This was a project designed for distance learning, where if students have PAINT, they can do it. It was created for high school Visual Arts students. They remix their chosen Renaissance artworks by This project asks them to REMIX a Renaissance artwork by zooming in on part of the original art and by switching up the colour scheme. They can pick architecture, sculpture, painting or drawing to work from...this creates great variety in the class and they really love lots of choice! It walks them through the steps of the project mentor artist research page (they research their favourite Renaissance artist. I pair this with my Renaissance Art History Lesson) figuring out their composition picking their type of paint / surface / colour scheme This could easily be tweaked to suit your class needs, such as if you were working on an acrylic paint unit specifically. They love this project! Enjoy. 4 Sketchbook Prompts that are Art History based. Includes 4 different prompts, each unique and with a famous artist's work your student will need as a base in to their sketch. Each has some basic information about each painting. Great for bell ringer, long distance and sub plans too! Personal Note: I developed these because I couldn't find quality sketchbook ideas anywhere. Plus, I wanted to get students looking at more art history than what we even do in class. I assign and weekly Sketchbook Challenge. These are written so they force the student to look up the artwork and then actually look at it and study it.
