude Monet's famous Water Lilies and the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collection . Ticket price is €9 except for every first Sunday of the Month admission is free. Also people under the age of 18 have free admission. If you don't want to purchase individual tickets for each museum there is a pass available for majority of the museums in Paris under one ticket! You can pick and choose which one's to go see and cut costs a little. Musée d'Orsay The museum was constructed from a train station. There you can find pieces from Picasso, Renoir, Degas, etc. Ticket price is €12 except on every first Sunday of the month admission is free. Those under 18 are also free to enter the museum without a ticket purchase. Being a dancer myself this was one I was excited to visit because of the Degas ballerina collections he painted. Sacré-CœurAlso known as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. It's a Catholic church and small basilica. It is famous for the white architecture in contrast to the gothic style architecture of Notre Dame. All churches are free to enter but may have a donation box set up for people passing through. PantheonThe Pantheon looks out over all of Paris and has a monument to the French Revolution and infamous French nationals are buried there. It's free to enter and wander around the monument. The Nusa Islands (Lembongan, Penida, and Ceningan)are a small cluster of islands in Indonesia right next to Bali. If there are places you want to see on each island don't worry it's pretty easy to get from place to place. Either with a tour, scooters, or taxi. My backpackers guide to sightseeing Nusa Lembongan is all about traveling on a budget and easy travel hacks to seeing everything.How To Get ThereThe docks in Sanur will have several options available to get you to Lembongan and Penida. Most will try and get you to go with their round trip package. I'm not going to lie the one I found had a package round trip boat, hotel drop off/pick up on the Nusa islands, and drop off at your new hotel in Bali on the main island. That was worth it for $36. It would have cost a lot more if it was all separate and tried to haggle with taxis.There are no ferry's that go to Nusa just fast boats. It's about a 30 min ride out and you can actually still see Bali from the coastline.Where To StayI stayed on Lembongan in Kawan's Inn which was really nice, had it's own private pool, and cafe for breakfast. I found it on Airbnb and just make sure that you google the actual address because if you click the address in the Airbnb map it's not accurate. Most Airbnb locations are super cheap for only $15-25/night which is what I looked at. My private pool room was only $25 a night and I split that with a friend.It truly doesn't matter which island you stay on because it's easy to get around to all three. There is a bridge that connects Lembongan to Ceningan. The only one that you have to get to by boat is Penida.What To DoThe Best Beaches for sightseeing Nusa Lembongan Dream Beach Sand Bay Beach Devil's Tear Blue Lagoon Crystal Bay Kelingking Beach.Devil's Tear isn't a beach but more a photo opportunity because of the dramatic waves that crash in and out of the cove. Kelingking Beach is where you see all of those Instagram pictures of the dinosaur shaped rock and girls in boho dresses walking down the stairs. Snorkel or Dive with Manta Rays! I was so excited to take this tour. I found a 3 hour snorkel tour of 4 different spots ($10) and you had the chance to swim with Manta Rays. Well there is a season for the Manta Rays folks and they told us that was not the time only after getting on the boat. If you want to swim with these gentle giants the season is November to April. How To Get AroundThe best way to get around to go sightseeing around Nusa Lembongan and the other islands is by motorbike. EVERYONE will have rental options so don't worry. It's a lot cheaper than tuk tuk's. However, if you don't have any experience driving a motorbike....don't rent one or practice before your trip. So many people rent motorbikes, don't know how to drive them, get in recks, and then have to pay for damages, etc.Going over the yellow bridge from Lembongan to Ceningan is pretty tight and I still get nervous just writing about it. So MUCH ANXIETY with that bridge and if you try and drive a motorbike over it you'll see why! hahaIf you have the time to take a few days away from Bali and visit the Nusa Islands it's worth the trip. Some of the BEST diving/snorkeling experiences I had were off of this collection of islands. The coral and fish are so incredibly vibrant! Probably my favorite part about sightseeing Nusa Lembongan.The fish also have no issue getting up and close with you so it's perfect for those GoPro videos! I take mine everywhere and can film under da sea. If you need a recommendation for cameras my favorite is the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Paris has so much to see and do! The culture and architecture of the city are one of a kind. Sightseeing Paris can be done on a budget keeping your bank account happy and having an amazing experience. Most of the sights to see are low cost, free, and easy to get to. Below are the top ten places you should put on your list when sightseeing Paris aka the City of Light. Notre Dame*** Update: After the 2019 Fire in Notre Dame, the Cathedral is closed and won't be reopened