Whewww! Check out those roots! Tip #1: Before highlighting your hair, make sure you’ve given yourself adequate root growth to work with. Highlighting/bleaching your hair is very damaging and drying and can quickly ruin your precious locks. Wait at least 4-6 weeks before highlighting your hair after a previous dye. Tip #2: Part your hair down the center. This will give a more even distribution of color throughout your hair. Tip #3: If using a cap, place the cap snugly on your head to prevent a gap between your roots and the plastic. If the cap is too loose, you won’t get dye adequately on your roots. Tip #4: Decide what area of your head you want your color to show. My preference: Face framing plus top of the crown only highlighting. Tip #5: Decide how blonde you want to be so you know where to pull the hair from. Most blonde: pull from every hole Lesser blonde: only circled holes Least blonde: every other or every third circle [my preference] Tip #6: Create your own holes if you need hair in a certain spot but there isn’t a marking or hole already. Tip #7: Run a comb through your hair to ensure there aren’t any loops or hair that is not pulled all the way through. Tip #8: Only put the bleach on the part of your hair that needs to be highlighted. This prevents your hair from being overly processed and keeps it much healthier! Good luck!
I am so excited about today’s tutorial because this Triple French Braid Double Waterfall braid is one of my absolute favorites. I know it looks super tricky but I promise you it is not as difficult as it looks. A few years ago, I featured this braid as an updo and wanted to revamp it into a new style that would be fresh and fun for the new year. Since half up mini buns are so trendy I thought this version would be perfect for updating your everyday mini bun. I hope you love it as much as I do! Be sure to share it with a friend who would love it too! Triple French Braid Double Waterfall Mini Bun Supplies: Rattail comb 2 Hair sectioning clips 6 Bobby pins 2 Clear elastic bands Triple French Braid Double Waterfall Mini Bun Instructions: Step 1 / Begin by dividing off the top section of hair from the hairline back to the crown. Clip down the hair on the left and right side to keep it separated. Step 2 / Pick up a small section of hair in the middle section and divide it into three sections. Step 3 / Begin a regular braid crossing the right strand over the middle and then the left strand over the middle. Step 4 / Now begin creating a waterfall braid on both sides by first dropping down the right strand and picking up a new section in its place, crossing it over the middle. Step 5 / Then drop down the left strand, picking up a new section of hair crossing it over the middle in place of the dropped piece. Step 6 / Continue the braid, creating waterfall sections on both sides and braiding the entire middle section back to the crown of the head. Step 7 / When the braid reaches the crown, create a few more stitches of a regular braid. Then criss cross two bobby pins over the end of the braid so it doesn’t unravel. Step 8 / Next create french braids on both sides of the middle braid so start by picking up a section of hair on the left side and dividing it into three sections. Step 9 / Begin a regular braid crossing the right strand over the middle and then the left. Step 10 / Then start incorporating the waterfall pieces into the braid without adding in any new hair to the bottom side of the braid. Step 11 / When the last waterfall piece is brought into the braid, braid the section a little further down and criss-cross two bobby pins over the end. Step 12 / Now create a second french braid incorporating the waterfall pieces into the braid and working upwards at a diagonal towards the end of the first, middle braid. Step 13 / When all three braids are done, wrap an elastic band around the ends and remove the bobby pins. Step 14 / Tie the ponytail into a mini bun by wrapping a second elastic band half way over the ponytail. Then twist the elastic band with the left hand and grip the bun with the same hand. Wrap the ends of the hair around the front of the bun with the left hand and wrap the elastic band once more over the bun. Step 15 / Pull on the edges to make the bun a little bigger and then combine the ends and loop them back towards the bun, tucking them into the elastic band.

Look what a Saturday night and a basket full of yarn produced!! Isn't he cute. He's a little mini pouch. I luv him!! And yes, I added an old key! I have finished up a huge scrapbooking project and just did not feel like crocheting with embroidery floss. I was feeling kind of weird just sitting in front of the t.v. with nothing to work on. Hubs even told me something was off. So I grabbed a basket of scraps and my box of buttons and keys and came up with this little guy. Hopefully this evening after supper I can work on another one. I have some Noro all picked out. I also made up a cute little owlie last night. I wish I had one more day to this weekend. I can't seem to get caught up. I'm off to finish up some house work and get a casserole started. Found the recipe on pinterest! I made it a couple weeks ago, and it was so good!! Makes for good leftovers. Bye for now! Happy crocheting!
Teton frame of sterling silver, turquoise and spots, what a perfect buckle for any occasion! I wear this everyday with a vintage leather spot or old coin belt. Each spot is hand formed and the stone is soldered on to a substantial sterling silver backing. Will fit up to1 1/2 or 1 3/4 inch belt width. They range between 3 inches tall and about 4 to 4.5 inches wide. The width of the stone or quality denotes the size and of course buckles may vary in prices due to the quality of stones used or sizes (seen at shows). I do my best to have these in stock. If I have to produce these custom for you, estimated delivery is 4- 6 weeks.

Coachella! I’ve never actually been but I hear it’s the happening place come Springtime! Edgy, bohemian hairstyles have been all the rage recently and needless to say I am completely obsessed. So of course I wanted to create a video that featured an assortment of styles that are a little more boss than your typical ‘do. I think you could definitely wear these as everyday hairstyles anyways but either way I hope you enjoy the tutorial! Hair Prep: Before beginning I curled all of my hair with the Nume Tapered Curling wand and applied a argan hair oil to the ends. I also used a few Luxy Hair extensions to help create fullness in the styles. Specifically, 1 triple clip weft and 2 double clip wefts for the half up, half down styles and 4 single clip wefts for the ponytail. 3 Coachella Inspired Hairstyles Supplies: Nume tapered curling wand – code SAVE50 Argan hair oil – my favorite! Step 6 / Repeat the previous steps with the hair on the right side, creating a dutch braid and back combing the ends. Step 4 / Continue the braid down the center of the back of the head until it reaches a few inches up from the hairline. Step 5 / Tie off the braid with a clear elastic band. Step 6 / Gently pull on the edges of the braid and the center to create volume within the braid so it looks more like a mohawk. Pull it a lot or a little depending on your personal preference. Step 7 / Gather the rest of the hair at the base of the braid and tie it off with a hair band. Step 8 / Take a small section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the hair band. Step 5 / Slide a bobby pin into the twist to secure it in place. Step 6 / Repeat the previous steps creating a second “V” section on the right side and twisting it towards the center of the head, securing it with a bobby pin. Step 7 / Pick up a 2-3″ horizontal section at the crown and gently back comb the hair to add some texture for the bun. Step 8 / Twist the section together and wrap it around itself to create a bun shape. Step 9 / Wrap the bun with an elastic to hold it in place. Step 10 / Pull on the edges and pin down sections with bobby pins until it looks the way you prefer. Step 11 / Set the style with hairspray and smooth down flyaways.
Popovers have been a Christmas morning tradition in my family for 30 years. I get up early to make the popovers, then wake the family to begin opening gifts. When the popovers are ready, I serve them with lots of butter and assorted jams. My father-in-law began the tradition. —Sue A. Jurack
