*Please read CAREFULLY before purchasing: As rigor of standardized testing increases, our students are needing to write text-based constructive responses by citing evidence from text. This, of course, is a very complicated skill for students with disabilities, especially those who lack skills in organizing their thoughts in writing. Therefore, I created this supplemental resource that goes along with the RACE strategy, but breaks it all down so that students can chunk the steps and learn to be successful. In Georgia, we replaced the CRCT with the Milestones End-of-Grade assessment this year. Whatever testing your state does, chances are your students will also need to be tested on this skill. This resource has "SuperHero" Themed posters to help your students rock when it comes to testing. It includes checklists, step-by-step instructions (complete with visuals), and graphic organizers to use for practice. This product was created to give students the knowledge and practice on how to create a proficient constructive response. Therefore, it focuses on giving them the knowledge of what to do when they come to the written response questions (*NOT the multiple choice questions of testing). **The resources were designed for third graders, especially those who have special needs, and/or have difficulty planning when they write. The graphic organizers may also benefit fourth and fifth grade students, as well, especially depending on various student needs. I have made a few variations of this product, for your convenience. There is this version (where the posters are gray-scale), the "Colored Version" (where the posters are colored), and the BUNDLE for those who may want both. Please visit each one link and look through the preview before making a decision about what's best for you. Thanks! The Journal of Child Neurology published research on a review of records of 934 children with a history of tight heel cords and toe walking. Toe walking (20.1%) and tight heel cords (12%) were present more often in the 324 children with autism but lower in 30 children with Asperger Syndrome (10% with toe walking and 3% with tight heel cords). The researchers reaffirmed previous research that toe walking is more prevalent in children with autism and are concerned there may be a secondary orthopedic deformity in this population.