for years until repairs are made and the building is structurally safe for visitors. *** Notre Dame is the main Cathedral of the Catholic Church in Paris. The gothic style architecture is beautiful and hi-lights the choir's voices during mass. If you are Catholic then you can attend regular Mass times. During Mass, the public is asked to be respectful of the service taking place.Other than its religious significance, Notre Dame is also a historical landmark in Paris. Beneath the church is the crypt which costs €6 and you can also climb up to the tower for €8,50.Apart from Notre Dame the other locations are still available to make the most out of your sightseeing Paris adventures. Eiffel TowerThe Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in Paris! There is a ticket price to get up to the three levels of the tower. The ticket price to the 2nd level is €16 and €25 to the top. The lines are usually a long wait because there is only so much space in each elevator. Below are some amazing views that can be seen from the second highest level of the Eiffel Tower. Arc de TriompheIt is free to walk around and marvel at the beautiful monument but there is a ticket price of €8 to go to the top of the Arc. You can see the Champs Elysees from the top and other parts of the city. For only eight euros it's worth it for the perspective shift. Champs ElyseesThis is a long stretch of expensive name brand shops. For example, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, etc. The street is right in front of the Arc de Triumph. It's great to stop and take pictures here for those IG posts. There are expensive restaurants here but if you have the budget for it spend on a traditional multi course Parisian meal. It's worth it!Palais GarnierThe Palais Garnier or Paris Opera House used to have performances in Opera, Theater, and Ballet. Now it is the home to the Paris Opera Ballet Company. There is a rich history of the arts in all three forms. Inside there is a museum that houses original ballet costumes, sets, scores from Mozart and Tchaikovsky, famous operas, and so many more! Degas famous 'The Rehearsals' piece was featured in the Opera House Museum.Needless to say, this is one of if not my favorite sight to see in Paris with my dance background and love of history. Louvre The Louvre is home to some of the worlds most famous artwork and cherished relics. The museum is very large and has many dedicated sections to break it up into categories. There are thousands of paintings, sculptures, relics from Egypt, etc. Tickets are €15. Free admission to the museum includes: under 18 years old, Fridays @6pm for those 26 and under, Bastille Day, from October to March every first Sunday of the month. Musée de l'Orangerie The museum houses Claude Monet's famous Water Lilies and the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collection . Ticket price is €9 except for every first Sunday of the Month admission is free. Also people under the age of 18 have free admission. If you don't want to purchase individual tickets for each museum there is a pass available for majority of the museums in Paris under one ticket! You can pick and choose which one's to go see and cut costs a little. Musée d'Orsay The museum was constructed from a train station. There you can find pieces from Picasso, Renoir, Degas, etc. Ticket price is €12 except on every first Sunday of the month admission is free. Those under 18 are also free to enter the museum without a ticket purchase. Being a dancer myself this was one I was excited to visit because of the Degas ballerina collections he painted. Sacré-CœurAlso known as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris. It's a Catholic church and small basilica. It is famous for the white architecture in contrast to the gothic style architecture of Notre Dame. All churches are free to enter but may have a donation box set up for people passing through. PantheonThe Pantheon looks out over all of Paris and has a monument to the French Revolution and infamous French nationals are buried there. It's free to enter and wander around the monument. The Phi Phi Islands have been on my travel list for a long time! To be able to experience them in person was amazing. With the beautiful landscape of cliffs, coves, and caves, Phi Phi Island is a must see unique experience. Have you ever been to a place where the water was insanely turquoise, the fish vibrant and vibes just right? If not then you will want to learn how to visit the Phi Phi Islands and not break the bank!Where To StayThere are two islands Phi Phi Lee and Phi Phi Don. The town and island that people stay are on Phi Phi Don. I stayed at Phupha Resort which I found on Airbnb. They have amazing views of the cove and surrounding hills. However, they only have fan rooms which mean no air conditioning. I would recommend staying a little closer to town, get a place with air conditioning, and walk up to the view for some great photos.Airbnb is a great resource to find hotels, apartment, and condos all for a lower cost. Hotels can be one of the biggest expenses especially in a place that is loved by tourists. Trust me it's one of my favorite ways to travel on a budget!What To DoThere are so many different 'excursions' to explore around the island. From full day, half day, snorkeling, kayaking, and more! The islands might be small but there is plenty to do and explore. You