Canopie Pepa is a porcelain vase designed by Elena Cutolo for Seletti. It belongs to a collection of five porcelain vases. They represent girls from different parts of the world. Pepa is from the United States. Canopie is a series of porcelain vases created by the Italian designer Elena Cutolo, who with this project inaugurates her first and wonderful collaboration with Seletti. Elena Cutolo was born in Naples in 1966, studied architecture in Naples and Barcelona and graduated in 1992. Since 1998 he lives in Milan, began his collaboration with the Sottsass Associati studio for architectural projects and, between 2002 and 2007, with Ettore Sottsass in projects of Interior design, exhibitions and design. Ihre Motive sind schlicht und alltäglich: Wassertürme und Gasbehälter, Fachwerkhäuser und Hochöfen, Fördertürme und Kohlesilos. Die Dinge, die sie fotografierten, haben ursprünglich auch unmittelbar mit ihrem Lebensumfeld zu tun. Wahrscheinlich lässt sich kaum nachvollziehen, welche kulturelle Leistung die beiden Fotografen durch ihre gemeinsame 40-jährige Arbeit vollbracht und was sie zur Wahrnehmung der Industriearchitektur beigetragen haben. Heute ist für uns selbstverständlich, dass stillgelegte Fördertürme und Gasbehälter als Zeugen einer untergehenden Industrie und als gelungene ästhetische Formen geschätzt und erhalten werden. Als aber Hilla und Bernd Becher in den 60er-Jahren begannen, ein systematisches Verzeichnis anonymer Skulpturen (wie sie es nannten) anzulegen, war der Denkmalsgedanke noch längst nicht auf diese Bauwerke übertragen worden......
