Oil on panel, 6" x 6" I just got back from putting the final touches on my booth at the RI Home Show( #112). There's a whole section of the floor devoted to artists. I wasn't looking forward to all the work that goes into putting up a booth at a show like that, but there's so much energy in the air that it's kind of infectious. When people want to sell stuff, anything goes! There was even a huge flatbed truck with a free-form, fiberglass (?) in-ground swimming pool on it. For while there, galleries were requesting more "Beach" paintings and I couldn't seem to find them anywhere inside of me! I was on to other things just trying to renew my energy. I took a couple of ceramic classes. I decided to draw at night. I tried doing some abstracts. I was a teaching maniac all over the place. It was taking all I had. But for some reason, after teaching my Scottsdale workshop and being with such a great group of people, I was able to explore the beach again. And bigger too! I am going to take the class and we are going to walk right out on to the beach from our starting point of the Vanessa Rothe Gallery. I hope to show the students how I capture those "moving targets".