won't want to miss out on any of the water activities because they are one of a kind experiences! SnorkelingSnorkel off of Phi Phi Lee. You can't go into Maya Bay which is from the movie. The government won't let anyone in the bay because the coral is too small and they are making people wait a year to be able to swim and snorkel there again. Boats can come up to the cove and take pictures but you just can't get in the water or beach there yet.Just because you can't swim there doesn't mean you're missing out though. I had THE BEST snorkeling experience in the cove across from Maya Bay. The fish are so colorful and beautiful! Not to mention that they have no problem swimming right up to you. I stopped to float at the top of the water and the fish just surrounded me like and even swam through my life jacket! It was an amazing and memorable experience!!Pileh LagoonMajority of tours will take you here but if you just want to see the lagoon you can get a water taxi. Trust me it's worth the trip! Crystal clear waters and surrounding cliffs make it a memorable swim in the lagoon. My tour parked here for about 45 minutes and could swim, jump off the boat, eat the provided lunch, and enjoy the view.Monkey BeachTake a taxi or tour that includes Monkey Beach. You won't touch the monkeys and you don't want to because they tend to be aggressive. Just observe them hanging on vines, trees, and climbing the rocks. A nice way to see them without having to interact with them and have your belongings taken. They like to grab anything lose and take it for themselves.CostIt depends on what you want to spend but staying and exploring the Phi Phi Islands weren't as expensive as I thought it would be. Taxi and Ferry from Phuket was 400 Baht, Airbnb $42 USD for 3 days/2nights, Half day snorkel and swim trip for 400 Baht (the cheapest we found, some wanted 600), Food was about 80-120 Baht per meal with is 2-4 Us dollars, and the Ferry to Krabi was 200Baht.I 100% recommend staying and exploring the Phi Phi Islands and not just doing a day trip. It's worth staying for at least two days. The views alone are a reason to stay! If you have any questions or comments feel free to comment below! Seattle has plenty to offer and it's an easy city to navigate. I went to Seattle on a solo trip and had a blast! I feltcompletely safe and the way the city is set up it was easy to explore on my own. Check out the list of possibilities below! Pike Place MarketPike Place Market is one of Seattle's main attractions. Home to the original Starbucks, famous fish market, flowers, specialty shops, restaurants, etc. One of my favorite shops is a specialty bread kiosk that has gluten-free cookies! The market is a central part of the city and you can walk to most places on the rest of this list from here. Space NeedleTake an elevator ride to the top of the Needle and see Seattle from the sky top. There are two levels which has recently been updated to give you the maximum view of the city and surroundings. The ride tit he top is $27-37. Kerry ParkKerry Park is located in the Queen Ann neighborhood and is known for its beautiful views of the city and sound. You can take a bus, uber, or taxi to this spot if you haven't rented a car. Fremont & Fremont TrollOne if Seattle's most artistic and thriving areas. It's where most of the 'starving artists' live and is home to the Freemont Troll. The troll is an art installation that has made Fremont an attraction to visitors. Pier & Ferry BoatsThe Pier has many restaurants and activities to choose from. The Ferris Wheel is a fun activity to be able to see the city from above and take some postcard photos.Take a Ferry to any of the neighboring cities right outside Seattle. My favorite was Bainbridge. They have little shops and restaurants to dine at. Very cute and quaint town and the antique bookstore there was lovely. Plus who doesn't want to take a ferry like in Grey's Anatomy? Mt. RainierTake a car or tour to Mt. Rainier. Mt. Rainier National Park is beautiful and has a variety of landscapes. The rainforest, hiking trails, large redwood trees, Paradise(towards the top of the Volcano), yes it's an active volcano, and many waterfalls to enjoy! Depending on the season it can take anywhere from 2-3hrs to get to Rainier. Transportation SystemI love Seattle's Mass Transit system! It's so easy to navigate and cheap. The Link Light Rail from the airport to the city center is a MUCH cheaper option but takes slightly longer. You can buy a one-way pass at the platform. If you take a taxi or uber from the airport it's about $40.Busses: Pay exact change and get a ticket when you enter the bus. That ticket has a time on it. You can ride the bus as many times as you need to until that time is up. Most days I spent around $3 total on transportation. Traveling to Bangkok? Don't miss the TOP 5 Sights to See in the city! From Temples, Palaces, and shopping you will get a taste of Thailand with a busy city feel. It's definitely a busier city than most but you'll get the hang of it! It's easy to get to all of the sights by walking or Taxi/Tuk Tuk Drivers. If you can I would recommend staying close to the action. I stayed at Bangkok Bed and Bike which was in walking distance to anything and everything I wanted to see. