We're familiar with Grecian sculptures highly revering the human form, so how does one echo the elegance of such art without mundanely copying it? The
Based in Richmond, Virginia artist Morgan Herrin transforms the most humble material—laminated construction grade 2x4s—into spectacularly detailed figurative sculptures. His choice of imagery is surreal: a noble 15th century knight melts into a network of dripping stalagmites or a classical marble bust that is overgrown with parasitic sea creatures. The resulting works are a fascinating juxtaposition of material and subject matter that require up to a year of labor to produce. Of the untitled knight piece Herrin says: Untitled (Knight) is the product of the combination of two subjects: 15th century plate armor, and geological cave structure. More
The amazing art of Tsuyoshi Nagano
These are all the photos of Twisted Wonderland I have collected from either the internet, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, or somewhere else that I forgot I got them from. I do not know the Artists of these amazing art works, but please give them credit and know that I also give them Credit just don't know how and just saw them and was like "Wow! Pretty! I download and keep for future story to write or as phone background!" Okay? K! Also I'm running out of space in my phone, so I'm leaving them here so I can always go back to them as well.
Given that her complete catalogue is composed almost entirely of work she produced as a student, the posthumous critical esteem for American photographer Francesca Woodman is astonishing. Unlike music or math, where precocious displays of talent are not uncommon, photography tends not to have prodigies. Woodman, who committed suicide in 1981 at age 22, is considered a rare exception. That she has achieved such status is all the more remarkable considering only a quarter of the approximately 800 images she produced—many of them self-portraits—have ever been seen by the public.

Cringe is as cringe does. Even though the internet is full of wonderful things like cat pics, wholesome local news, and articles written by yours truly, it’s also home to the vast and spooky wilderness where you’ll find the most bizarre and cringe-worthy posts. And it’s the members of the ‘Cringetopia’ subreddit that bears the heavy burden of documenting the cringiest examples to share (and publicly mock!) with the world. These cringetopians have a duty to show us what to never ever do while at the same time providing us with some hilariously weird content.

Fixated on a mythological depiction of nature, Japanese artist Ishibashi Yui sculpts feral children that appear to belong to another realm of reality. Pallid, hairless human bodies become fused with roots and vines, brought to life through a mixture of wood, resin, clay, wire and paint. Oftentimes, the figures appear imprisoned by the flora. In Then, It Returns Slowly, a pregnant woman's face erupts with flesh-colored growths that form a tree trunk. The character in Dream of 10 Billion Years succumbs to a similar fate as her limbs are fused with a chair and her head becomes a bouquet-like arrangement of leaves and branches. These sculptures personify nature as a force that reclaims its power from its human occupants. Take a look at some of Yui's sculptures after the jump.
