This wire jewelry tutorial teaches you how to trap a cabochon in a woven frame with graceful swirls to dance across the front and back of the pendant. The lesson teaches you a basic version of this style of pendant. However, with a little imagination, you can use the techniques taught here to create many different variations of this design. This lesson calls for a cabochon, though you can also substitute a similar size bead for the cab instead. Keep in mind that if you do use a bead instead of a cab, you will need to make the frame wide enough to accommodate the thickness of the bead. These instructions teach you how to make the first two pendants pictured above. The other pendants are all variations of the same design and are shown to give you ideas of how you can alter your own pendants. We are often asked what the best way to finish leather cord is, or how to do it. Well, today I will show you two different methods! The first style is a simple wire wrapped fold over loop. I prefer to use half round wire for this style of end, but you could use round wire if desired. This tutorial was made with 2mm l
These pretty, Celtic Knot, religious medal, earrings are a lovely, statement of Celtic heritage and Catholic faith. The earrings are fashioned from 8mm, smooth, Jade gemstone beads along with 2mm, antique silver, spacer beads. Below the polished beads are approx. 1/2", textured, antique silver, Celtic Knot charms. The charms have an intricate, interlocking design. They are a favorite with my customers ! Suspended from the shiny, Celtic Knots are the focal points of the earrings. The small, images of " The Sacred Heart of Jesus ". The small medals are set in decorative, antique silver, scalloped edge, oval frames with a slightly domed, clear glass cover, over the colored image. The earrings are both Lead and Nickel free. The overall measurement of the earrings is approx. 3" in length x approx. 1/2", at the widest points. They have flat, French style, Stainless steel, ( hypoallergenic ) ear wires and clear silicone stoppers are included. Not intended for anyone under fifteen years, due to small parts. Avoid contact with water, heat ( blow dryers ) hair spray, health and beauty aids, cologne, perfume, and other abrasive and acidic, substances.

We designed, hammered and swirled 12 gauge copper wire to handmake this Celtic knot inspired shawl pin or hair pin. We smoothed all the edges so that it will not catch on your shawl. The pin measures about 1 3/4-2 1/8" (4.5-5.3cm) long and about 1 5/8- 2 1/4"(4.2 - 5.7 cm) across the widest part. The stick pin part with the spiral on top that slips through the main design to secure the pin is about 2 3/4 - 3 1/4" (7 - 78.2cm) long. You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to create a looser or tighter fit with the pin. This is a small sized pin and works well in your hair if you are only using it on a small amount of hair like when you pull the front pieces back like I did in the last picture. It is often hard to know if a hair accessory will work well for your particular type of hair without trying it on first. If our pins don't work well for you after you purchase them just let us know and we can easily work out a refund or exchange. It can be worn as a sweater brooch too! This pin would work best on a knit or crocheted open weave type garment and is not intended for tightly woven cloth fabric. All our jewelry comes wrapped in colorful tissue paper, in a nice gift box and tied with a bow ready for gift giving. The pin in the pictures is a representative pin and not the exact same one that you will receive. We hand make each pin and try hard to make them look the same. There may be some minor differences but the one you will receive will look very similar to the one you see in the pictures. The copper wire used in this pin is in it's natural form and not treated with a lacquer or wax. Copper naturally oxides over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny. Here are some suggestions for how to shine up your copper jewelry using common household supplies like lemon juice or ketchup: http://www.ehow.com/how_4473390_clean-copper-jewelry.html TarnX works well too. This pin is also available in light weight aluminum and sterling silver. Check out our Shawl Pins/Hair Pins section of our shop to see our other shawl pin designs. I told you so-this is more of the "monsoonal range. Thank goodness the monsoon gives me plenty of months to focus on these colours. The design is loosely based on a traditional Nepali style. The women where strands of Czech seeed beads and in one month in particular they are all greeen to celebrate the "greening" of their world after the first rains. Mala is the Nepali word for the multi stranded necklaces worn by the ladies to show that they are married. Traditionally red or green, they can be in a huge range of colours. They are made from seed beads purchased loose from Czechoslovakia or Japan and then threaded by women in their homes for a small income.