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants and shops around to explore. Scroll down to see what you should explore in Bangkok! Wat Pho Wat Pho is a must see! The architecture is beautiful and intricate which displays the traditional Thai culture. There is a fee of 100 Baht to enter the Temple and you should cover knees and shoulders (no backless shirts). They will stop you from entering if you don't abide by the dress code. You can buy cheap pants or wrap to tie around your waist or shoulders.Grand Palace The Grand Palace is just that GRAND! If you are in the mood to spend 500 Baht then have at it. This was the most expensive entrance fee compared to the temples. I recommend getting there early because there will be crowds of people. I arrived at 10:30 which is a good time but the Royal Family was leaving so security held everyone back which created a backup.Wat Arun Also known as the Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun is smaller but still beautiful. The color scheme is more white carved buildings with colorful accents. Worth the trip and it's only 50 Baht to get into the Wat! Depending on where you are staying if it's on the other side of the river you will have to take a ferry across. Not too expensive but there are several Ferry Terminals that connect to docks in front of Wat Arun.I recommend taking the Ferry that is directly across. To get to the Terminal its in the 'Old Village' behind (in between) the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. It looks like an older part of the city and stands out in contrast to the surrounding buildings. Go into up the stairs into the shops and the ferry is at the end. Only 4 BHT! Khaosan Road Khaosan Road is one of the most popular shopping streets in Bangkok. With street vendors for shopping and food, the sky is the limit. There are cheap souvenirs to snag while in the city and not to mention it's great to see a variety of culture and community among vendors and shoppers. I had some great (Vegan +Gluten Free) Pad Thai on Khao San Road! There is food everywhere! River Boat CruiseYou can take a riverboat cruise from The Prachan Cross River Ferry Pier. Located near the Grand Palace it's an easy walk after walking around the palace and then see Wat Arun from the Chao Phraya River. The Wat has some of the best views at sunset. There are plenty of tours from each pier and you can even choose to just take a Ferry from Tia Tien straight across for the same photo shots and it's only 4 Baht!With so much to do and see in Bangkok, you don't want to miss my Top 5! Hostel World makes it really easy not to just find hostels but to give you all the information you need to know about a place to make your decision. They have reviews, rating, photos, what the facility provides, and activities they might organize. This is all very important to know because in some countries wifi isn't always provided, air conditioning, etc. So don't just check the price, make sure they have all the amenities you want. Solo Travel BluesSolo travel can be seen as a lonely venture and it's true sometimes you can feel isolated and alone. But I find that most of the time it can be a very social experience to travel solo. In a hostel especially you have the ability to connect to people from all over the world. Now this isn't always the case which is why I say most of the time. I recently stayed in a hostel that was a very weird vibe, lots of couples, and all apparently seemed like they knew each other. It was a little bit disappointing because they didn't seem very friendly or welcoming. But that's not the norm. Doing Activities Alone Doing activities by yourself might also seem isolating, not safe, or daunting to some. Hostels can be a great place to stay because a lot of them have tours they provide. That means you won't be alone hiking in the jungle to a waterfall you'll have others with you and a guide. Some hostels provide this in the price and is free of charge. However, most of them do cost extra. Traveling On A BudgetStaying in hostels as you travel the globe is one of the cheapest ways to cut costs on hotels. As a millennial traveling on a budget hotels can be expensive and a huge chunk out of your bank account. Some countries you can stay in a hostel for as little as $8 USD a night. You don't really know anyone you're rooming with and don't want to get your stuff stollen. Locks are a great way to make sure people stay out of your bags. Your room might also have a locker with a key or your locks will work just fine. As a female solo traveler, I will stay in the female dorms instead of mixed but that's just comfort level. If you want to go on vacation but not have the hassle of booking every single detail like transportation, food, lodging, then a cruise is your calling! I like both free/go with the flow travel and having a scheduled cruise. I've been on Royal Caribbean for all of my cruises and I love them! They have a reward system that makes it cheaper with deals, room credits, etc.The Mediterranean Cruise I went on in 2012 started in Rome and then sailed to Genoa, Cannes, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, and back. I would recommend flying to your port of call a few days early to explore the city before getting on the cruise. We had three days in Rome to sightsee before taking off.Genoa, ItalyFor my excursion to Genoa, I decided to actually take a 'Three City Tour' to Rapallo, Santa Margherita, and Portofino. This is still apart of the Metropolitan city of Genoa and has colorful buildings/beautiful seaside views!We took a bus from the ship to Rapallo where we walked around town, explored the local market, and then headed to Santa Margherita. There we stopped at a cafe on the beach and enjoyed a complimentary breakfast and coffee. In order to get to Portofino, there is a ferry available that drops you off to explore the small town. There are expensive shops, nice cafes and restaurants, and short walks to explore Portofino.Cannes, FranceCannes is most famous for the Cannes Film Festival and is apart of the French Rivera. My excursion here consisted of exploring the city, driving on a bus up the coast for some lunch/beautiful views, shopping, and getting to chill on the beach for a little bit.