Easy to grow indoor plants
Introducing the New Proven Winners® leafjoy littles™! Available in irresistible 3.5-inch containers, leafjoy littles make it easier than ever to grow your love (and your collection!) of indoor plants. The Spice is Nice™ Peperomia is commonly referred to as a "baby rubber plant" although it's actually not related to the rubber plant we know as a Ficus. The foliage of this plant is glossy, spoon-shaped, fleshy, succulent-like leaves that are dark green with gorgeous deep red stems. Over time, you may find that the upright stems will develop a trailing habit, and the sprouting roots along the stem will cling well to surfaces, making them ideal for use in hanging baskets or on shelves to cascade over. Native to South America, these plants will thrive in a spot that is humid and provides bright light but not direct sun, however they are known to be forgiving and a great beginner's houseplant. 6-12 inches tall and 6-12 inches wide at maturity Prefers average to high humidity with temperatures between 60-85 F Requires bright to medium light, near windows, but no direct sun Maintains dark green, thick, succulent leaves with a supporting red stem and an upright to gracefully trailing habit Great for humid spaces, bathrooms, kitchens, sunporches, compact spaces, desks, shelves, hanging baskets, bright spaces, windowsills Trailing habit, drought tolerant, foliage interest Keep away from pets and children, toxic if ingested or consumed Care Information Temperature: For optimal performance, keep at 60-85°F (15-29°C). Light: Baby rubber plants prefer bright areas but direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, a well-lit windowsill or patio door, south, east or west-facing with indirect sun are good options. Humidity: They thrive in average to high humidity levels, so if not placed in a steamy bathroom, kitchen or laundry you may want to provide extra moisture. A pebble tray or frequent misting may help add humidity if needed, but a humidifier is a better option. Placement: Avoid cold drafts and direct airflow from heaters in the winter months as very dry air can cause damage. Water: Water when the top two to three inches of soil is dry, roughly every one to two weeks during the growing season, and less in the winter. Because these leaves are "succulent-like" and retain water it does have a bit of drought tolerance, but overall health is improved with a consistent watering schedule. Soil: Add some perlite and/or orchid bark to help fluff up the potting mix and provide better drainage. Growing: Feed once per month at half strength when plant is actively growing. Shipping 3.5 in. Potted Houseplants are 2-5 in. tall at shipment, varies by season and plant Must choose at least 4 leafjoy® littles™ *Disclaimer - Protect furniture when watering. Not for human or animal consumption, harmful to pets*