*Travel Tip: these tour guides don't play! If they tell you to be at the bus at a certain time or they will leave you.....THEY MEAN IT! They left three people at the top of the hill where we had lunch.Barcelona, SpainBarcelona is such a beautiful city and even some of their buildings are art pieces! We toured the city on a bus that took us to various churches including the Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia is one of Barcelona's most famous sights! It is a Catholic Church that has been under development for 131 years and still isn't fully complete. The artistry and commitment definitely pays off because it's amazing inside/out and one of a kind!On our tour we were able to go to a hilltop that overlooked the city in order to take the picture above. It's a beautiful city and a great one to explore if you have more time.Palma de MallorcaPalma was our beach day excursion! We took a bus to the beach where you could layout, enjoy the water, get a bite to eat, shop, etc. This was a short excursion but worth it!After we got back to the ship our guide told us about this beach in walking distance and we could just walk back to the port before the cruise departs. Just to give you a heads up it was a nude beach haha. Majority of the beach goers were in the nude. There were small rocks instead of sand so I would wear shoes when walking. The water here actually felt more clean than the excursions beach and we were able to spend a good amount of time here.ValenciaValencia's excursion was a city tour that included their famous flower and central market, walking tour, and set location for Tomorrowland.What To Do OnboardIn your room, you will find a little guide of things to do on board with times, locations, inside info, etc. If you are a Crown and Anchor member you can get discounts and invites to more events during your stay. For members the more cruises you go on and rack up the points, the more you get back in discounts and future trips, etc. Trust me there is plenty to do on the cruise ship with different pools, hot tubs, restaurants, bars, events, shows, ice rink, casino, parades, shopping, spa, wellness center, and the list goes on!Drink PackagesIf you don't plan on drinking that much then I wouldn't recommend a package. If you are wanting to drink a lot on board and save money then the drink packages are worth it! Drinks average around $7-12 which can add up. The drink packages save a little especially because they aren't that strong.*You also have the option to bring your own alcohol but you have to pay a fee to bring it onboard. This is also a cheaper option because the cost of the bottle plus fee is less than the drink packages.SpaThe prices are a little high versus getting your nails done or a message on land. If you want to spend the money then they have some great services and it is a relaxing environment.FoodI was very surprised by the wide variety of restaurants and dining options available. I am gluten-free and they have bread, pasta, and modifications available if you ask for it. For dinner, you have a few options: a fancy dining room, Cafe, or one of their restaurants (cost is extra).  If you want an assigned table in the dining room you can select one of the two-time options and there is set attire for each night which they tell you ahead of time. Lunch options: Windjammer Cafe that is a buffet or there is a smaller 24hr cafe that has more snack food available.I hope this helps in planning your travels! It can be daunting to travel to another country let alone continent. I love traveling in Europe and it's actually really easy to get around. The most expensive item will be your plane ticket getting there. After you are over the pond it's a breeze! There are several modes of transportation: Train, Flying, and Eurostar.TrainsI love taking the train around Europe! For one, they are cheap and you can see so much more of Europe that way. It might take a little bit longer to go from one place to the next but it's worth it! I took trains in France, Italy, Germany, and Austria. They were all easy to purchase a ticket and reasonably priced. I think the most I spent on a train ticket was â¬80 and that was from Rome to Florence round trip. Usually, they cost about â¬10-25 per ticket and if you plan on city-hopping this is the easiest route. There is plenty of space for luggage, the ride is smooth, leg room, you can get up and walk around, see views of the countryside, etc. My advice is to keep an eye on ticket prices online, but purchase them at the station. Prices don't vary too much, but if you are trying to stay at a certain number for the budget I would keep track. Make sure to check the date and time of your departure and that you're early enough to get a good spot. Most trains aren't assigned seating so if you want a spot near your luggage you want enough time to pick your seat.Flights Flights are actually pretty cheap once you land in Europe. I took a flight from Rome to Vienna for â¬36. Yes that's right â¬36!!! I was SHOCKED and convinced that there was some sort of scam. Every website I looked at they were like this! I used Vueling Airlines to fly to Vienna and IT WAS AMAZING! Not only was the flight cheap, but I could check two bags for free, have a carry-on, there was in-flight music, it was quiet, smooth, and I didn't have any trouble getting my bags afterward.Take your time booking a flight and read reviews of other airlines because even though it might be cheap you can have a mix of reviews. Check out Vueling as a great cost saving option.EurostarThis is a VERY FAST train that runs from Paris to London through the Chunnel. It isn't cheap but isn't much different from a flight in terms of price. My ticket was â¬70 one way from Paris to London. The trip is roughly 2 hr and 15 min.You have a cozy seat, space to put your luggage, smooth and quick ride to either destination. For the majority of the train ride, you are going through a tunnel and might experience pressure build up in your ears which is common.Going through the tunnel you don't have much to look at so I would advise bringing something to read, music, downloaded movie or show, etc. They have free Wi-Fi onboard and a cafe if you would like to have something to eat. If you aren't worried about time and money and feel comfortable driving in Europe, then rent a vehicle! Who wouldn't want to road trip in Europe?? Time is usually a big factor in this equation because it's not always the quickest route or cheapest. You need to factor in the price of the rental plus gas in your budget. Growing in popularity Koh Samui is becoming a hot spot for tourists! Depending on the season you can either expect a relaxing time or a sea of tourists. I went a month before peak season (November is peak) which was perfect! Plenty to see/do but without the insane amount of people. I don't know about you but I don't want to be stuck in traffic on an island I'd rather enjoy my time.Where To StayI stayed in Nathon Town on the Harbor Side of the island. It wasn't close to any of the beautiful beaches but it was a local area. That can have it's perks with cheaper shops and restaurants! If you want to be close to the action then stay in Bo Put, Chaweng Beach, or Lamai Beach. Bo Put and Chaweng are more touristy but have plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities to do.My Air Bnb in Nathon Town was great, the hosts were helpful and gave us lots of FREE water! Which if you've ever travelled in SEA you know how excited you get by free water haha. It's really about the little things when you're traveling. (Free water, kettle to boil your own, and extra towels)How To Get AroundDrive a motorbike around the island if you have experience. Big emphasis on driving experience!! The Police WILL pull you over if you don't know what you're doing and you need to wear a helmet otherwise you could get a fine of 500-1,000 Baht.Take a Taxi, Motorbike Taxi, or Tuk Tuk around the island. I do have to warn you transportation prices on the island are INSANE! Taxi's are the worst and wanted 1,500 Baht to go from Nathon Town to Chaweng Beach. Um NO Thanks! So if you can't drive yourself I'd advise taking a motorbike taxi they will still be expensive but your cheapest option.BeachesChaweng Beach was my favorite and it's huge so people can spread out! There are a ton of resorts that are on the beach and some are more strict that others about people being on their section but usually in between each resort there is a place for the public. Lamai Beach, Bo Put Beach, and Maenam Beach are also great options!There will be a lot of vendors trying to sell you something but that's all over Thailand really. They'll leave you alone and I didn't feel uncomfortable leaving my bag on the beach. It was mostly families and couples when I went alone. I felt safe on the island the entire time. Even going up in the mountains for extra sights my motor taxi wanted to show me haha. Sometimes if you get a good taxi they'll offer to take you to more locations no extra cost because they want you to use them the next day too.Waterfalls & ViewpointsLike I said my taxi was AWESOME! He took me to this local waterfall and viewpoint up in the mountains. Khun Si Waterfall is beautiful and you can actually climb down and swim at the bottom! Be careful because it's pretty slippery but worth it.I'm not sure what the name of the viewpoint he took me to is but it's on the way to the waterfall. You can see Koh Phangan from up there!Night MarketsI came across two different night markets. One local and the other more for tourists. The Chaweng Walking Street Market is more touristy and sit down restaurant style, pricier items, and not as authentic. My favorite was the night market in Nathon Town by the Pier. Local vendors, amazing food, community, and plenty of places to sit and people watch haha.Koh Samui had my favorite Thai beaches with the white sand and blue/clear water. I had a blast and had time to do all of this in just two days! Cost can vary if you want to spend on a resort, transportation, but food is cheap if you know where to look.
